Its Bichette for Lux and a pitching prospect. Cause they know he is a guy that can lead the league in hits every year and thats worth far more than a lux. Both teams win 100% and really the Dodgers are the only team here signing him long term.
Guy was bad the whole season then might have figured something out the last 4 games. Has potential to have a good season has decent stuff maybe pitch selection is key but a one year prove it deal is a win win.
I don't think the value is all that off, but it would be GM malpractice if a Pittsbugh team that on paper is 4th in the NL Central, dealt for a rental player. If they somehow find themselves witing a game or two of the division leader at the deadline? Maybe.
Dodgers already said that Mookie Betts is the Starting Shortstop! Also have Tommy Edman, Chris Taylor and Miggy Rojas to fill in behind him! Dodgers need an Elite Outfielder more than a Shortstop.
The Dodgers aren't just going to throw away Gavin Lux he was in the top thirteen in hitting last year and played a nice second base Andy pages would be more likely and bichette is on the last year of his contract
@WeBeatMedicare6969 no but with Bo being a rental it's too big of a price Lux had a great second half and Tommy Gonsolin fits the Dodgers six man rotation
Bichette for Lux and Gonsolin is a yes for me, especially if Sasaki goes to Dodgers. Giants after signing Adames is not even looking at Bichette anymore
as a Ms fan I wouldnt trade 3 years of cas for 1 of bo. Why not run a 5 man very good rotation when some of your best farm bats are between 1 and 2 yrs out? I would keep the arm and wait over rushing him out the door. Maybe I would be swayed the other direction if not for the fact that all the mid priced 2nd and 1st basemen in FA have already flown off the board leaving alonzo and bregmen left to which seattle wouldnt bring in EVEN IF they traded Cas because the money on both are way to rich for mariners owners.
@@plus790 Please explain to me what "steady regression" means? Is a pitcher not allowed to have a down year? You people talk about athletes like once they show any signs of not being elite that it's a downward spiral from here on out. From what I can see, his peripherals more or less were consistent with his last 4 seasons. And $23 million a year is a bargain considering what worse, older pitchers are getting around the league right now. You want to talk about regression? Look at Bo Bichette who was borderline unplayable last year. "Oh he was playing hurt." Yet you probably wouldn't give that excuse to Castillo who struggled with a hamstring issue last year.
@@plus790 LOL "steady Regression" of a single year. so we want to count Castillo's regression but not Bo's??? dude forgot how to play baseball last year while Castillo was still a very solid pitcher well worth his salary. Walker Buhler with his 5.00 ERA just got 22 million.

Toronto is not going to extend him unless Vladdy announces that he's leaving. I don't see where TOR has any leverage to ask for more than he's worth. With thast being said, the Dodgers trade you came up with is realistic.
Ha as a lifelong Dodgers fan, it's just hilarious that people in the industry believe that Lux is such a valuable asset for a team. The idea of a Bo for Lux trade happening with Toronto fans being happy is impossible to imagine! Id not hesitate for a single second to do that deal for the Dodgers. If Lux is truly valued in the world by so many teams; Dodgers need to strike now and see what they can get from other teams around the league
Gavin Lux plus Tony Gonsolin for Bo Bichette? Are you kidding? I say Gavin Lux for Bichette and another Toronto player. Lux was decent in 2024 and Bichette was garbage. I think the ceiling is higher for Lux than Bichette
Sorry to say, but there is no way that the Jays can sell hi on Bichette after last year. Certainly not at almost double his value. As a Dodger fan, I would say doing Bichette for Lux straight up would be an overpay for the Dodgers
That's what I was thinking Goslin is a stud with a couple of years left of team control lux with a couple of years left of team control for Bo with one year straight up that's a really good trade for both teams
Gonsolin is expendable...Yamamoto, Ohtani, Glasnow, Snell, Kerhsaw, Knack, Miller & there are more. As for Lux, when both Gavin & Bo are on, Bo is the better bat.
As a dodgers fan he isn’t wrong. Lux might not have a spot on the roster soon if he isn’t able to keep up offensively next year and than all his value would be gone. Tony Gonsolin could be decent but if he’s injured again, his value is gone, to much of a risk! What are you gonna do with yrs of control than? I would do that trade in a heart beat. Bo when healthy is way better than Lux with a bat and you take that risk with that kind of upside
Bo is a risk on both sides. The Jays need 1 or 2 good players in return. If not they keep him and trade at trade deadline maybe getting better or worse prospects. The worst thing would be the Jays keeping him then they're in the running for a wild card spot, they play out the season and all they get is a comp pick.
Lux was recovering from the knee issue first half. Check out his BA etc after the All-Star game. He was a Top 5 in the NL or at least Top 3 on Dodgers. Plus check his pattern for hits. So now that his head is back from the year off knee injury, he is higher than a 8.2 so you need to adjust. Gonsolin was a fireball until his injury and who knows where he will be, but 1.8M for an SP in Arb?
People want to quickly write off lux but he had a good rookie year….the spring thing where he suffered that terrible injury….he was amazing…coming back from injury had his yeeps but pulled through second half and in the postseason

Bo Bichette is OK, but that's assuming he _fully_ rebounds from injury. But even if you trade away whatever it takes to get him from the delusional Blue Jays who think their window is still open, 1) you're still paying him almost $18M for 2025, 2) he's a rental, 3) his power has regressed every year since his first full season, and 4) defensively we're talking about a guy who put up a -16 DRS in 2022--that's Christopher Morel levels!

Toronto has coveted Castillo and it is a good deal. Toronto could give Vlad 10 years/500 and Bo 10 years/400 million. Turn them into the Canseco and McGwire. People dismiss their marketablility but both sell jerseys and tickets. Overpaying keeps them off the market. Bo has less consistency with bat and attitude so would not miss him as much as Vlad.
