I have only seen 1 Blimpies my entire life. Right after I graduated (1994) they built a Shell gas station/Blimpies sandwich shop here in the Houston area. It had intercom boxes by the gas pumps where you could order your sandwich while pumping gas. I don't think they even lasted 2 years there and they closed down never to be seen again. And those Blimpie intercoms stayed on those gas pumps 20+ years until they remodeled the gas station just a few years ago.

Luckily there’s one on Willoughby Street in Brooklyn that I stop at from time to time while in the area. The only Blimpie in the 5 Boroughs left I think.

Was in Houston Texas years ago. I was a DirecTV technician. I was on a job and seen a gas station that still had a Blimpies sign up. I got excited because I always wanted to try 1 of their subs since I was a kid. I went inside and it was actually a little Chicken restaurant lol. I was disappointed, but oddly the Chicken in that place was really good.

Used to get the Blimpie Best all the time, Blimpie used to be better than Subway and probably still is. Yes, it must be done with a little onions, it is the rule... I then have to deal with it later on that day. As for location in the 90's they were all over Arizona, Then around 10 years ago the only one I could find was at a Chevron Gas Station. Was thinking about having one for Lunch and looked them up and it looks like we have only 3 in the entire metro Phoenix area, basically that means we have like zero.

Thx 4 posting this. Blimpies is HANDS DOWN my favorite sandwich of ALL the sub joints. The salt, vinegar, black pepper n mayo combination is simple yet SOOOO effective. I LOVE BlimpieBest, Peppersteak. BUT my #1 is the BlimpieBurger OMG. I believe we hav just 2 still around in NYC.
I think I'll go get me a few 4 the weekend. Thx again. Simply...BLIMPIE!

In the 90’s, our local Walmart had a restaurant area that was three in one. A Blimpies, a Taco Bell and a Cinnabon. ONLY one I ever saw. Anyway, almost all orders were for Taco Bell, so the other two disappeared a short time later.
Tried Blimpies with salami and chipped my tooth on a bone fragment. Only time that ever happened to me with a sub.

@@jime6688 Lol that's crazy, I don't think I ever seen that type of setup anywhere. Our Walmart got rid of our Subway about 3-4 years ago. That place was close to the entrance and always had flies in it. I never ate there because of it. That was a bad location.

@@thegamingchef3304 THIS would’ve been late 80’s, early 90’s. Berryville Arkansas, not too far from Bentonville home office(about an hour and a half). As I recall, the super center concept was only 3-5 years old at that point. They initially had their own restaurants inside called Radio Grills and that didn’t last. But, Berryville was the only one I ever saw with. a 3 in 1. I hear that’s normal in places like New York though.

Yep same here. Had a few stores here & there, then there now nowhere. If you don't saturate a market might as well pick up your marbles & go home. Franchise is not always the way to go. Isn't Shake Shake having that problem. Being Regional only is a death knell...sooner or later.
