    it's a good thing to keep the cars consistent anyway, might as well make the smaller ones bigger since the bigger ones can't get any smaller without losing detail

    • @jaycenferreira7186
      @jaycenferreira7186 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, but I feel like older style, smaller vehicles can still work in your city, like the 4 wide can be built into small work vehicles ie. Postal, meter maid, utv's, Go-Karts, so the bricks are still usable and create more realistic city still.

    I personally LOVE the 8-wide vehicles. So much detail and you can fit two minifigs in typically. But I have major kudos to the people who cram so much detail and design into a 6-wide vehicle. And I get why for your custom cities / streets. I don't have a custom city or anything so this doesn't apply to me. But I did just build a custom 8-wide Ghostrider Hell Charger car from the standard 6-wide version in stores and man it's so much better and detailed than the original.

    Even before lego started making those 8 wide cars (which I’m still unsure of) I’ve preferred the 6 wide design since it seems closest to Minifigure scale while still having a good amount of seating space.

    I agree on the 6-wide note for LEGO city purposes - but I have a question for you. I have a ton of 4-wide City car bases from when I was younger, I'd love to utilize them. What's the best way to do so? My thought is to make smaller utility vehicles 4-wide, but I'm also curious what methods there are for utilizing those bases in 6-wide cars. It does mean a lot of those old axle pieces that I have aren't very useful.

  • @unclefredsbrickslot5824
    @unclefredsbrickslot5824 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think 6 studs is definitely the right scale for vehicles and most of my Mocs are this size. I have found you can put two minifigs side by side if you lean one of them slightly forwards and one slightly backwards. A lot of minifig scale vehicles (e.g. Speed Champions) are 8 or more studs wide, but they look way too big in my opinion. Conversely, some of the earlier Speed Champions are a bit too small (e.g. the mini clubman) so you can only get one minifig inside.

    I really don't understand why Lego botched their new street system by making it too narrow. If they only had as much of attention for the quality of their product as they had for their pricing. I mean at their price point you can't have 'mistakes' like these. And yes I mean their listed prices, because they charge their resellers accordingly.

    I personally like 8 stud wides car more since it has better proportions and scale to a real car but the problem is that it’s too big for lego cities in general... great video though!

    This is my first time here but i saw that police car and IMMEDIATELY went to the store. Then i saw the fire truck and now have three things in my cart… but i wish i knew how much it would be for the prices so i know how much money i’m going to end up spending.

      We get that question all the time, and unfortunately it’s really hard to answer due to numerous reasons like taxes in your area, shipping costs to you, which bricklink stores you buy from, how many stores you buy from, if you buy new or used bricks, etc…. That said, the fire truck is more expensive than the police vehicles, due to the part count and some rarer parts it uses, whereas the cop cars have more common parts. Hope that helps!

      @@AFOLTV It does thanks! I’ll for sure consider my purchase, might have to do a little research on pieces first though!

    Honestly don't like the new roadplates mainly for the fact of the cost it would require to do a city layout
