    A number of different versions exist, but you can get hub ventilation systems to help prevent any portal box oil migration.

    First check the level ports before draining oil, for sometimes there is MORE than the given amount of oil. In that case oil out of the axis did drip towards the portals.

    Hi, thank you for this nice video. In my old Operating Instructions Unimog 435 there is (Chap. 4) axle planetary hub drive 0.25l for u1300 and 0.6l for U1700. In the service manual it's respectively 0.3l and 0.6l. I think that 0.3 is rounding to decimal 0.25. So in newer models it's 0.35 - interesting.

      Thanks for the comment. So 2.5L I think is same as my manual. Not sure how I got 3.5L out of one of them.

    Nice video - job well done 👍. I always carried an infra red temperature gun in my U1300L to measure the temp of each hub after a long drive. It is very quick and easy and gives you an early heads up of any issues in a hub. I put Castrol TRANSMAX Universal LL 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Transmission Fluid in the hubs on my U1300L.
    Swapped to a U3000 last year which is currently being converted into an Expedition Vehicle & we’re hoping to visit N. America this year. I have the U1300L manuals in pdf - so let me know if you want a copy.

      I'm using a temperature gun on my 1350L, but not sure what reading should cause alarm. Any guidance on that?

      @@monty7336 I’m not an expert, but if they’re running at 60-70C you’re good. Discussing this with ACPrice recently they thought you were fine upto around 100C.

    Maybe put a paper towel or rag over the magnet to check the waste oil, then you won't have debris stuck to your magnet . Just an idea

      Thanks! The manual says every 1200 hours or 40000 Kilometers.

    Interesting vid 👍 but it's strange to use 75w140, this is the first time that I see this🤔 I use only 75w90 hypoïd oil on my 2150

    May i humbly suggest using a decent torque wrench , fitting to the designated torque value on those filler and drain bolts

      Thank you - I did actually torque them, just didn’t film it. I had to look up the specs. Good advice though
