@@thatllputmarzipaninyourpie3117 I agree, but he went from being hated by the “fans” to being acclaimed. He did an extremely good job with the pile of shit he was given by Lucas. During the first trilogy, people kept working with Lucas to buff out the kinks in the script. In the prequels, no one wanted to criticize him, that’s how we got Jar-Jar stepping in poo and the sand line.
The redemption arc is for the fans, not Ahmed.
More like an “apology” from LucasFilm rather than a redemption. Best did what was asked of him, and he was wrongly vilified as an actor. Good for him! 👍
I love whoever at Lucasfilm said, "Let's give Ahmed Best the coolest role ever to try and make up for all the crap he got playing Jar Jar." So much respect.

Watching their Jar Jar conversation was genuinely hilarious
I just love The Armorer being so accepting of Grogu, and being his cool aunt who has all the best gifts for him. Meanwhile aunite Bo helps him learn to kick ass.
Especially since I believe the armorer is Rook Kast a mandalorian that sided with Maul when the deathwatch fractured, hence the horns on her helmet.
Oh totally! And antie Pellie giving them all the cool droids and ships. I love their little family so much. It gives me life.
I LOVE that they gave Ahmed Best the role of a kick ass Jedi in this show. He deserves it for the hell he went through.
I loved the 'Mom and Dad cheering on their kid at soccer practice' vibe! The royal family begins to coalesce! Riding dragons and mythosaurs into the future!

Kelleran Beq is from the game show back in 2020 called Star Wars Jedi Temple Challenge or something like that, played by Ahmed Best, the actor who played Jar Jar played Kelleran. He portrayed that same Jedi as he hosted the kids game show.
Never heard of that game show. What a deep cut!
"This is The Way" has taken on so much more meaning in the past 2 episodes. When Din says it to Bo when she speaks about her father dying defending Mandalore he's saying "Your father was a great warrior." When Din says it to Paz after saving his son he's saying "We are all family." and when the Armorer says it to Bo about her seeing the Mythosaur she's saying "You were meant to see it." Bo is truly learning that becoming the Mandalore is deeper than just sitting on the throne. There is a reason she wielded the Darksaber with such ease!!!
I think "This is the way" meant that it didn't really matter whether it was real or not. Taming the mythosaur didn't make the Manda'lor the Manda'lor. Walking the way did that. The mythosaur isn't the foundation of the way, merely a result of it. A "symptom" of greatness, for want of a better word. Not a cause. The Armorer doesn't want Bo to focus on the wrong thing. Every Mandalorian who follows The Way is worthy of taming the mythosaur, let alone seeing it.
Additionally, given how characters tend to get flashbacks when the Armorer is at her forge, it's possible that the Living Waters somehow trigger visions, so the Armorer's not really surprised by anything people say they saw.
@@BravoDox I was saying that the Armorer was telling Bo that there's a reason she saw the Mythosaur, real or not. Bo has spent years trying to force her claim to the throne by approaching her leadership through a strictly political sense. Losing her following, wielding the Darksaber, and seeing the first Mythosaur in thousands of years, all while beginning to appreciate the spiritual roots and customs of her culture. The Armorer is saying that following the Way is showing her these things for a reason.
Yes!!! Thank you!!! And when Pasz says it in ep7 he’s saying some things are worth dying for. If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred times. Bo’s arc was my favorite part of this season and she now has my full support.
In a way Jar Jar did save Grogu! From a certain point of view
Jar Jar has NEVER needed redeeming. His heart was the purest throughout The Clone Wars.
Ok, here's a thought. Kelleran Bek was rescuing the Jedi kids cause that was his main job, and his friends were Naboo soldiers arriving on a Naboo spaceship. Besides Amidala, there was only one person that had enough power to send a ship with an armed crew to rescue Jedi younglings, and that would be Jar Jar.
It's disturbing trying to imagine a live action Jar-Jar. The more you think about it though, Jar-Jar has to be involved given the people who rescued Grogu and make more sense why they chose the actor who rescued him. At this point, I'm going to be disappointed if this isn't the canon but I suspect we'll never see it in live action.
Another disturbing thought -- we've been told Grogu is going to finally speak this season. If he spent the last 28 years with the Gungan, wouldn't it be likely he picked up a Gungan accent? The Mandalorian is too important to Disney for Favreau/Filoni to risk something that troll but it's fun to imagine the firestorm that would erupt over the internet if it happened.

I don’t feel your representation of the conversation is accurate. The armorer was not condescending and she did believe Bo Katan even if she didn’t think it was a literal mythosaur. But the armorer is a true believer.

I didn’t even register that it was Ahmed at first. I had the same exact reaction as Adam when he first showed up. I was like “where do I know him from?!” Then during the credits it hit me like a truck. Redemption for Hayden and now Ahmed. I love it!

I'm so glad you left in that cute moment when Bo Katan encourages Grogu. It was so damn adorable - and rare for her - and many reactors just glossed over it! I just loved the character development she had in this ep, getting to be a leader again and show what she can do.

The music playing when Bo-Katan was asking for the mythosaur symbol is the mythosaur motif. No sinister intention from Bo-Katan necessarily, but more like the monstrous symbolism of the creature.
Just throwing this out there: Who wants an audiobook titled "The Legends of Mandalor" that is narrated by Emily Swallow aka The Armorer? Hey, it could even be titled, "Tales from The Armorer". This is the Way.
I am pretty sure, the Armorer is the Mandalorian Counselor.
The Jedi who rescued Grogu from the temple is Kelleran Beq from Jedi Temple Challenge tv series, you can actually see all episodes on youtube.
He's played by Ahmed Best who was Jar Jar Binks in the prequels, so technically Jar Jar rescued Grogu!
And Filoni wrote eps.5, so I can't wait for your reaction next week!

Ahmed Best 💖 When I recognized him in this episode, I felt so happy and proud of him. He's come so far, and I'm glad that he's still around despite all the vitriol that he faced since Phantom Menace. ☺️ And his character saves Grogu from Order 66.

I am really loving this show. It reminds me of Doctor Who at its best, family friendly, with a big overarching story line threaded though the season. Lots of fun individual episodes that still have cleaver character development. You can feel that the people making this show actually really love Star Wars.
The scene with Grogu getting his armour plate is so precious.. the music, Grogu's coos, how happy and proud he looks... if it doesnt make you feel both sad (considering all the things this kid has gone through), and overwhelmingly happy... then you have no soul... tears were shed.

Since the forging of metal involves a repetitive visual and auditory process this could facilitate a meditative state.
Is it silly to admit that I cried when the door opened and it was Ahmed Best? I am so glad they did this. Now, we have another Jedi to learn about. I can't wait.
I believe part of what made the Jedi so susceptible to Order 66 was in combination with them being betrayed with no warning, the Dark Side was at it's strongest during the purge, we've seen Jedi such as yoda being affected deeply by it and personally I believe that this affected them all to the point where they appeared "underpowered" as they began to be overwhelmed by the clones and the growing power of the Dark side with each Jedi death
Love the fact that soon as grogu is moved all the crabs move away like they are attracted to him in the force

Such a good episode, really breathing more and more life into the Mandalorian way of life, the flashback, the cameo, the music... *chef's kiss*
For the shortest episode in the entire series (so far) they did a good job packing a lot of action in-between showing the Mando lifestyle as well as the super important Grogu flashback.
As has been pointed out, that's Ahmed Best who played Jar Jar. The other really cool thing is that he's playing Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, who is the original character jedi host of the kids game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenege
"Get the youngling to Kelleran!" It was already fun seeing Best play Kelleran Beq on JEDI TEMPLE CHALLENGE, but to then make Beq a Clone Wars era character and have him save Grogu? Wow. That's honestly cool and what a great reward for Best as an actor after the bad feeling thrown at him because of Phantom Menace.
They did mention the Jedi's name. It's Kelleran Beq.... played by Ahmed Best. He's the same actor who played Jar Jar...sooooo you guys called it!!😂😂😉🤩
Kelleran Bek (played by the same actor) is also the Jedi master in charge of "temple challenges" which is an actual Hidden Temple style game show that they had a few years ago. So this just canonized that character.
So the fan theory that Jar Jar saved Grogu was actually true (from a certain point of view) getting Ahmed Best as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq saving Grogu was awesome! And seeing Grogu doing literally ANYTHING from training to walking is so cute that my heart almost bursts.
Also the whole rescue of Ragnar Visla looked and felt like it was right out of the movies. And after seeing the Armorer forge armor for both Grogu and Bo-Katan I have a sudden urge to forge my own set of Mandalorian armor. Carl Weathers made one of the best episodes of the series with The Foundling. I just wish that this episode was longer, these episodes are becoming far to short.
Kelleran Beq is who Ahmed Best is playing and he’s actually from a Star Wars childrens contest show where children compete to become Jedi it’s called, Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. Kelleran teaches and handles Jedi younglings in the shows lore and it’s prob why they brought him in to save youngling Grogu. I am still just very very surprised by it however given that it was just a kids contest show but still it’s awesome cool to see the actor for Jar Jar back!
I love that whenever I feel silly for tearing up whenever something cute or sweet happens with Grogu I can come here and cry amongst my people 😭❤️

So this morning, when I saw Ahmed Best in his role as Kelleran Beq kicking clone butt, I have to admit to getting more than a bit verklempt. I never watched his show but I saw some commercials for it and I knew how bid of a redemption arc it has been for Ahmed. ❤

I read an article stating that Ahmed was very unhappy on how his Jar Jar character was received by the fans. So they gave him the role of the hero in this episode and I’m here for it. Also I cried when Grogu received his next piece of armor.

You've probably been told a fair bit but I'll say it again:
That Jedi that saved Grogu was Kelloran Beq, a Jedi seen in The Jedi Temple Challenge, an IRL gameshow for kids where he was the "Master"/gameshow host. The actor who played him was Ahmed Best, the very same actors for Jar-Jar in the prequels. It's perfect that Ahmed Best is getting the treatment he deserves, he's a good actor
If the next flashback features Grogu being handed off from Kelleran to Jar Jar, they save money by not having to hire another actor!
Kelleran Beq is the Jedi who is the Youngling Master, skilled in all Seven lightsabre forms who rescues Grogu. Played by Ahmed Best, the same man who played Jar-Jar in the prequels. Incidentally, the Ship was a Naboo x2 used by Naboo senators, hence the Guard. The only Naboo Senator on Coruscant at the time of order 66 is Jar-Jar, so Jar-Jar sent his guard and ship to rescue the younglings in more ways than one.
I loved seeing Ahmed Best (Jar Jar) reprise his role from the Jedi Temple Challenge as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. This was so cool!!! Who else should save the last Jedi Padawan other than the Jedi Master who’s job was to care for the Jedi children? So happy for Ahmed!!!! I hope we get to see more of him taking care of Grogu.
What took me awhile to realize that when the hammer in the forge falls and strikes the metal, this comes back around to when Din recalls his own journey into the past with him being saved from the droids. As the Armorer forged for Din, she now forged for Grogu. A foundling once step closer to be a Mandalorian.
Watch for every therapist's office now being equipped with a Mandalorian forge. Something about clashing beskar just triggers deep memories.

It was Jar Jar Binks!!! Seeing Ahmed Best as Kelleran Beq gave me a big smile. Ahmed Best has been through a lot in the past and this just made me happy seeing him back and as the one to save Grogu.
this episode was SO amazing the Grogu flashback was so emotional and amazing - order 66 really still hits hard and the fact that it was Ahmed Best as the Jedi who saves Grogu is beautiful!!!

Jedi Master Kelleran Beq was played by Ahmed Best who previously played Jar Jar Binks in the films. Wow, what a way to redeem himself! Props to the casting department. Best had gone through years of depression for hate and even threats he received from angry fans when he played Jar Jar, and this is such sweet redemption for him, so happy for him! 😭
To me it also feels kinda like a callback to the episode of "Clone Wars" when the Battle Droids saw Jar Jar wearing a hood and thought he was a Jedi 🤣

Something I found interesting is the music as they were climbing the peak was in the Shadows of the Empire game on the N64. Pretty awesome since they had an easter egg of that game last episode too with the jetpack working underwater.
I'm honestly surprised Ahmed Best did this. The fanbase treated him so horrendously and demonically it took his life down such a dark path...almost leading to his end. When he came back from that, I'd think anything SW he'd stay away from like the plague.
Would definitely like to know what made him make this decision after all this time.
He healed (at least enough to be comfortable with this). And he originally took on this role for a quasi-canon kid's game show on Disney+, so now he gets to bring his character into main canon AND save Grogu? Who wouldn't want that?

What people are not talking about is this is the second time we have seen Grogu have an affinity for animals like Ezra did. And saw a mythosaur two episodes ago. I think it would be a great arc for Grogu to interact with the mythosaur at some point in order to bring together Mandalore.
