Customers expect the world, management is horrible to deal with, egos out the wazoo--and this was a discount department store! Everything I hear about retail now is far worse than it was then, I had a friend who worked as a manager for a retail clothing chain and it became a nightmare. She finally left and later said to me that she didn't know it was possible to have a job where you didn't end up feeling like crap after every shift. And you are so right about people spending money they don't have to buy themselves attention. It's just crazy.

Some I bought and some were gifted by my husband. In my case I wear them for myself, not to show them off to other people. One thing I like about luxury goods is the quality, as long as you take care of them they will last a very long time. In 1991 I was accepted into this very prestigious university so to celebrate I went to an upscale shopping mall and treated myself a 500 dollar Gucci watch, something I had been flirting with for months. Back then I was working part-time as a waitress and blew my entire paycheck on it. The watch still works like a charm, all I need to do is change the battery. Its gold plating is still flawless. It was money well spent.

I don't need them either, delicious food? also no, you can eat cheaper. but all this makes our life, life and not existence before death. that's why we need them, these are positive emotions and pleasure, memories. they create our lives. people come to luxury stores for this, they need positive emotions and pleasure, as it were, and who didn’t say that it doesn’t help when you feel bad, maybe it doesn’t help when you are deep in a black hole, but when you worked hard, completed a big project or did something else it's like going to a restaurant with or without friends where you can leave the amount like an exotic bag .
I work in health care and I’m dealing with the same issues. I deal with rude, demanding, obnoxious, entitled people and a management group with their heads up their you know where. But, it pays the bills.

Thank you for telling us the truth about luxury that you don’t need and it shouldn’t define who you are as person but always hear oh a handbag is an investment in the future if you want sell on the loved pre market you can some money out it. I think people who want to spend there hard earned on luxury good it cause you see people you have this luxury brand item you want to have it or feel like you need it your life, and social media does that it doesn’t help by that luxury industry does that and see advertisements about it or you see friends you want to. It’s just a habit to have where spend so much on the luxury industry and then you realize all of luxury good doesn’t are you happy there just an addiction you on spend too much on something do need and you are putting yourself in financial trouble or you think this luxury will make your problems go. I lived in low income housing while working at LV corporate because it was all I could afford on what I was paid. I brought more than 20 years work experience and the director above me repeatedly executed my ideas without ever promoting me as promised or giving me a commensurate raise. She was promoted to director after sleeping with the man she reported to. She only promoted those so much less qualified than her that she did not perceive a threat. This was the single most toxic environment I have ever worked in. So many talented people were met with empty promises and unskilled, uneducated, nitwit managers. And how can you use anyone that dishonest as a reference? You can’t.
