How ironic, watched the Norsca experience videos, MAX TESTOSTERONE. cruised through my VERY FIRST ME campaign as them on normal, popped Couronne, told Archeaon to jump off a bridge, and he came at me with Kholek, and random chaos lords. Got that buff for popping chaos which is -75% upkeep across the board, MMM!!! Helped me get 7 armies up and going full of mammoths!! (P.S. why did I not see any of those regiment of reknown you showed besides the frost wyrm and the Ice Cannon?)
you need to make a total war access account and "unlock" the 30th anniversary RoR pack from the website in order to get the other Regiments of Renown (The pack also had the Bretonnian, Wood Elf, and Chaos RoRs)
Skin wolves are my absolute preferred anti cav unit and I much prefer them to actual Norscan cav, can clear up archers or just counter enemy cav if they have the high mobility superiority (like Bretonnia)
Personally I very much like the Manticors and sometimes bring them rather than a Frostwyrm since the Manticors Do an excellent Job in Sieges against Archers on Walls and you can easily get their building in captured capitols if they Happen to Die. Also I always mixed the Marauder Champions with Shields and Greatweapons.
Great video! Why do British make the best TW videos? My only real issue is I love Skin Wolves but they don't have any armor piercing so I don't really know exactly who to target with them. Aside from minotaurs, trolls and cheap cav most large targets are armored. I actually had my first MP game ever the other day. I played Norsca vs. Vampire Counts. Femir and beserkers were the backbone of my army and I won!
Btw you can set keys to move time in the controls menu. Ex if the time is slow mode and you have the hotkey to move time up you could press that hotkey to move up time.
Marauders rule. Get the Bladeworker's hammer, Metalworker's Anvil, and butchers captives' tech, then get you Lord's "Fearsome Warriors" skill maxed out and the use Skinwolf heroes for the fighting buffs and viola, dirt cheap infantry that will fight to the death and do tremendous damage in the process.
Well, even being an absolute newbie in TW (just a month now), I've already realized that to be "APM non-intensive" as a Dawi you either have to play with constant pausing (which I do; also, does pushing the P button counts as an action?), or totally not use aircraft and Slayer (which, ironicallly, I'm also doing right now playing as Belegar Ironhammer)
@@Razielts1 out of interest what do you like about warshrine mammoths? They're worse than the war mammoth in almost every way, they have less hp, more upkeep and recruitment cost (good thing norca's economy is so strong...:( , require a t5 building rather than t4, don't have that sweet constant ranged attack. And in exchange for all of that, they get an ok leadership buff?
@@sympunny8636 they have encourage = +8 leadership if no lord / hero is nearby, +10 leadership ( that one stacks ) and finally they have an active buff you can give to a specific unit of +16 leadership +24 melee attack and imbue fire damage. With 2 warshrine mammoths you can give that buff to the other mammoths, the skin wolves, or any unit you see needs the buff, so yeah i prefer to have 2 buffs and less ranged dps so i can make other units stronger.
@@Razielts1 i guess but then you're making weaker units ok through leadership buffs, instead of making strong units, stronger and cheaper and easier to get, I mean, you can just spam an entire army of war mammoths and they'll eat through anything, you don't need to buff the leadership of your marauders and trolls so they don't run away like the cowards they are, (man, greenskin trolls are so much better than norscan ones, what happened there?) Not that you need to do that, but either way at that point you normally already have units with decent leadership, so you're building to t5, upgrading, getting a secondary building (taking up slots) otherwise you're not allowed to recruit war mammoths, paying more both recruitment and upkeep per turn, giving up health and a really solid ranged attack, for some leadership and one melee attack buff? It's really not the most exciting given how the t4 variant is possibly the best unit in the game. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with playing with units you like, whether they're good or not, but the warshrine is just such a disappointment compared to the war mammoth. The ranged attack alone makes it so much faster at clearing through units, since it keeps constantly firing while in melee.
about the ''rush'' strat, i have tried for lols to make an all horsemaster/horsemen with axes army, it was FAR from as good as mammoths but it opened up a lot of strategies with ambushing (Ambush without the ambush stance) and such... Really fun but not as powerfull
funny your comment about playing this with a xbox controller as I have over 200 hours in this game with just an Xbox controller! I work on a pc all day and have had some RSI issues, and using a controller is just more comfy than more Keyboard & Mouse plus I enjoy playing on my 65 inch TV in steam big picture mode. The game plays fine you just have to pause more and it can get annoying with more micro intensive armies or units with abilities but overall the game still plays well enough with group commands and movement + pause.
@@pvtdraco yea steam controller settings. Turn down deadzones. Left stick mouse, right stick movement. D pad zoom and rotate. X and y left and right mouse. B pause, a group. Right trigger is shift key. Rb is next unit left shit is previous unit , left bumber is alt. Etc.. It works just need to pause more

Berserkers are one of the best infantry units of their tier. Bringing Great Weapons over THEM would be a mistake.
Artturi: Great Weapon Marauder have 10 more armour-piercing damage over Berserkers, that's it.
@@danielolsson7134 Thats why i like to bring along a metal caster. Glittering scales and plague of rust can compensate for the weakness of berserkers.

Well as Norsca you have to do the special champion challenges and hunts to unlock RoR units.

It's T by default to speed it up and I like to set SHIFT+T to slow time 👍
