      Zelo they were probably in speeds around 140mph when he did that. By that time, who cares who is pulling. That kind of speed isn’t hit often. So the GTI, in the real world, is faster, with its mods.

    Would be quite interested in seeing what actual mods/tune the VW cars had. Seems like there is a lot ignorance in the general modding culture and spend money where not needed and not where it is needed, and end up with cars that are only marginally faster than stock. Which is also why it seems like finding a GTI that walks away from modified coyote mustangs is like seeing a unicorn, yet can be done likely with less money than most spend on their mods.

    • @JacesOwnWorld
      @JacesOwnWorld 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      MeltingRubberZ28 yes, a mod list would be nice to see. I find it hard to believe the second GTI in this video, was hybrid on E50, because it would be pulling a lot harder if it was. A stock IS20 on E50 would pull that hard. Maybe his tune wasn’t right, or something wasn’t working properly. It’s hard to say. I just know from personal experience because of the differences I’ve seen in my MK7 GTI after each mod.
      When I was on an OTS Eurodyne time, on stock IS20, Stage 2 91oct file, my GTI was faster than my friends 2014 Mustang GT with FBO and tune, making 404whp and not sure what tq. I was faster in 2nd and 3rd gear, but once we hit 4th gear and above, he would start gaining on me, and eventually be about a car or two lengths ahead at 140mph. Now that I’m IS38 with a custom tune, running 91oct still, I am bud lengths ahead of him after 140mph. In the rolling races I have done, I have personally kept up with a Tesla (not sure what model), have beaten an ISF, C7 Vette, SRT Charger and Challenger, Camaro SS’s, Mustang GT’s, Kia Stinger, EVO 9 (FBO, built motor, and dynotuned, stock turbo), several DSG MK7 GTI’s that were Stage 2 IS20 and one that was IS38, and many others such as STI’s, STT4’s, and turbo Honda’s which weren’t as powerful as the ones mentioned before. This is all done with me having a 6spd manual and stock fueling as well. So I don’t know. Maybe my car is faster per mod than other GTI’s. But I know the capabilities that hybrids have, and knowing ISF’s are not very fast, it’s hard to say that an ISF, even FBO, tunes, and reduced weight, could keep up with a hybrid MK7 GTI.

      @@JacesOwnWorld what clutch did you go with? I'm really thinking of sticking with the dual mass flywheel myself. It's not really substantiated but I really feel like some of the motor failures people have is due to the single mass flywheel and the "rattle" they get at idle. Harmonics in the bottom end of anything is a pretty good way to have a catastrophic failure.
      Also, where did you get your IS38? I found on DAP you can get one direct from IHI for right around a grand. Thinking I might end up down that road in a couple of years when I get bored of my current setup

      @@MeltingRubberZ28 I've been running SMF since 2016, no issues at all. I truly believe a lot of these cars with issues are from people not letting everything warm up and beating on them when still to cold. I'm pushing 430whp/430lbft. Take a look at my channel.

      @@SLWMK7 I doubt the the second care is a hybrid. Probably just a is38 on a ots tune. I see you have eqt in your videos do you have a vortex or you just tuned by eqt? 430whp I would say vortex on pump only. Is38 wouldn’t make that much power without hpfp, mpi, and e85.

      A F A Lexus IS related with Toyota. They’re marketing is garbage. Just like how Toyata thinks their FRS is worth $35k new, and their Supra is a good car, they still think that their V8’s are something special. They’re not. They’ve always tried to complete with the M3 ever since they made their ISF car, and the ISF always failed at doing so. Why anyone would ever buy an ISF for $80k+ over an M3, blows my mind. Lexus’s are for those who want to look cool, but really don’t know anything about cars.

      @@JacesOwnWorld I mean the supra's a good car lmao. It competes with the M2 and Cayman and easily beats both of them on value and even sets faster lap times on a track. Also, the 2021 supra has a 40 WHP bump because the re-designed b58 that was supposed to be for the supra is finally coming, it'll smoke the competition with this substantial power bump. So it's factually a good car, clearly, you don't understand the car, it has praise.
      As far as the whole brand Lexus being "marketing garbage" is straight laughable. Likewise with the idea that Lexus's are for people who don't know anything about cars. I'll wait till you name me a popular luxury brand that has anywhere near the reliability and accountability that Lexus's have, oh wait you can't. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes aren't anywhere close and arguing otherwise is pointless. Hell, Lexus, a luxury brand is often regarded as the MOST RELIABLE brand on earth, maybe that's a testament huh. Lexus has the best selling luxury car in the US, damn I'm sure that hurts.
      I'd never even purchase a Lexus but your ignorance is silly.

      @@JacesOwnWorld frs is a flop. The new supra are quick, let's just say all the new turbo cars are ridiculously quick and capable compared to old cars now. Not that old car are incapable, just new tech in general are easier to make power, but has gotten less reliable. Isf had always gave the same year m3 a run for it's money. Even their 1/4 are identical. The truth is Lexus always held it down, they just never advance with any new platform as to not screw up their reliability.

      Just curious Eric, what bad ass beast of car are you running? Would love to see some videos of your car tearing it up on highway😁. Oh you do know theres 700lbs difference between these two cars 3100lb GTI and 3800 ISF. GTI have always been quick cars. From mid 70's to today. How many cylinders doesn't mean anything like you said there are 8sec Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi etc. Once car is modded anything can be made fast. Its how much hp you make and can you put it down that matters. I recently watched 600hp (4) cyl eco boost Mustang beat GT Mustang so more cylinders doesn't guarantee win.😁👍
