A small rule of thumb when playing as or against Joker. When Arsene is active pretty much all of his aerials set up kill confirms lol I've been playing Joker for awhile now and still can't gun dash, but I can do up-air drag downs as second nature.
I love the combos, their so basic, but so creative, and somehow incredibly useful. Rather than using this to play joker, I can use this to learn the matchup. Thanks a lot.
@@arusu6478 true but many of these true combos are not super hard to setup as many of them start with standard spaced aerials so avoiding it is just kind of impossible tbh
I don't have Joker but I loved watching this. Sakurai put so much care into Joker's animations and effects and you show that off so well (down air to Gun???!!)

You can just buffer the pivot by holding ub during the throw so he turns around frame 1. Then hit jump+c stick toward opponent. Assuming ur c stick is set to tilt u should get bair.
I’ve been doing it with attack cancel. It’s extremely useful at the ledge because depending on weight and DI you can literally carry them off the stage with back airs (max. 3 from what I’ve tried). Can lead to some early kills against some characters with bad recoveries like Ganondorf
WHY AM I STRUGGLING ON BEGINNER I USED JOKER FOR SO LONG 💀💀 THE THIRD ONE AND FOURTH ONE 😭 everytime I get the nair I press down to fast fall but it doesn't fast fall sometimes and when It does I try to do f tilt but keeps making me do f smash 😭💀 plz help
It becomes way easier in the later percents because you have time to take a quick step forward before you input the up air. It’s probably better to avoid that at 0% or do up throw into drag down instead of down throw.
Actually the best combo is run halfway across the stage into dash a then spam side special untill it hits and accidentally fall off and then your recovery goes the wrong way

Hold the b button and hold foward in the direction you want to dash
Gun dashing is just doing a shorthop then pressing b and hold forward after. Much easier than dragdowns
Can you do rising up air drag downs without delaying it? Because I can only do drag downs with a little bit of delay before I input the up air lol
As a sheik main who plays joker a lot, I don’t even need to think about drag down up airs I just do it automatically

Every different combo level:
Beginner: 0:05-1:20
Intermediate: 1:22-2:55
Pro: 2:56-3:25
Goldlike: 3:27- End
The only limit now is your memory.

to do a backair after downthrow, would i need to RAR or cancel a tilt attack and input an aerial after turning around from the canceled tilt?

Only pulls them in while you're on the ground, in mid-air it acts like a long ranged blade, and just cuts right through them.
Nothing true combos into up b, only 50/50s

I can never up air drag down from a down throw. I just can never get joker to move his skinny ass to the side very much when using up air
