- FIRST DRIVE: The Silverado is bringing some BIG changes from Chevrolet for 2022. The High Country is made to compete with the Ford F-150 Limited, Ram 1500 Limited & GMC Sierra Denali. On the outside you will discover a new grill, headlights, wheels, and badging. On the inside you will find an all new infotainment system, digital dash, and leather materials. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 that pumps out 420HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2022 Chevy Silverado High Country the KING of luxury trucks?

So glad Chevrolet finally got a new interior. Very much needed. Sad to see the column shifter go away but that digital touch screen was long overdue.
Nothing wrong console shifter
My dad has the Silverado LT 2022 and has the column shifter.
Got the 2022 RST shifter on the column!
There's some models that still have the column shifter like the Custom trim level.
I do like with console shifter combine paddle shitfter on column really fun to drive it
This should have been how the Sierra and the Silverado when they were fully redesigned in 2019

Now the problem is. Due to zero inventory and insane demand. The days of the $10,000 off msrp deals are long gone. The dealer thinks they are doing you a favor by selling you a new truck at msrp. I absolutely love the refreshed 2022 Silverado interior and some of the extra electronics. But I think I’ll keep my 2020 Silverado LTZ crew cab 6.2l. I am shocked at what my dealership offered for trade towards a refresh model. I was offered more than what I paid for the truck 2 years ago. The truck market is absolutely nuts right now.
After this facelift chevy made some nice changes. Exterior especially from the front got a good aggressive change. The interior especially on this trim got big changes and for the better. The people that want a digital dash they got it. Chevy delivered it like most of the competition has
Chevy went all out with this refreshed Silverado!!! The front end looks better...I'd black that grill out, but as is, it's looking decent. And the interior finally looks better too!!! Awesome review Joe and Lori!!! Looking forward to seeing the other truck coverage you have coming our way guys!!!

That High Country Is Super Luxurious But The LTZ Is My Favorite I Loved The 6.2L Big Boy V8 That Is My Favorite Engine.
Loving the Silverado and you know you've made it when you have large screens. One thing it's missing is a refrigerator on the center console.

Not sold on the exterior yet. But the interior is definitely a big thumbs up from me! Though I would honestly get the F150 Limited for my money.
This would be more of a match for the king ranch the limited would be more of the denali ultimate competition

I do love the matte appearance of the white paint. It gives us something different.
I like that they use chrome on the wheels as accents instead of the main feature! Not crazy about too much chrome but this looks good.
Keeping it real with a 6.2 n/a v8,Gm is just doing the right thing

I love the exterior. Prefer it over the f150. It is more modern. For the interior I know the Tahoe and I like it a lot so this is more or less the same. Never entered an f150. Thanks for your videos. Always informative and entertaining.

The GM trucks used to have the most dated interiors, but now they are class leading. Now, it's the Ford interior that looks a step behind what you get in the Ram, Silverado or Tundra.
They did such a great job with this Silverado!
Yeah, all of a sudden Ford's interior now looks outdated lol.
Hope they get to the HD line soon.

I’m debating on F-150 Limited or High country….. i’m new to trucks and learning more about them. I just really want something that’s very reliable and luxurious inside. I’m leaning towards Limited but i hear a lot of bad things about them. Not so much on the newer models (2021+) but i just want honest opinions that’s all. Thank you for these truck reviews too.
Good looking truck. I’m kinda liking the design more than the GMC Denali. Years ago painted bumpers were the cheap way to go and nowadays they’re on the top trims. My how times have changed. Thanks Joe and Lori. Well done! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

My question is how can you afford the gas I know my family has a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 and it's $125 to fill up here in Florida
@@scmreport2457 the only problem with electric vehicles are there not great for long road trips and it depends where you live do you live where there's a where there's a lot of charging stations. And you realize the Tesla charging stations aren't compatible with Ford because they're on different Chargers which is kind of dumb they should all be Universal
@@thetreverpitts There are charging stations but it will put you out of route sometimes. I am ok with that. I travel once or twice a year.
@@scmreport2457 well where I live the cheapest gas you can find is $3.99 most average gases $4.09 to $4.16 but again my family has basically the same truck but a 2020 and they pay about $125 to fill up but again no matter what $100 to fill up your gas tank it's a lot
I just bought one of these two days ago. It doesnt have the super cruise and it has a 5.3l but that still packs a heavy punch imo. It was hard to find one and I drove an hour and a half away to a different city to buy it. I absolutely love this truck. Its comfortable and rides really smooth which with my disabilities and pain from a neck injury at work makes me really appreciate this truck. My other car is a chevy blazer and I like that one a lot too but Im 6'2" and this is way better for me.

My new 2022 High Country 6.2L is in transit. Expected to arrive early next month. After watching hundreds of truck reviews, your video review convinced me that I made the right choice over other truck brands despite no panoramic sunroof and air circulating back seats. One option not mentioned (or I missed it) is the Z45-Suspension Package- Adaptive Ride Control. Any opinion on the option? Tom
10 mins into the video and the big question is about AFM /DFM…Chevy hosed soooo many customers who may never come back with lifter issues, torque converters, clunky shifting, etc.
It's about time GM did something right (with their pickup truck interiors). I'm actually digging this Chevy Silverado. (Though I would still prefer the GMC Sierra.)
It's also very refreshing that a naturally-aspirated V8 is still available. (There's simply no replacement for displacement.) Although I do miss that infamous GM (seat belt) bong, haha!

Dang, this High Country is GORGEOUS. It looks extremely beautiful from the outside. The interior looks amazing as well. I've always liked the GMC/Chevy interior, so I've never had an issue with them tbh. The only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't really tell them apart. The GMC & Chevy interior on the Silverados/Sierras/Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban & etc all looked exactly the same. They needed to switch them up a bit. Especially with the Denali. Since the Denali was the most expensive/luxurious variant, they really needed to upgrade it even more. I think these interiors finally look a lot more luxurious & modern, so that's a good thing. The only thing I don't like is the color on some parts of this interior. But that's more of a customer choice. I'm not a huge fan of a blue or red interior. I feel like those colors do not age well in cars. I mean when you look at an 80s/90s car like Cadillacs that have blue or red interiors they look terrible & tacky as well. Maybe these will age better. But only time will tell lol.
The only difference on the S UV's is the top trims Same with the trucks Any interior below the highest trims they all look identical except for the highest trims

Where would gm put the cooling mechanism in the rear seats if they are designed to fold up unlike the front seats?
How do you pull the 2022 tundra if they come with the recovery hooks?😅
It shares a similar side profile to the new Tundra with the sharp fender lines, but the front end is much better looking on this.

Just bought this exact truck in NC (same color and specs for $72,365 sticker with no "market adjustment" bullshit) and it will be arriving here in CT this week. I never owned a Chevy truck before and this beast is replacing my good old 5.4L V8 2010 Ford F150 FX4. I've had ZERO issues with my Ford until the 188,000 mile mark rolled in (with thousands of miles of towing), so I'm hoping this beautiful Chevy will be as reliable or better.

This Silverado getting a lot of attention seems getting better. I love the refresh front end changes one thing not fond be Chevrolet logo on tailgate prefer long Silverado logo on tailgate or no writing at all like the 2007-2013 Silverado tailgates most didn't have the Chevy logo like had been shaved off. Got same love for the Silverado as with new Tundra can't stop thinking got same love with these two trucks as with the Pathfinder and Frontier.
Which would you recommend The new Tundra capstone or Silverado High country???
Dang it sets so low, like wow it almost looks like it has a lowering kit! A 2 inch lift gets it normal height why did they make it so low?
Too low for me too. A front leveling kit is needed right out of the gate.

I like the way it looks. Personally I whould go with a dark blue or red paint .
Would love it if Chevy put the borla exhaust in the High Country like they did with their ZR2.
Should have put the rear entertainment like they do the SUVS to me that would have made it even more premium at least should have made it available on the Sierra Denali.

these trucks are surprisingly easy to drive, don't feel big at all, yet feels like you're cruising in a high rise condo at the same time.

This chevy Joe wins me over! Now comparing it to the F150 limited I do like the looks of it over this Silverado. I do think Bumble Bee and the transformers would approve the look of the Silverado Lol. But hats off to chevy for really taking note of the things that had to change for the Silverado from 2019 to 2021. 2022 is a big step up in tech and luxury. Chevy, keep up the great work! Love this truck. Finally Chevy and GMC slaps the competition. Still needs the longer bed in the high trim levels and ventilated rear seats but this is a awesome truck

Good video, you must of been hungry when you made the video lol It's a cool truck but I went middle of the road and got the silverado Z71 RST! I love it more everyday! W/ the RST there's less chrome thank god! I don't care for a lot of Chrome anymore, less is more in my book.

Did Chevrolet fix the rear spring problem? I had an extra spring added to each side and still had the passenger side break after I got stuck in my snow filled yard. I had packed down my parking spot and backed up too far lol. Little wheel spin and about 12 mins of manuvering, I got out ha ha. Sold!

I’m a big fan of the new exterior look but I wish the interior finish would be the color of the 2016 high country’s, brown.
What is the towing capacity?
Unlike so many other Chevrolet top trims the interior doesn’t look cheap. I wish Chevrolet would bring this quality to the top trims on its other vehicles, particularly the Blazer. It would make their prices more tolerable.
Couldn't agree more. I still think they are too highly priced, but unlike the Blazers which looks like a 30k vehicle in the inside this at least this is competitive with others in this segment
They should have left the blazer in the grave! They did it NO justice. It can’t even compare to a Bronco or Wrangler these days… it’s like the Chevy Lumina of SUVs.. the new Mazdas and Mitsubishi’s blow the blazer out of the water.
This makes the Tundra Capstone look like a 1987 Yugo
