Holy mother of god, that's CRAZY efficiency! Great strat to keep in mind for league start, especially for those that can grab caster mastery to open abyss chests easily.
With atlas tree set up there is extra monsters, extra magic, and importanly 75% increase xp. Used juiced abys with 20% delirium to lvl to 99 pretty efficient. Could get from 99 to 100 in less than 50 maps, but so much easier to get carried.
Hey. Does the map density somehow interacts with abyss? I wanna try this on Strand map and it says strand map has 0 mob density, also i have Unrequired Love card scryed there (dont ask why lol) And then i was wondering if i just click Quant altar after i see i see it and not after i clear full map to stack them and then run the abysses, how bad can it impact on the drops? As always great video!
It will definitely work on Strand! Map density doesn't have a huge impact, but the shape of a map can cause some mechanics to not spawn if you try to cram too many in at once. That's a hard limit to hit and it's more of a concern on a map like Jungle Valley than Strand.
The RoI of a strat is heavily correlated with the initial investment. High investment strats will always have much lower RoI than low investment strategies. I mean the conclusion is obvious - an alch and go strategy has infinite RoI since the investment is 0. RoI is a largely meaningless metric to try and optimise. Calling a strategy "efficient" because it has a high RoI is a bit disingenuous. My essence farming strategy spends 10c per map to get an average of 1 divine out of it, should I call it an ultra efficient strategy because of that 15x RoI? No, it's worse than using a scarab of calcification and running lots of rares, even though the RoI is lower, because the div/h is higher. Div/h, ease of replication and downtime/sell time/buy time for materials are ultimately the only things that matter for a strategy, other than emotional things like "fun" :)
That's true, but the point here is that Abyss is surprisingly profitable despite the items it uniquely generates not being that valuable, and that this strategy can convert 5c of scarab investment per map into over 1 div of profit. That's appealing for a lot of players. Poorer/newer ones, for sure, but newer players are generally the people most in need of guides.
A good example is Harvest using a rotation strategy with the Awakening Scarab. Right now, it's quite costly, and you can only turn a profit if you gather 10-15k yellow lifeforce per map.
Can someone tell me what the purple bubble around your character is, please ? I'm new player in Poe and I'd like the same for my character :) Thank you !
Unplayable without caster mastery to open the chests. I tried the strat which uses glittering hoards to pump the boss full of div cards, but got nothing out of it.
This is what ive been doing for a month +. Safest for leveling with a geadhunter too. I vary the scarabs but ive mostly been doing the 2 abyss, 1 edifice. 1 cart of corruption and 1 esxalation. I got a lot of t17s. At least 1 every other map not to mention good gold and loot. It is slower but rewarding.
I was thinking today about a way to start farming for the next league and then it hit me... we're just like hamsters doing the same thing over and over again XD How many times will I keep farming magebloods, nimis and everything else? :c
I think you're missing out (even late league) by not getting the 6-mod abyss jewels. Lots of players min/maxing end up crafting gear with abyss jewel slots using recombinator and then fracturing it, because an abyss jewel is better than a normal suffix for a lot of builds. As a result, a really good 6-mod jewel can be worth quite a lot of currency. I've sold multiples for 10div+ and one for 40div. It's not uncommon to find ones worth 50c-1div as well. It's not that many points to grab that node so I think it's worth it (and it just adds a nice little jackpot potential). This strat works much better on casters due to the caster mastery that auto opens chests. It's also quite good in T17s when you have increased currency scaling on the map, because the hoards just drop a ton of currency normally, but it really scales up with the T17 mods. If you want to have a lot of fun, you can use horned scarab of nemeses combined with horned scarab of tradition. This combination has a lot of synergy with abyss. It's not great late-league, but early-league you get tons of 6-links and fractured items. It's a lot of fun to mess around with though because you get some very novel loot explosions.
@@PathofEvening It does take a little time but you can always just do a dump tab and decrease the price each day, starting out at 5 div or so. To be fair, I do actually end up individually looking at them because I find it fun to identify them, and this does slow me down! But it's fun for me.
I kind of agree with other comments that say’s your video takes too long and kind of a bait. I don’t want to be rude but they are kind of true. Abyss is going to suck if you can't maintain at least 50% total movement speed, preferably 75%. The back tracking will take too long. Highly recommend Coral ruins map. Its open, has the largest natural pack size of all maps. The open size makes the abysses unlikely to cross over each other which kills the abyss node you're following. Monstrous lineage+2 abyss multitudes+1 abyss profound depth+1 abyss scarab+abyss on the map device. Cheapest 100 grind. Also very profitable because of how cheap it is, scales extremely well with item quantity/rarity/mf gear. I run with all atlas nodes that give more abysses and packs from abyss. Also running delirium unending nightmare and beyond so the backtracking isn't so bad. Slap on a pair of corrupt slitherpinch gauntlets+fit in Chance To flee into you build and go for an Anglers plait. Fishing ring that is priceless, a collectors item. It is a rare mob drop and abyss is the cheapest rare mob farming for longer grinds.
@@notlabrador ooh nice catch. my strat is just putting as much increased effect of explicit modifiers as i can, and destructive play, as bosses have the highest chance to drop tier 17s.
It is good, i always go back to it when I get bad rng from long runs with other straps. Most consistent so far..lots of t17s and some other high value items consistently. I do this and generally something like mob juicing/beasts for speed...
@@fluffypenguin3424 There isn’t a “farming strat” that can an consistently make 50 Divs an hour other getting jackpot drops from Strongboxes or Rogue Exiles. True, adding in Deli is a good option for more juice.
for spell builds you can take the caster mastery that has a chance to open chests on spell cast. saves a lot of clicking.

I remember using it in the previous league (or was it Standard?) and had nice results, just clicking hoards was annoying
Yup!
Hoping you have better luck with your irl "drops". This hurricane season has been rough!

They happen everywhere, especially with bad weather.

not really

Be sure you keep chasing the Abyss cracks as they travel along. If you let them go too long without killing the monsters, they will close early.
Hoards should drop loot when you walk over them...
That would be better!
shaping of the mountains doesnt yield more tier 17 maps, only t16 or lower.

It does increase t17's via the map equity system.
