This is one of the best examples of Richie Albrights Half Time Beat. It's the first thing you hear. We lost a legend this past week. RIP Richie!

Damn he was good! Unbelievable! He had his own unique sound along with Ralph Mooney on the steel guitar. They were the best sound to me in all of country music. I’m glad I grew up in that era.

They don't play country music like this no more. I was lucky and saw Waylon quite a number of times. There will never be another like Waylon Jennings. This Time will be the last time. R.I.P. Hoss

He was a stud guitar player along with that monster voice

    • @taylorshults6276

Yea I don't think people really realized how much of a stud waylon jennings actually was on that telecaster he played I mean he played lead and he sang and he could rock that mf telecaster dude, he played it with ease ... Waylon Jennings was just out there having fun and doing what he wanted to do with his life and that was writing, recording and playing his own style with his own unique sound of country music with a little bit of rock n roll sound mixed into it .... Waylon Jennings was a freakin badass mfer that is a fact!!!!!

This song is just so good. It hits your soul. From 1:44 on could just play as a non stop loop. The back in forth with Moon and Waylon with that base drum of Ritchie in background is just incredible.

Waylon Jennings live performances insanity lol Waylon absolutely no question about it without any doubt was the best!!!! I mean just listen to those vocals such range he had and he could make his ol telecaster talk damn it Waylon rock on 🤘 hell yes that is 1 of the reasons why this dude is and will always be my #1 all time favorite singer/songwriter favorite artist/musician whatever you want to call it he is #1 in my opinion... The true king of country music will always be Waylon "waymore" Jennings period!!!!!!!......... mixing rock n roll sound with country music and then was very successful in the process making an album to go platinum 1st country album to ever make platinum yes its been done since then but Waylon's album was the 1st ..... He loved making n playing music writing songs, recording songs loved performing infront of his fans and he did it for 40+years.. He hit rock bottom more than 1 time even when ppl doubted his style of music like Nashville thinking he would never reach the top in country music because of how he sounded and what not, Nashville even referred to waylon's music as "country music underground " lol but he wasn't going to be held back or kept silent he kept pushing forward and continued to do things his own way, calling him outlaw I mean Nashville basically closed the door on him from the beginning and really didn't ever invite him in never making him feel welcome but Waylon didn't give a shit about Nashville didn't care about getting a reward a trophy or anything like that just wanted to create and play music and he did that for 40 years or so and was very very successful in doing so well done Waylon Jennings well done................ Standing by what he believed in what he was wanting to do musically never given up or laying it down, didn't give in to Nashville when they were trying to control him and his music he wanted artistic control over his music and he received complete artistic control over his entire music career and it all started in (1973) when he walked into "RCA" studio and demanded a 25,000$$$ loan and got it 👍 lol it was then when his career sky rocketed it was then the sound started to change and people were starting to take notice and realize how good and talented this man Waylon Jennings was.... Nashville hated everything about Jennings but they couldn't stop him from being Waylon and he rolled right over Nashville making some great country music for the world to have forever and I'm very thankful he did that.. these wanna be so called 🙄 country music singers today half of them can't even carry a tune in a bucket using auto tuning to make their voice alil bit better lol alot of them fold and give Nashville what they want they don't have control of the music they are putting on the radio or on albums and honestly I don't think they care about it they do exactly what Nashville tells them they sing songs that they didn't write most of them can't write songs because they are not really artists or musicians lol its ridiculous the money $$$$$$ is the goal for them its what they are after not just going out on stage and performing the best they can for the fans they don't give a damn about the music its all about fame being recognized by the world and of course how much money is at hand.... Waylon had it all he had the voice, the vocal range, the ability to write his own songs and he could play the hell out of that leather stiched telecaster picking and playing that telecaster with ease the man was a genius .... nobody else could do it like waylon jennings way back then and nobody today can hold a candle 🕯 to waylon jennings or waylon jennings music especially when he was playing live shows he demanded the crowds attention and he certainly got/had and kept the attention of the audience every time he took that stage that is a fact!!!! Jack!!××!!

Waylon did not read music had no formal training but from the music his parents made and the radio music he listened to he formed a sound that was true for him and he pursued that all of his life. It was wonderful for all of us that he gave those wonderful melodies, lyrical interpretations and emotions for all of us to continue to enjoy. I pray no one tries to override his pure music with modern tech like auto tune that is being applied to a lot of older music. ❤
