    I've not used threadlocker for many of these things. Certainly not the clamps to hold the hoses. I've been told that those spacers will mess up handling also. Not sure that's true, but I'd think especially for the front end it would, - especially if you didn't do the rears the same way. thanks for the video tho!!

    About to do this for my 11 gt. That link you attached for front pads don’t appear to be the correct ones unless the pic on Amazon is generic. They appear to be for stock calipers (floating) not (fixed) the new 4 piston calipers you installed. Great video btw!

      Thank you for the positive feedback. I think Amazon changed it to a generic picture because the description states, "This kit is compatible with:2007 - 2008 Ford Mustang - SHELBY GT500 Models 2009 - 2012 Ford Mustang - SHELBY Models 2011 Ford Mustang - Base or GT models with 4 Piston Front Calipers 2012 - 2014 Ford Mustang - Base, GT, or Boss 302 models with 4 Piston Front Calipers"
      Hopefully, they didn't screw up the product links.

    This was pretty much spot on as far as a how to for installing the 4 piston Brembos for the front and stock rear pad, rotor and brake line replacement. I was even able to bleed mine by myself. lol

      The main issue we saw with new calipers was not the wheel diameter, but the offset. We found several people with 20" wheels that touched the caliper. Their offset needed attention. Very good point to address though.

    • @mcgurrentertainment
      @mcgurrentertainment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why a new dust shield? Just P-M or is it for clearance? IE this dust shield is matched to the newer caliper? Also will this work for 18" wheels?

    • @mcgurrentertainment
      @mcgurrentertainment  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The new dust shield was used to match the new rotors (it's slightly bigger). If I recall, the OEM dust shield didn't interfere with clearance for the caliper nor wheel. Sadly, I can't confirm the wheel clearance. The majority of the issues were in the wheel offset (the spokes hitting the caliper). 18 in wheels might fit, but don't quote me.

  • @DippinItUp1
    @DippinItUp1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great detailed instillation, very informative. The only thing Ill note that could be changed (although not a necessity) is switching the inner brembo brake pad to the outer side towards the wheel face. The pad you installed on the inner side of the caliper has the metal wear sensor on it and I typically like having it face the outside so I can verify the pad thickness remaining every once in a while just by looking through the spokes of the wheel.

    Hi. Are the two links for the calipers meant to be for one each side? Or can I just buy 2 of either links?

      Yes, one for each side (Driver side and Passenger Side).

    What were the spacers for in the rear?

      If I recall, I think they are 1" spacers.

      @@mcgurrentertainment I’m sorry, I meant why did you need and install the spacers?
      I have a 2013 Boss 302… everyone loves all of those high performance options that come with the car… until it’s time to replace/repair them. I’m going to have to take a mortgage on my house to replace my pads, rotors, and calipers. 💰 💰 💰 😢
      Probably half the cars I’ve owned in my lifetime cost me less than this brake job.
      I grew up restoring cars with my dad in the late 70s and have always done my own repairs (except computer crap on newer cars). Geesh!!!! Pads used to be $6.00, turning a rotor was $5.00… and I never remember having to replace calipers (except rebuilding the faulty calipers on corvettes - $10.00 kit).
      But to be fair, if I had the income in 1978 that I have now, I would have been a billionaire… so to speak.
      C’est la vie!!

      I gotcha, good question. The spacers were a preference by the owner. He wanted the wheels to sit "flush" with the fenders. It's more of a cosmetic addition.
      I do miss working on the older cars. Love being able to climb in the engine bay as soon as you pop the hood, very spacious. And you are right, car parts are no longer generic replacement items; everything is customized and expensive.
