Great video. I remember when I was a teenager, I wanted to install a ceiling fan for my mom's kitchen. The fan had 3 wires and the building had 2. I wish TH-cam existed back then.

How do I determine which wire is hot and which is not?

Use a multi meter to test which is hot usually white is hot black is ground or green is ground
