Diagnosing the anticipation is key. Practicing sight alignment/sight picture, focusing on the front sight, dry fire, moving the trigger finger only, and telling yourself, "Let the gun do the work." Pushing the gun doesn't help. Take it from someone who knows. Practice, practice, practice. ✌🏾
Thanks for this video! I found this on a search after being the "dummy" who inadertently left a chamber empty in my revolver. I had no idea I had a flinch, but it looked just like this guy's. And just as you pointed out, the flinch never showed up during dry fire practice. I'll be using this technique next trip to the range.
It seems to be much like firing a bow with a trigger where you more or less pull back on the trigger (or draw) until you're surprised by the release/shot

Brilliant! “I don’t even want to teach shooters other things. If they don’t fix this it doesn’t matter. “

It happens to the best of us, and dry firing will definitely help.
We did this drill in the state police academy. We did it to clear malfunctions then put shots on target

6:45 how familiar that feeling is 😂
I need this dude to teach me in person instead of my dad makeing fun of me
But thank you for this video this helped a lot
Always low left for me lol
What distance is the drill done at?
I think they said 10 yards.
Doesn’t matter. What matters is the shooter doesn’t know if the trigger pull will be a live round or a dud.
It does hurt your pride😢
