    I love the mountains behind the Chevy. Very nice backdrop for your detailed briefing of the Silverado. I'm also glad Chevrolet took a page from Ram on its interior. Chevy had a lackluster interior for a long time. It was long over due.

    All of these new vehicles with crazy tech are just electrical nightmares...I traded my tech-filled SUV with gremlins galore for a very basic Ram 1500 Big Horn and it's been awesome.

      These turn signals do a little dance. What's the price when it fails? Years ago, a $5 blinker worked fine, and was easy to replace as no comnputers were involved.
      A while back I saw a car with half of the LED rear light dead. I wondered at the repair cost, and did he have to buy the pair or just 1 at a higher price?
      I wish the KISS Method applied, rather than "look what we can do".

    Coming from a GM fan, it's about time they refreshed that god awful interior, but no I'm not going to trade my 19 Ram for this or a Sierra. If I were I'd go with the Sierra, but it's simply not a big enough upgrade to warrant trading. Like always, GM is late to the party, the other trucks did GREAT interior refreshes years ago.

    Just received my Refreshed Silverado Trail Boss with the 5.3L. Only driven 150 miles but so far am really impressed with most features. The touch screen and the console shifter are awesome. Have had 5 Rams in the past 20 years with really no issues and around 800,000 miles without any major component failure. However, the cost of this one is significantly less money than I could have purchased a Ram equipped similarly. We will see how it goes! Thanks for doing Ben!

    Nice interior update. Exterior however is ugly! The Pre-refresh front end was so much better, I'd even go as far to say it was perfect. It captured the classic Silverado look, but with a modern twist/ finish to it.
    The Refreshed front end doesn't resemble a Silverado at all. All the key Silverado design cues have been completely removed. GMC won the Refresh this time round, by a long shot too.

      @@andrewmedanich2844 I know right. I traded in an ‘18 Camaro SS in on my Ram 1500. I wanted to stay loyal to the Chevrolet brand but getting a premium interior required north of 50k without rebates or incentives being offered at the time, which just wasn’t a smart buy.
      I ultimately chose the RAM because it was better looking, had comparatively more standard horsepower & a higher displacement V8, plus the material quality and interior finishes were better than in the Chevy, and a Ford, might I add.
      Ford is no better IMO. My brother just bought a new F150 and although he has an ipad sized screen and 5 more horses under the hood, the basic interior could use an upgrade and doesn’t justify its 51k MSRP.
      Ford & Chevy are scamming folks so badly that the manufacturers have asked dealers to quit overcharging customers. The pandemic is responsible for this; Currently Dodge is offering the better deals and reliability on their indestructible pickup trucks

Chevy and Ford both have been so cheap with their matierials and even the metals on their trucks which are thin and dent super easily. You pay more for way less quality and longevity. If my tranny or engine blows I simply get another one since the rest of the truck is gonna hold up longterm.

    Really debatable truck being completely honest it might be better than ram in a few categories . I build both a ram truck and a Silverado online and for 53k you can get the Silverado with leather interior as well as the 10 speed and the 13 inch digital cluster and not to mention for $445 you can get the multiplex tailgate versus the ram barn opening-tailgate that cost $995 and idk if the remote start comes included in the LT trim but they don’t charge you like ram for $135. The only deal breaker that might prevent getting the 2022 Silverado might be the front end but just like Ben said you have to see it in person and also the 5.3 v8 is having problems with pushrods destroying themselves. Overall it’s a really debatable truck because the 10 speed improves acceleration and fuel economy and the Silverado is lighter truck than ram and not to mention that it comes standard with the 13 inch screen and cluster is really convenient.

    So they had an opportunity to fix it and they didn't fix the engine?! That was their main problem. The 5.3 has v6 power, which isn't saying much, and mpgs suck too. The weak sauce engine is why I traded in '18 Silverado for a '20 Ram, and then later for '21 Ecoboost. POWER! My '18 Silverado with the 5.3 struggled to tow a 2 ton travel trailer up the mountains, but my '21 F150 will roast the tires all the way the steepest of hills and mountains. The new LED screens are mostly devoid of color, except for the animation novelty for a few seconds. The real reason for them, is that they're cheaper for the manufacturer than individual gauges, which is why so many are showing up as the full center stack.

    Been looking a lot at f150’s and do like some features I see here. The middle front seat looks far better and actually has vents/usb for rear seats. I also like the multifunction gate option. Heard mixed histories of the Duramax: some love (esp in Canada where diesel is cheaper) but when things break, sounds expensive! Every f150 2.7L owner loves that engine and it gets similar towing/payload specs to the gmc/Chevy.

    • @jakes5530
      @jakes5530 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Im generally a Ford guy, but this seems like a much better value. F150 is 3-5k more expensive when similarly spec'd. I basically built and priced out a LT with every option except leather and Z71 and it came in at $59k, an equally optioned XLT F150 was $63k. Silverado also has the advantage of 4auto on all trims (great for the winter /rain) whereas you have to step up to the Lariat F150 to get that feature. Silverado is also offering like $2500 in incentives and low financing rates right now, I've basically seen zero deals on any 2022 F150s so far.

    • @gregoryf9299
      @gregoryf9299 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! Even the pricier diesel puts it at less than f150 and better mileage and oper costs lifetime than any f150 engine. I also like the multi gate and even that the rear seats have an armrest (XLT f150 does not, which is a little lame).

    • @jakes5530
      @jakes5530 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregoryf9299 id be tempted to go with the 2.7 turbo as I dont having towing needs above 5000#, plus 310 hp and 430 lb/ft and less weight, that thing has got to be a rocketship. Agree that the multipro tailgate is awesome. Half ton trucks have gotten so tall that the average height guy really needs to get into the bed to access any cargo, the multipro fold down feature is a game changer and allows you to reach further into the bed while standing on the ground - admittedly Ram and Ridgeline are the ultimate for this, but the Multipro is the best of both worlds since it offers a wide sturdy step too.

    We have a '21 Silverado LT with the 5.3 and 8-speed. The new dashboard and infotainment setup, especially the latter, are a big upgrade, but I think you might have a different opinion of the seats if you spend more than an hour sitting in them. We have the same cloth seats on ours and they are rock hard so we have to use memory foam seat bottom cushions to make long drives bearable. I'm also jealous these now ship with the 10-speed transmission and DFM disabled from the factory on the 5.3. We had our lifters fail at 585 miles so I always drive the truck in L7 to disable DFM. I really hope they level up the quality on this refresh for the sake of anyone interested in one, but we're already looking to get rid of our '21 since it's been a lemon (I've been to the dealer for six unplanned repairs in 15 months, not including regular maintenance).
