    This shows that you are really passionate about what you do. Might not have got the "shot of the day" but still you didn't let those shots be put into waste (you ended up with a great video nonetheless). Keep the fire burning man you've got the talent and the will. 🙌🏼

      @@teocrawford Yeah, I probably found you searching for the GX80 :D I actually want to start some filming + photographing, probably same style as you do - I mean mostly foggy, dark. What gear would you recommend to a beginner for this type of shoots? I am more interested in filmmaking, so the GX80 seems like a great buy, because it has 5-axis IBIS and with 3 lenses (12-32 f3,5-5,6, 35-100 f4-56, 25 f1.7) it would cost me around 700 Euro and would be compact and quite unvisible… On the other hand for dark stuff a bigger sensor would be aprioprate, but cheaper Sony APS-C don’t have IBIS, so maybe I should go towards the A7II, but it has no 4K and the lenses are expensive, not excatly great fort he start. Aside the GX80 I’m also considering the Fujifilm XT-20 with 18-55 f2.8-4, which I could pick up for also around 700 Euro and it seems like a good deal, because maybe I would only have one lens, but a bright one (eventually I could buy later a Fujinon 50-230 f4,5-6,7 and 35mm f2), which for the same price in Sony APS-C cameras is not possible. But the Fuji has also no IBIS… And overall I like more zoomed look, so the GX80 set seems the most versatile. What would you recommend me to do? :D

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TrialBicycles pheew you've definitely looked into some stuff hahah :D
      I can't say much about the cameras apart from the Lumix. But I was wondering what exactly you'd be shooting in the dark - because if you don't shoot moving objects you could just put the GX80 on a tripod and increase the shutter speed - then the sensor will not matter.
      And concerning you lens choice - don't go in that quickly. I'm guessing the 12-32 is the kit lens? I don't know how good the deal is, I've seen prices which basically give that lens for free with the camera, but if that's not the case I would stay away from the kit lenses. The 25mm 1.7 is probably amazing. But maybe instead of the two other lenses you could consider the 14-140mm (but I don't know if the budget allows that). But more importantly just don't buy all lenses at once. Begin and stick to one lens for a month or more to get to know your lens well and then you'll know what you like and what's the better next investment. :)

    I loved this video. All the photos you said were okay they looked amazing to me. A lovely place indeed. I kept imaging how world of opportunities one would have with a macro lens in a place like that. I think you used the Sony a7III with the tamron 28-75 on it? I love this combo to bad we have lockdown here where I live. The only problem with this video for me was that it was too short... I would watch videos like this all day long. Cheers!

    interresting, seems u started with gx80 ( as i did ) and then switch to full frame but kept micro 4/3.
    I upgraded for a G9 personnaly, can you explain your choice ? Have a nice day

    • @teocrawford
      @teocrawford  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love both of them - I got the Sony mainly for it's amazing video capabilities (especially the Auto Focus). When it comes to Photography I enjoy both very much. I find the two have a very different feeling when shooting. The GX80 is more of the casual kind of camera I like to take on vacation. Shooting with the A7iii feels less casual, which I like when trying to realise a photography idea. All in all the photography specs don't really matter much to me, whereas the video specs do👌🏼

      Absolutely dude! The photos I took in this video are all technically simple and shootable with any camera. What's much more important is the lens and the editing. So even just shooting in RAW with any camera and then giving your photo a good edit will make for good pictures! :)
