      It wasn't 'people hating on him', it was the media of the time. He (Ahmed) literally tweeted about it a few years ago.
      Some fans hated JarJar (NOT AHMED, JARJAR!!), some (such as myself) loved him. But the MEDIA were the ones who used and abused him, just like they did Jake.

    I love that Bo has kind of become Grogu's mom. Or aunt. I googled what a rondel is. It's a piece of circular armor used for extra protection. It was typically located in the armpit, a common armor weak point. I honestly thought Bo was going to get in trouble for losing a piece of her armor. I hope the person they were taking Grogu to was like Sabé. Imagine if we got a Keira Knightley cameo. I honestly think the Armorer is my favorite all time Star Wars character. My brother was friends with Jake Lloyd in high school. The amount of abuse thrown at him was sickening. I didn't particularly care for the prequel movies, but why take it out on an actor, especially a kid!? The dialogue around the pickup at the landing pad sounds like they were planning on picking up other Younglings. There's a running theory on other videos right now: how cool would it have been if Jar-Jar's the one who sent the ship to rescue the kids when Padme got wind of what was happening? Nerdy, I LOVED your reaction to seeing the return of The Sabered Hand...Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. He's been my choice for the one to save The Future Second Mandalorian Jedi in the galaxy, for around 2 years now. Any thoughts on where Kelleran and Grogu are heading to meet up with "some friends"? If it's Naboo, that would be so ironic. I wonder if The (current) Queen Of Naboo had a hand in this rescue. Some say it may have been Jar Jar Binks. I'll take both. If it ended up being Padme, Jar Jar, and The Queen...even better. I wonder if Bail Organa ever met up with Master Beq, at some point, post-Order 66.

    Keep in mind that Yoda's Species (I don't think it's ever been given an official name) lives nearly a millennium.
    If 900 for Yoda was equivalent to 100 for a human then 50 is like being 6. That's not to say they mentally develop at the same rate. There could maybe be something in the story about some kind of suspended animation (cryo-sleep, etc) that helped hide him for nearly 25 years (the time between ep 3 and 6).

    • @MolnarG007
      @MolnarG007 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True, but there are species that walk on the first week. We can't know when he becomes a teenager, speaking , evolving much in short time. Also i would think a dramatised shy kid is slower to mature, develope, so again he can develop rapidly.
      But it's a huge task, deciding his character, voice, etc. Super hard next step for the filmmakers.

    • @kennyteeology3526
      @kennyteeology3526 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Doing the math, I thought that his species matures relatively fast between ages 50 and 100. Yoda says that he's been training Jedi for 800 years in "Empire", which would put him at about 100 when he started teaching others.

    Ahmed Best being brought back to Star Wars in such grand fashion (a badass Jedi who saves Grogu, arguably the currently most important character of Star Wars, nothing less), after all the crap he's been though, it's just pure poetry.
    Thank you Dave and Jon indeed !
    And thanks Carl Weathers to make him look so badass in the process !
    You got to love it when a black superstar turned director makes a fellow black actor shine in such a grand way. I love it that Carl is becoming such a household director name, now, and in Star Wars, nothing less !
    Sure, the story was pretty stupid (the number of times I rolled my eyes at the script, like why is Bo Katan the only one with a ship ? How did they all even get to that planet ? No safety measure to scout the area for incoming kaijus ? All the leisurely camping trip pace while the kid has likely been dismembered and digested already ?), but visually and actionwise, this episode didn't have an ounce of fat on it ! It was pure muscle all around, and we love it !

She's a devoted zealot of true faith; if an honored member of her enclave went personally to the Living Waters claimed they saw a mythosaur, then, well, this is the way. I think the Armorer was just accepting of the fact that something miraculous happened to Bo on Mandalore.

    I see this criticism everywhere: 'Why would the Mandolorians live on this planet' I wish the show would have explained this more because it is a big part of Mandalorian culture: training against creatures that will test and mold them. Think of it as a rite of passage and a sort of Darwinism as well as a call back to their roots of conquering or in some cases taming noble creatures like the Mythosuar and the basiliskan (flying dragon creatures hint hint)

      @@NerdyNightly True having a scout tower would be understandable, but it looks like they have zero fortifications at all I think the idea is this is just a temporary base, a simple cave or cave systems. The whole idea is that this is a hostile planet, if the showrunners made it more fortified they would have had to up the danger to surpass the Mandolorian defenses. The Mandolorians need to be in danger to create stronger warriors they choose planets like this on purpose it is part of their culture 😉
      The main thing I would have changed here creatively would have been to make it a jungle environment with equally deadly creatures (Go on location stop using desert volume locations) and give it a original predator movie location vibe.

    I actually like Jar Jar and thought that he was good at bringing out that it was a lighter time in the Staf Wars story before the Empire began and all that.

    There was obviously no fault of Ahmed Best that Jar-Jar was goofy. 20 years ago, people should've blamed Lucas whose idea it was. But the past is past. Now, count on Filoni for deep-cut references like that which 1. bring joy to your generation, 2. re-introduce Ahed into SW big way, and 3. adds importance to what was a rather obscure character. It's all changed now. Grogu is literally the baby-Jesus of Star Wars, saving him, well, need I say more?

    Technically I think Bo might be older than Grogu. I mean she was mid-20's during the Clone wars, late '20's around order 66... and we're 9 or more years post Endor at this point.
    I mean Katee is 42, but I would think Bo Katan is a year or two older than "magic hands"

    I wasn't a Jar Jar fan but I never felt negative towards him. He was just a goofy guy for kids. I also liked Little Anakin. I never knew People hated them until getting involved on the internet more as I got older.

    Personally, I think the Star Wars Fandom has the most toxic fans. This is why I don't voice my opinions about the franchise, why I only enjoy the franchise with my friends in real life

    A interesting question that this episode raised for me was, exactly how the Mandolorians have children per say if no one is permitted to see them without their helmet on according to their creed?🤔

    ...And I've always separated an actor from their role. I've never blamed Ahmed Best for Jar Jar! Ahmed Best is an actor who showed up to set, recited his lines, hit his marks and followed direction. Jar Jar was a silly character who was inserted into a movie to sell toys.
    I don't blame Ahmed for Jar Jar, just like I don't blame Wil for Wesley.

    Din is not "The Madalorian" the title is referring to.
    Grogu is.

    I’ve always had a like/dislike for Jar Jar. When Phantom Menace first came out I think I was around 13 and to me Jar Jar started as a lovable clumsy but lucky idiot that somehow became a military leader. And while it was some thing I noticed, I was alright with it because like I said I was 13 at the time. But as I got older and more was done with the character I started to have more problems with Jar Jar. To me, it was because he kept getting promoted to higher levels of power and authority by beings that live in a GALACTIC civilization thousands of years old. It just didn’t make sense. And to me, it hurt the prequel’s quite a bit. But I always kept that love the character and the heart of Jar Jar it was just how he was used in the story. And I never blamed Ahmed for any of this, and it always broke my heart to hear how much hate he was getting as a person

    So is it known how long Grogu/Yoda's species takes to be considered an adult? If Grogu is 50 and still a child/baby, it seems like he'll have another 20 or 30 years before he's even what we would call an adolescent.

    About Jar Jar, you were young, like I was young when I saw Ewoks for the first time. Objectively both were aimed at the younger audience and are offputting when you are over a certain age and see them for the first time. The character of Jar Jar made poop jokes witch was waaaaaaay out of the normal Star Wars humour tone at the time, it was quite frankly jaring and offputting. To the older audience it was not just Jar Jar the issue, it was the woodden acting, double bladed self mutilation light saber... basically it was not what we expected then from star wars. To us Jedi were magical hermit weirdos a bit like Gandalf in LOTR so when the prequel came it was reviled because it was not the expected tone. Was there a portion that was due to racism yes, no doubt, there are always bad people ready to use any excuse, but the Jar Jar thing was mostly about the character, not the great work of the actor, it was a script issue. The character had no redeaming quality and felt forced, why would an unredemable character would stick with Jedis through all that stuff for no real reasons? I personally only found him interesting when he was treated like a useful idiot pawn for Palpatine to take power, it gave him meaning, but before that he felt like 6 to 10 years old pandering.
