Good job guys! Another informative video tackling the real problems of owning an over-landing vehicle. Regarding the opinions. Just remember, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one.

Thanks, Alwyn! Much appreciated, and yes... I agree. 😁👍🏻

Great video, as always. The nut and bolt on top of the reservoir. Is it purely construction, or does that undo to allow inspection of the gunk collection in the reservoir?

Sorry, but without watching the video, or crawling under the truck, or travelling back in time, I can’t answer for sure, but a very qualified guess is that no, it’s. Of for inspection. You’re probably better draining the hubs and putting new oil in. They’d probably like that anyway.
      Sorry for the vague answer.

Thanks Victor! I wish I would have done a better one, but it turned out quite well after all the editing. 😎👍🏻

Informative video Jocke, as always. I was feeling a bit smug when you struggled to get the oil filler pipe into the RH hub as I've got a volume bucket for pumping gear oil.
Thanks for sharing and keep em coming and keep em coming

Thanks Barry! Feel free to feel smug! I’ve topped them up before, but I just forgot, so hence the failed attempt. But luckily Keef came to the rescue! 😉👍🏻

Very good point, and thanks for the support! As long as everybody enjoys their own trucks, I'll be very pleased! 😎👍🏻

I love 90s websites with work in progress signs 🙈

Animated gifs with worker signs digging. Don’t forget about the running moose. Or the exploding line, with a bomb at one end. Hahah. Great times.

I too aplied an axle breather kit. However, I never measured high temperatures in the hubs (not before and not after appying).
Be carefull! Because the steering wheels rotate, one of the tubes broke while the diff was on. Since the Unimog 1300 has overpressure in de axles and gears the air sissed out and made me pannic. I was able to easily fix it, but be warned.

Thanks for the heads up on the air pressures in the axles. It's easy to forget, even when we know that the diff locks are operated by air pressure. Thanks!

@@JockeSelin It's not only the actuation, Unimog give overpressure when the Diffs are locked (0,5 bar or something), on the lights and in the transmission housing so that water cannot enter.
I read that some people put a lever on the outside to manually close and open it because being not in the military you dont really need it that often :D

Yeah, again, I’ve read it, but as my memory is a bit short, I tend to forget. 🤪👍🏻

How are these breathers 2 years down the line?

    • @JockeSelin

Not much to report - the truck has essential not moved since the install. 😬 😞
