The way they disrespect Enzo Fernandez is so crazy. Rory defended Sterling (who’s supposed to be a premier league veteran) by saying he’s been “set up to fail”. Meanwhile he slanders Enzo who came in and played half of 2023 as a 6, which limited his creative abilities because he had to sit back and be the anchor in midfield. And I can’t help but notice how Rory always seems to defend the English players no matter how bad they are meanwhile he nitpicks any reason to hate on the foreign players

Not bad, but not that good either. He literally had half a year of top flight football before moving to chelsea.
On the Enzo topic i feel hes done okay, he averages more through passes per 90 then any other midfielder in the prem and he is ranked fourth in more passes forward per 90. On top of that some of his passes are a delight to see. if only the chelses forwards could score from his passes you would see people praising him more.

The Enzo take is outrageous. Last season, he was basically our best player from January on. He has excellent vision and passing range, and he brings an aggression and physicality to the team that is needed in the Prem. That said, he has been poor this season. I have to believe Pochettino and the failed partnership with Caicedo are partly to blame for this. Under a better manager, Enzo has the ingredients to be a world class CM. He could be a more physical Fabregas in the future.
Also, Rory placing Jackson over Enzo is absolutely embarrassing. Jackson has next to no composure in the box and scores a goal after missing 3-4 clear-cut chances. He has scored 7 goals in the Prem, but if he took his chances more often, he'd have 15. Terrible striker. And does Adam actually watch Chelsea? He praised Sanchez, but trashed Enzo and Gusto 💀

Rating wasteful Sterling highly while slandering out of position Enzo who is the most creative part of a midfield that creates one of the higest xGs in the league. If Enzo was at City or Liverpool he would be their best midfielder and carry their side, he's just surrounded by actual ahead of him and behind him. This season, Gallagher has outperformed caicedo and enzo.
City and Pep didn’t make a mistake with Palmer. He wanted a guarantee of more game time in a team that had Foden, Grealish, and Silva ahead of him. He is a very similar player to all those 3 so he would be fighting for a spot. Chelsea come in with a good offer and he wants to go. City have proven time and time again that they will not keep unhappy players. Long term, after 5 seasons, we will see if it was a real mistake but right now it’s not.

@@augment999 City don’t tend to send the top young prospects on loan as they would rather build them slowly into the team in a system so they understand it completely. Especially the players the club thinks could become a first team player.
Sending a player on loan might get them experience (if they get game time) but it won’t be City level experience or the same system City play so how much value long term is that really adding.
Foden is the model. He didn’t go on loan and became more and more involved until he became a first team player. Lewis is following him. These guys are patient whereas Palmer clearly thought he was a first team player and not a squad/rotation player.

@@madotarek2658 not directly comparable and wasn’t the choice. Doku was brought in to replace Mahrez as he brings something the other City wide players do not, raw pace and easy access the goal line. Palmer was not competing with Doku, he was competing with Foden, Grealish and Silva.
You could make an argument that long term City should have kept Palmer over Grealish based on age but that wasn’t the choice. The choice was sell a player for good money or keep an unhappy player and hope.
Rory your very wrong for saying raheem sterling is a perfect signing. That guy is a total flop at chelsea he hasnt done anything but hes the most experience and other young players like palmer are playing better than him. Hes been horrible honestly. And as for enzo I think hes a very good player but the coach tactics is really not helping him and so many other players in that team. The only player pochettino tactics is favouring is Gallagher and he isnt even technically good enough to play for chelsea.
Palmer did an interview saying he didn't want to leave city but he knew he had to as he wasn't gonna start at city and was starting to feel unhappy because of it.
City understood and cashed in when his stock was high and got a ton of money for him.

Bad signing from another league "the league is SO slow". Bad signing from the prem i.e. Sterling "He did the best he could at Chelsea". There needs to be a certain amount of respect for other leagues, some times it is not the player but the system and players not fitting into the same system. Haaland had less goal involvements per game in germany than in the prem. That doesn't mean that the prem is worse than the bundes liga.
Exactly, they said that Koulibaly comes from a slow league, that’s why he flopped, forgetting that he was 31 and joined a terrible Chelsea team. Caicedo, Sterling, and Cucurella are EPL proven and they’ve failed too. They also forgot that their last great defender, Rudiger, performed a lot better in England than he did in Italy.
@@Cobmetal1 No they said you have to be careful with lower paced leagues. Koulibaly is an example of someone who couldn't handle the pace difference, and dropped off in quality as a player at the worst possible time. You need to be more careful is they're belief which i think is right.

enzo is a quality player. His talents gave been stifled but he'll end up being an excellent elite midfielder down the road. one of the best chelsea players last season easily, and at the start of this season, has had a bit of a lull due to being played as a DM which he's not, and has just scored an excellent free quick. Really class player.

I think it's harsh to blame City for letting Palmer go. He knew he wasn't going to get regular gametime ahead of Foden and Silva. Instead of being in the bench another season, he asked Pep to let him go. Pep himself said he wasn't available for loan. He either stayed or was going to be sold. Good decision by Palmer.

He's played more minutes in the PL than Nunez, Hojlund, Nketiah and Jesus. Also, only 2 goals ahead of Nunez and Nketiah after getting 3/7 goals against a 9-man team who handed it to Chelsea on a plate.
