I think part of Matt Olson's problem in 24 is that he didn’t have Ronald on base. It affected Riley and the whole lineup. Ronald in the straw that stirs the lineup.
To put into context the value of the 20 mil club option. That is already lower than the current day qualifying offer. If the qualifying offer went up the same amount every year till 2030 (which it won't and who knows it could be gone after the next CBA negotiations) it would be I think around 25 million.
With Matt Olson at 1st base, the Braves will have a future HOF player at 1st base for 20 straight years, at least. Freddie will be a HOFer and Matt Olson will too because he will reach 500 home runs before retiring.
@@Alex.Jensenhe would only need to average just over 28 hr/year to make 400 by the end of his contract. And that’s if they don’t pick up his option for 2030. Excluding the 2020 season he has only hit less than 29 HRs once and that was in 2017 (his rookie season) when he only played 59 games and still hit 24hr. I think Matt easily gets to 400 and 450 shouldn’t be all that difficult either. 500 would be tougher but not out of the question.
@jeffreyhumphries-jw2fo you're not too bright are you? It means nothing. Playing 158 is just as impressive as playing 162 and much smarter. It's also why Atl will never get any really good bench players, so when an injury does happen, they're fucked. Dale Murphy was one of those guys who played 5 or 6 years without missing a game, and it may have cost him the HOF because he fell off a fucking cliff at an early age.
Matt is the best. He will be great this new year!
I agree he is our man at 1st

Riley is much better than fine at third base. He's great at third!!
As we noted, there is a notable split on what people think about that lol but he’s at least fine or better!

@guyfaith Olson's contact skill won't hold up into his mid to late 30s. He will be lucky to get to 400 HRs.
I would gladly bet the over on 400 career HR for Olson.
@HammerTerritory same here but it'll be 408-430 range tops. Contact needs to improve for 500.
Olson is not a HOF. Really good player, but there are several 1st baseman who played at the same time who were better.

The best Ability is Availabilty 😉
@@brandonpiper4683 playing 155-160 games isn't because one is unavailable. It's called being a manager and actually managing players.
@@chadwhitfield6946 you IMPLIED that, I said what I said, which applies, beat it nerd.
He literally alternates Great and Good years since he came in the league...what could that be about?
The most likely explanation is just variance lol
So at his worst is good....sounds great to me
Nobody cares about playing 600 games straight. It's the most overrated thing in sports.
Dumbest comment yet!!
