I’ve been in LV boutiques and I KNOW that I’m being judged by the staff. Not just me, other shoppers are being judged too. I’ve been put in front of other customers and it rubs me the wrong way that someone else is deemed “below” another customer. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth tbh I understand that they want that big sale and a good prospect, but to be looked at that way isn’t a fun thing for me. That might be why I don’t frequent LV boutiques. I don’t like being in a store that has so many social rules. My outlook is, if I’m here, I’m here to inspect the goods and MAYBE buy, the staff is there to assist and guide me. I’m respectful, I’m polite and I am interested. Sometimes I buy, sometimes I don’t. I live in a part of California where a person in a t-shirt and ripped up jeans could be a multimillionaire. I grew up poor, I’m not that same girl (in fact I’m what one would call a “mature” woman), but I like to make absolutely sure that what I’m spending money on is worth it. I carry real and I carry excellent dupes. Maybe staff are also on edge these days bc of the smash and grabs. I keep that in mind too when approaching a bag that’s on display to look at it.

I hate the lineups and refuse to stand in line for a luxury boutique. It's very not in keeping with the luxury experience. I have no problem with an appointment-based system and I would never just try to push in, but if there is a queue, I will simply walk past. It's not right to be rude and entitled - if the stores want to implement a line up system, that's cool, but I simply won't participate. It's the same with restaurants that won't take bookings - I just won't go there and instead will go somewhere that will take my booking so I know that at a certain time, I have a table ready for me. That's just how I am.

    • @divorceguru
      @divorceguru ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@4lb280 Yes exactly, it's my time and it's my prerogative if I want to stand in line or not. Trust me, the "sales folks" don't care because I'm not rude or entitled and trying to push in. I'm simply making a choice not to shop somewhere when there is a line. Luckily, where I live there are never lines, but when I am travelling I often notice line ups at certain boutiques and I'm always confused why people would stand in line... but that's their prerogative. I have better things to do with my time and there are always other ways to buy things that don't involve lining up. Not really sure why anyone cares about my stance on line ups TBH.

I understand…why wait when you don’t want to, just walk by. I don’t think the people in this thread get it…
No one’s forcing you to stand there, just come back when it’s convenient. Stores, restaurants, Disneyland….but our friends here feel they need to say something 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I worked retail, the people with the most money to spend were the least likely, we just treated everyone the same and if you actually listen to what they want you succeed. Most folks just want a newer version of what they have, we all look at different but most of the time they just want a newer version of what they like.

I was snubbed at the LV store in Charleston, South Carolina. I went in to the store prior to a Pilates class to purchase a Coussin bag. I was the only customer there. There were 3 employees on the floor. No one greeted me. I finally asked to see the bag & was told they were busy, but a SA would be out soon to help. 20 min went by, I asked one of the others & they asked me to please be patient. There were no customers there! I left & bought it online. They were rude & lazy. They could have made it a very nice experience. I would highly recommend avoiding that particular store.

We were in Paris-literally arrived in city centre after flying 7 hours and dropped our luggage at the hotel. We grabbed breakfast and walked around Blvd. St. Germain. I looked so gross and tired. Anyway we went into the LV boutique and had the greatest experience.
First of all, I knew exactly what I wanted so that was a good thing.

I had to stop and comment and only a few minutes into video. I have shopped at all of these stores, and more. Hermes, LV, Chanel, Dior ,etc. And I do own multiple items/pieces from each of these brands. Now with that said my point is that I am very familiar with luxury shopping. I personally don't touch items unless very, very interested But, I ask for help, it is easier. My main objection to some of these comments is 1) If people cannot distinguish where the counters not to cross are, or where they should not look or touch than make that more obvious in the store. Some people coming in may actually not know HOW expensive and/or ridiculously priced some of the items are. 2) Sales associates need to want to help all. Plus some of these stores should be happy that people are still willing to spend their money on these products, so don't make their experiences uncomfortable or unpleasant. How about a sign," please do not handle, ask for assistance". Remember the brands and stores need the buying public, whomever they may be, and Not the other way around. The public can live without many of these expensive items. Now before you start thinking I don't know what I am talking about, blah,blah,blah...I didn't say we didn't like them, love them or dream about some of these items. I am just reflecting that the designers and stores need to be more conducive and encouraging to shoppers no matter whether they look luxury or not. You never know what resources some people have. Not everyone is stylish. But agreed, behave with common sense and (unfortunately fading) common courtesy and manners on both sides of the counter.
(I say that because I have seen sales associates be very condensing to some shoppers. Your attitude should be the same before as after seeing the gold, platinum or black credit card. Maybe, if these expensive brands paid their sales associates more reasonable salaries and commissions some stores would be more comfortable for others to shop in too. Still I am stunned that LV only pays 1% commissions. LV needs to pay more than 1% commission! The owner, if I am correct is the richest, if not one of the richest men in the world. I just think some reflection is needed to make these stores and shopping experiences in them special. Whether you buy 1 item or have 10 or 15, or more, etc items. Sigh. Maybe I am just getting old and wishing things were a bit nicer and gentler. An expensive shopping experience should give you at least that and maybe some fun too!
I am not trying to offend anyone just stating some observations that I have made over many decades.
Maybe some things have changed more than I realize and some observations are outdated. Who knows. Maybe, maybe a small shopping jaunt for new observations is in order.

With that said Sales Advisors lose 15 percent of their customers due to this type of attitude by SAs, factual. I've walked into an LV, Gucci, Saint Laurent, or Dior store on a few occasions, waited around, and decided I wanted to purchase an item only to walk out without anything due to the AH SAs snobby behavior/attitude.

I was so mad, why she helped someone else who were after me, she didn’t know how to answer me, i waited more than half an hour, I went to look for the store manager and complained about her, the manager apologized and helped me immediately.

Things are getting confused when you talk about 'luxury' bag... like.... as if it is quality.... or good taste... something isn't per sé good quality just because it is overpriced. Rich people with real taste buy just as easily a nicely designed Kate Spade bag, or a very cheap shopper from honest materials and with a nice design.... or like a good coach bag they like.... They trust their own taste .... and they are not addicted to spending as much money as possible just to feel rich.... I understand a sales person is there to hit targets and that he or she wants to go for people who at first glance have lots of money to spend. It is a money making business. But you can not always tell.... people with money are often the least visibly rich.... and if they have real taste they wouldn't buy the tired Louis Vuitton bags.... I mean, they are alright quality wise but for sure not worth the money. And that story about that woman who saved up for a Louis Vuitton bag and moved everything from her old tired bag into her new bag, right in the store.... it is sad really.... there are sooooo many beautifully made bags with real beautiful quality leather and smart, nice or pretty designs .... the thing is when you talk about 'luxury' shopping you are talking about shopping for 'wealth signifiers'.... So of course you get tons of customers who are bragging and having big mouths.... it is not their fault... it is Louis Vuitton's fault.... LV is in the business of selling 'wealth signifiers'.... it is not about taste, it is about showing off... people want their bags to be recognised as a LV bag.... that's why the standard LV bags with the logo all over them sell the most.... real rich people, or better people who are used to having money and did not fall into it recently.... don't care about showing off.... it is the nouveaux riches.... or the self-made man/woman....or the people who want to be perceived as such .... who want to show to the world how much money they have.... and brands like Louis Vuitton cater to them.... it is not real luxury, it is about wealth signifiers.... showing off.... so of course you get people in there who are about showing off.... Louis Vuitton is for people who didn't develop their own taste, who want to feel like they know what they are doing and follow blindly the marketing of brands like LV....LV underpays its staff .... and now even the sales people working at LV think you need to dress up like if you're going to something really exclusive... while of course LV isn't exclusive.... hence the long waiting times outside the shop.... LV is like Disneyland, it is about marketing, branding, and brainwashing people so they open up their wallets..... develop your own taste people, go for real quality... real luxury is not over-priced.... it is only over-priced because many people want to show off they have money.... if a bag needs to be printed with logo's so you know from afar what brand it is, then already it is not real good taste anymore... a nice vintage Chanel bag also didn't have this huge logo on it. It was about the design, the shape and the material. LV is about LV: mass produced wealth signifiers full of logo's....

BUT, even though I don't see anything wrong with pajamas, a job interview definitely isn't the right place to wear them. Dress for the occasion I suppose and be aware of the vibe/clientele of the shop you're in; if the brand is very youthful, casual high-end, you could probably rock up in a nothing more than gucci belt and half a bra if you paired it with the right sunglasses. But if you look around and the average age is 35+, the clothes are very modest, the voices are hushed and half the women are wearing pearls... maybe skip the booty shorts for those stores? 😅
Ps. Idk how you dealt with entitled customers, I'd have ended up slapping someone with a mini pochette😂💕

Lol😅 So unnecessary of making excuses and looking for the flaws where in fact they have no budget of buying!😅 Before I come the boutiqueI called my SA and tell what I am getting
esp in Hermes and LV. And when I get into the boutique, I asked my SA to get and pay.😊 Less hassle for my SA, their time is so precious too to attend other clients.❤

I love Sophie, and both of you have a lot of great info in this regard. Another thing to add--if you repeatedly go into a store and are rude, demanding, etc--believe me, SA's remember you! I worked in retail as well as a high end service type store and oh the stories I could tell about certain customers. We even had nicknames for them since in most instances we didn't know their actual names. We had one customer we referred to as Mrs. F***. Don't be her.

Miami is a key place where you will see women dressed in gym clothes, ripped shorts and flip flops, etc shopping. I dress appropriately but honestly in that area, there's so much money, women dress however they want and are comfortable and everyone in the luxury stores simply expects it. I was shopping on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach Florida and there were women that looked as if they simply threw on some shorts over their swimsuit..............

I dont understand why people dont want to wait. Last time i waited 1,5 hours inside of Hermès for my SA to be free and she thanked me over 10 times for having waited patiently. It really helps to build that relationship too. It’s just sitting in a corner playing on your phone whilst the SA is finished

There’s a lot I don’t understand…like why do they inspect the bag to find the most trivial “off” stitch to make a complaint…why do they demand items that are sold out or even discontinued years ago?! …😐…I just can’t with some people!

Okay, so I recently bought the LV handbag that I had my eye on for a while till I could just pay cash for it..I paid more for this one because It was/is in Pristine condition and it was the one I really wanted and had no idea it was made around 2010 -11..It was in such great condition, I was still pissed that I paid $2k for this.. I almost threw up because I could literally hear my mother's voice in my head, going "What the hell are you doing"??? You should use the money for something that's more benevolent than a damned handbag..LOL.. My mother didn't even have to be there and I know she would say something like that..Once in a blue moon ladies we just want to spend our money, disposable money that we either saved or have and make good money because we have good careers and we want something of luxury.. So the way that Hermes is so ridiculously expensive and Chanel starts pretty much at $5k to start with, those super small bags.. I have one from the 1998 style that is a shoulder bag with the chain straps etc..I actually got it in France..It was fun and way less expensive back then than these are now..
I wanted this one because this more my personality... I really love this one because of the two side pockets.. I love the zipper because the Neverfull was so wide open and only had that one snap to kind of close it..I kept thinking with the gross crime rates in NY because we have such a shitty governor that lies about how bad the crime is.. It's almost like that scene on Sex and The City when that stupid thug held Carrie up for her Manolo's and her Fendi bag... issue is, this was my favorite and I added a few things on the inside to make it really great..I got the organizer you can slip in there that holds your keys, makeup, various things you would carry in a normal bag that would have more pockets. Found it in brown and it was felt and it was oddly the EXACT same color as the inside of my bag..Love it..One thing I always saw women w/Louis bags that I hated was that it was always shapeless in the sense that you could see it was being weighed down by all the crap they had in the bag and that in turn made the bag look like a shapeless mess..That always looked odd to me and I never liked the Speedy because you can't carry it as a shoulder bag which is better and easier...So what I did was add a bottom part to it that made the purse look 100% sturdy.. It's also felt and brown so I lucked out on the color of that..I ordered one in felt and one in leather. Both are gorgeous, but the felt was better because much lighter and now it keeps my bag in great shape and looks perfect.. I love it because I'm not in love with a lot of the other designs like that awful time Mark Jacobs took over in the early 2000's and had the ugly Graffiti looking crap.. It looked cheap.. I don't especially like the light colored ones and I despise the gimmicky looking ones that have Mickey Mouse on them and other things like that..That just cheapens the look..This design has been around for about 200 years and the original canvas design IMO is the classiest look..Whether it be the pouche or any other handbag..I definitely got a wallet to match..We have to make it all match up well w/our designer duds..Plus looks fantastic.. I'm really pleased w/this handbag because I made sure it was checked out by an actual professional authenticator because for some reason people were telling me since it wasn't made in the U.S., it was probably fake..WRONG. Mine was made in France. I saw the difference and now I can spot a fake a mile away..It was an interesting way to find out the history of the line, the way they make them, the way it's done by hand.. I'm not sure I agree, no I don't agree w/the practices these people do, these billionaires like Pinault w/his disgusting Balenciaga crap..using super cheap labor making people work for massively long hours and barely giving them breaks... Thanks NAFTA..Ugh..You can thank the gross Clinton's for that mess.. These clowns never end, do they?? or even money when during the Fakedemic he, Penault, made over $50 billion dollars while the world was losing their jobs..I think Selma has a lot of things she needs to explain like how the hell she would be married to a creep, and YES, THE HIGHER UP'S KNOW EVERYTHING THAT IS GOING ON W/THE WAY THE MARKETING OF THEIR DESIGNS ARE GOING TO GO AND HOW AND WHEN AND WHY..SO HE KNOWS..DON'T THINK THIS CREEP, NOR HAYEK ISN'T AWARE OF WHAT'S GOING ON..TRULY DISGUSTING!!!! Balenciaga has the ugliest clothes, handbags, you name it..the fashion shows were done in a mud pit and one in the midst of a freaking snow storm ..It looked like it was literally done in the pits of hell ..It looked like crap..they make fashion look ugly, disgusting, like shit to be blunt and nothing like those utterly gorgeous fashion shows they always had in the late 1990's onto the mid 2000's until these globalist assholes decided to take everything and make it all look like garbage.Don't even try to tell me Kanye's ugly shoes and his ugly AF so called "fashion"?????? I can't call it that because his cheap, ugly beige looking crap looked exactly like it was straight out of some interment camp...UGLY AF... Get real... Even if the GAP were selling that ugly garbage, there is no way in hell I would buy that ugly looking crap..He looks so stupid in that gimp whatever the hell it is..and Kim is a crappy mother putting that ugly thing on her daughter..I feel sorry for those kids being raised by those weirdo's...Mainly Yes, she and Kanye...I think they're going to screw up those kids like crazy..if they haven't already..He's not a genius when it comes to fashion or music...Give me a freaking break... This dude was elevated for one reason and he knows the reason why..He needs to humble himself and stop preaching to the world that he's a genius and he's going to run for POTUS..well all people who do run are slap nuts and liars, so I guess he would fit the mode if you really look at it.. but he's a ridiculous person who doesn't seem to know what the F he's talking about..

I LOVE your channel and I hate the way they treat people who make these gorgeous luxury items and I was so set off by that disgusting Balenciaga ad because children are so innocent and beautiful and to think people do this children infuriates me, as well as the hard workers these billionaires treat like garbage... I adore the Dr. you go to to get you lovely, YOU don't even need any fillers. I love what your Dr. does and would love his name if you don't mind giving me the name... Thank you so much again for your tips..As for NAFTA..I've always hated everything the Clinton's have done and gotten away with and it infuriates me that they treat these incredibly hard working people like crap...This is something I hate... This is what's wrong with these creepy, disgusting politicians who get away with not only taking America into a bad place, but using and also invading countries that have precious materials and also to gain geopolitical control..
