For all those tighter twisty turns on that track, seems like the Mini would be right at home there...you guys should do some hot laps in each of your cars and find out which is the fastest.
Last night, I had a really weird dream. I dreamt that you had destroyed the RB26, and installed a Ford Barra straight six, instead......I watch too many car videos!
Rb26 is around same weight and dimensions as the original L24 engine so it would be an easier fit and retain good weight distribution. Barra is heavier and too big, doesn't sound as good, rev as high and just doesn't suit the 240. Turbo barra is an amazing motor but the rb26 is better
I just realized your cars at the moment are the evolution of the cars you had in the beginning, rs liberty to supergramps, s15 to fair lady, micra to Mira and daihatsu to mini
I heard that Nissan named this car "Fairlady" as tribute to the women who modeled for Nissan(Datsun)'s cars at auto shows. Those models were called Fairladies and was actually a position which was passed down in generations.
You two men are mad. I'm a 38 year old professional mechanic working for the passed 15 years at a the same car shop. Your journeys through every aspect of mechanics and electronics remind me why l do what I do since everybody I'm working with have a 27+ year gap on me rendering my input on foreign motors shite because american muscle is the only way. Keep doing you. If you guys ever need a vacation my home is yours...l live in Cotuit Cape Cod Massachusetts USA.
I think it should be called the Phoenix Z. It came to Australia a shell of its former self and from the flames of fabrication it came back to life better than ever.
Hey Marty & Moog, I just want to say Thank-You! Thanks for always creating something we can all look forward to watching. You guys have always been that channel that is truthful, relatable, and real. I've been with you guys since day 1, back when I had a 94 Celica and you guys had the Pulsar. ... BBLLAACCKKKK. P.S. Moog ur music is the tits
The 1995-99 P90 series Starlet with the 65kW 1.3 4E motor is pretty spunky in the 890kg platform. A mid engine mod would be great because traction is the only thing slowing that little buzzbox down. There's a turbo 4E, the 4E-FTE, about 100kW in a sub-900kg car puts it in motorcycle power-weight ratio turf. A mid engine build would be fun but a twin engine build would be a wackadoodley fast track car.
ThePGHProduction pffft who needs that shit. If mcm posted every day at 3am I would set an alarm if I had to 😂 my sleeping schedule would conform because I couldn't miss their videos.
Name idea: You guys were one of the many inspirations for me to get into cars and go through automotive classes to pursue a career in the field. About two years ago with the help of my dad I was able to buy my dream car. A red 1990 Nissan 300ZX. it was NA and an auto but the frame was clean so it became my first project car. After 2 years of saving for parts and devoting blood, sweat, and tears to the car, it was taken away from me. driving home from work I was hit by a dump truck carrying asphalt doing 60 on the highway. The Z is totaled but I walked out needing only a few stitches. I think that car kept me alive that day and I would love if at least the idea of her could live on through the awesome Z you guys have built. Her name was LexZ. Just a thought! Thanks for all the content you make!
Moog I was just watching a TV show called Speed is the new Black. They had such a hard time doing a Honda motor conversion on a Mini Cooper a 1972 Mini Cooper to tell you the truth. Anyway I kept on thinking about yours so mad
Have you guys considered a rear wing, or anything else to help with downforce in the back? Understeer does not look to be a challenge but oversteer does. Like an actual efficient and functional wing, not just a looker. Given the low weight and shape of that loose derriere, a little bit of extra downforce could make a _very_ significant difference in corners. If you don't like the looks of that, and want to retain the sleeper look, there are plenty of asthetically pleasing (and discreet) ways to rig up a reasonably quick and easy fastening solution. Making it a detatchable wing. Thus maintaining the current asthetics of the rear when on the road. Does not need to be road legal either/engineer approved - just throw it in the back when leaving "home", and attach ith when you get to the track ☺
I want to see you guys get an old Holden, say 70's vintage, with a straight six, and and do an old school type resto on it. In particular, the old mods that guys used to do to those sixes. Just so you guys could learn about points and carburettors and stuff. Just to see how far we've come in what is a relatively short time.
I started watching this video then realised I needed to go watch all the 240Z videos, spent a week doing that and now I'm back to finish watching this video.
My brother has a 400hp 1JZ RA23 1976 Celica, engineered, road rego, legal, insured etc. My face was the exact same as Martys when the 240z came on boost around a track. The RA23 with all mods comes in at 1100kg on the weigh bridge, so a very similar weight to the FastLady Z. He would be totally down to have any head to head comp or video show down between the two. Both cars are Japanese, with Japanese motors, RWD, similar weight, both manual. Would make an amazing video, especially if you drove the FastLady Z across to Perth! Please hit us up if you want to chat about this opportunity.
It's indirectly named after the musical. When the first, non Z Fairlady was released in the early 60s, the most popular Broadway musical was "My Fairlady". They thought it was a name that would appeal to westerners, but eventually only ended up using the name in Japan and Australia (incidentally this first Fairlady was sold as a Datsun in Japan rather than a Nissan). The rest of the world got it as the Datsun Sports or Datsun 1500/1600/2000. When its replacement (the original S30 Z) was introduced, the Fairlady name simply carried over for the Japanese version. So, the S30 is named after its predecessor, which is in turn named after the musical.
Zephyr Zephyr would be a good name. Short for Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind. Zephyrus, the personified west wind, eventually evolved into zephyr, a word for a breeze that is westerly or gentle, or both. Also The Zephyr Song is one of my favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers songs..
Loved the build. Love the car, just like so many of the others. As always, looking forward to more cars, and more random DIY stuff. Never stop guys! :)
I know exactly how you felt marty! when i got my programmer and injectors installed on my 99 ram 2500 diesel, and we rebuilt the turbo it was just that moment of adrenaline rush and that slight moment of holy crap!
i ve just commented something similar and then i saw your post, it makes perfect sense and they can make the letters ''un'' match the original ones perfect

That was a really great and cool breakdown of how power works different in different cars! THANK YOU!!
what about "The Fearlady"? Love the show marty and moog have literally seen every episode 4 or 5 times. Your show has got me through 3 leg surgerys now and about 2 years of being in and out of the hospital. Keep up the good work. from ohio, usa P.S. marty love the mira have watched those videos most. i have a 1988 subaru gl 4x4 that everyone has given me crap about for the 8 years i have owned it. But i love it even if it is a "Nugget" to everyone else.
I know a bunch of channels do junk yard builds or find an old car fix it up in the junk yard and drive it off a lot like Roadkill but it was be awesome to see you guys do an episode where you guys do the "fix a car in the junkyard and drive it off" please do it that would be a great episode !!! Also mcm/roadkill Aus 2019 !!!
I like Skylady better. FairLine is too close to Fairlane as in the Ford Fairlane which while admittedly was Badass wasn’t exactly a Double feature of JDM.
Yeee! You mentioned one of my name suggestions (FearLady)! If you don't use it for your 240 I sure am gonna name mine...FearLady Z - custom badges and all! Cheers!
What are your plans for increasing boost on the low end? Turbo chargers aren't designed for linear boost, but I'm curious about whether you intend to balance it out more, and your ideas on how to accomplish that.
Since when has gearing to do with power? You have always the same power at given rpm, even at the wheels (maybe small diferences due to different power loss in different gears for whatever reason). What gearing does, is that it changes the torque and speed of the wheels. In a low gear you have a lot of torque at the wheels, but they turn slowly, in high gears it is the opposite. Shorter gearing in a gearbox with fixed ratios allows to keep the revs at the "sweet spot" for longer, during acceleration. So if you have an engine which makes power through the whole revrange (like super gramps) it isn't actually that critical, because "the sweet spot" is much bigger.
You guys need to do drags because all theses kids have now clue about how the power works. You shouldn’t have to explain it so simply anymore 😢 Love you guys keep doing what you’re doing ❤️
More importantly.. how do you even fit 23 number plates on a car??
Paul Pichugin *number plate livery*
In Japan you're legally required to have a numberplate on every panel
Actually in Japan they also require you to wear a t-shirt with a picture of your numberplate on it
Yes
Glue?
Name suggestion: Snow White...... the fairest (lady) of them all
Chris Bailey that name was stolen from someone else. (You stole it)
HowToGame nope. Didn't even look at the comment before I wrote it. Many people can have the same thought processes.....
Unless you meant I stole it from Disney.....in which case......you got me!
love it!
Disney?? Its A Brothers Grimm tale, traditional german folklore
You should do a update of all your old cars. Like a where are they now?
Mike Johnson YEEEEEEEEES !!
All of that info was published in their book.
iamstd2 not everyone that watches would have the book mate 😂
Mike Johnson where!!!!
I just care about Ms. Daisy...
For all those tighter twisty turns on that track, seems like the Mini would be right at home there...you guys should do some hot laps in each of your cars and find out which is the fastest.
acousticpsychosis a car ranking special..
From fastest to slowest.. both of them drive each vehicle and average the times.
Yes indeed, I like it!
I love that you guys sitback and reflect on each build. Makes the next build that much better
Oh just buy a damned Yaris already, and battle it against the Mira.
paint it pink
Yaris would win
I've been dreaming of a track yaris ever since they mentioned the damn car on a mira episode so FUCK YEAH
m H Depends on what they do to the Mira, it'd be fun either way.
I think they've actually bought one... they are speaking of new nuggets, and they both have a new nugget I'm led to believe.
Last night, I had a really weird dream. I dreamt that you had destroyed the RB26, and installed a Ford Barra straight six, instead......I watch too many car videos!

Manuel Rosa I want to see a Kia picanto against the Mira.
For those that haven't seen one..
They're pretty close in size.
Or a vw up gti
Honda city
Call it ‘Skylady’
I heard that Nissan named this car "Fairlady" as tribute to the women who modeled for Nissan(Datsun)'s cars at auto shows. Those models were called Fairladies and was actually a position which was passed down in generations.
Nah, the broadway play my fair lady.
Gotta love the japanese culture haha
According to Wikipedia, it's both.
The models were named after My Fair Lady, so was the car

Fantastic build Gents! Really enjoyed watching this series!

How about shell as in Michelle.

Moog needs to learn how to do left foot braking to keep the car on boost under braking ;-)
DO A MID ENGINE NUGGET BUILD
Alexander Delapenha MR2 incoming
Jamie Wrench no, I mean a real nugget. Like a Mira with an ej20 or a B18 behind the driver
Lol or a midship yaris
Midship Yaris 😱😍😍
The 1995-99 P90 series Starlet with the 65kW 1.3 4E motor is pretty spunky in the 890kg platform. A mid engine mod would be great because traction is the only thing slowing that little buzzbox down.

Maybe call it the 'Fearlady'. Great build, great show! Well done fellas. I drive an early '74 260Z. Cheers
Oh look! MCM posted a video! FORGET WHATEVER IT WAS I WAS DOING.
ThePGHProduction more like OOH MCM POSTED what was I doing?? Oh well mcm is more important anyway.
Jared Anthony Basically what I meant lol. “Time to go to slee- MCM POSTED A VIDEO. NOT TIRED.”
ThePGHProduction 😂😂😂 pretty much every time they post anything. Who needs sleep when you can get a weekly dose of mcm
Jared Anthony Right? I mean I WAS trying to get back on a normal sleep schedule, but that doesn’t seem so important now.. lol
ThePGHProduction pffft who needs that shit. If mcm posted every day at 3am I would set an alarm if I had to 😂 my sleeping schedule would conform because I couldn't miss their videos.
The Fairlady is a thing of beauty. You have made it a great enthusiast dream car!!! Now enjoy your hard work. It will always be the Fairlady!!!
Mighty Car Mods builds a World Time Attack Challenge Car. :D
VW is now currently shitting itself
Twin engined Yaris, both engines turbo'ed, stupid aero, big Gokart-like slicks.
Out of a Yaris...
Time attack, bro!
Chai San i want to see that one bro

More vids please Dan :D! Hope things are recovering for you
Did not expect to see you here.
I've been watching MCM for several years and love everything you do. My only real question is, who is Cheryl?
Moog I was just watching a TV show called Speed is the new Black. They had such a hard time doing a Honda motor conversion on a Mini Cooper a 1972 Mini Cooper to tell you the truth. Anyway I kept on thinking about yours so mad
you should check out bad obsession motorsports project binky, 3sgte in a mini
Lol binky the 6 year build...
Binky the 6 year exercise in the most extreme and ridiculous level of engineering.
Shaun W With entire episodes dedicated to the windshield wipers
Alias It's awesome though
Beautiful build as usual from MCM. Cheers from Massachusetts.
It’s totally time for a budget build off battle!!
it's already happened, 3000 dollar turbo car
James Taylor
"Another one" - Dj Khaled
It’s totally time for another budget build off battle!!
You guys are by far my favourite guys to watch thanks for all the great videos I can’t wait to see what you guys have next
Digging all the uploads, call it purity
DAKOTA ive been screaming this since like video 2.

I'd like to see another challenge like the 3000 turbo challenge but with rwd or Australian car or something
Luke Nudson they’d just end up with ba turbos
I want to see you guys get an old Holden, say 70's vintage, with a straight six, and and do an old school type resto on it.

Cheryls pearly S30
babrackets scopz yessssss
RETURN OF THE NUGGETS! i love the nugget vids, for the simple fact that this is what alot if not most people get and work on, especially kids
Call it "Disrespected No-z"
I started watching this video then realised I needed to go watch all the 240Z videos, spent a week doing that and now I'm back to finish watching this video.
LS a Smart car next.
InsideOfMyOwnMind , or use a modern engine.
Where would you put the LS? The motor and gearbox together is bigger than the car!!
Just mount the car on top of the engine and use a lift kit so the wheels hit the ground
Or a Kia picanto vs Mira
.
Nor Dic the ls is a modern engine? They are used to this day in corvettes
My brother has a 400hp 1JZ RA23 1976 Celica, engineered, road rego, legal, insured etc. My face was the exact same as Martys when the 240z came on boost around a track. At the end, they were talking about the "blue" or "orange" car. We know the blue one is 2sexy, but what is the orange one?
nope. Blue turd :)
Orange may be the right side of the Budget Street Cred golf :-)
Maybe Marty answer to Fairlady ? ^^
Thomas Studer probably an old celica
Hope it will be a subaru leone coupe or a Vortex
Lower the diff ratio in the 'fairly old lady' and boost will come on sooner and get you down the track faster between short corners.
Bring a Starlet!!!!!
Ricardo galanza turbo
nope. must be a KP6*
nicodache nah kp70 😍

Call it Cheryl!
All the respects, great stuff. It's nice to see and hear about some of the reasoning for the things you guys choose to do.
SUPER GRAMA...a mate for super gramps 😁
vernon geurin a subaru impreza 22b ;p
Great explanation of the track battle. Also Thank you for keeping everything simple and clear during the build.
UnfairLady gets my car name vote.
Call it Demi Levato, cause both car and women are artificially boosted
Love The Skid Factory. You guys are doing a great job.
Time for another electric car build, this time from scratch, use the YARIS
Bambamcameyzmay or the Kia picanto.
Yes. Another electric car!
No! Charade
I've got one with a dead engine if you need.
Zephyr
Zephyr would be a good name.
Last suggestion THE FEARLADY Z
I love mcm been watching for a long time but I absolutely love the skid factory. I could literally watch hour long episodes of it
Call it Cheryl pleaasssssss
Lachlan Copley not cheryl
Cheryl isn't pure!
Aiden Wilkinson neither is that datsun..
What's the difference between Cheryl and the fairlady?
Nothing.. they've both been tampered with.
Old with a loose rearend!
Since you changed so much of the car and it still has the classic look,
name it *Fair Enough*
call her Unicorn or better yet pegasus
even after the video is done. i can still hear marty saying "OHHHHHH SHHHHHHIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTT"!
thanks marty for 12:26, right next to my parents when i played that on full volume :(
Splixsky Gaming lol. Hard core Christian families are funny. "Oh no,they said shit"
Loved the build. Love the car, just like so many of the others. As always, looking forward to more cars, and more random DIY stuff. Never stop guys! :)
Although this build series was awesome, I look forward to seeing the more bonkers side of MCM like the stuff you guys did way back when #trdLazer 😂 😂
I know exactly how you felt marty! when i got my programmer and injectors installed on my 99 ram 2500 diesel, and we rebuilt the turbo it was just that moment of adrenaline rush and that slight moment of holy crap!
My name for the car:
"Unfairlady"
i ve just commented something similar and then i saw your post, it makes perfect sense and they can make the letters ''un'' match the original ones perfect
That was a really great and cool breakdown of how power works different in different cars! THANK YOU!!
"Judge Zedd"
Seeing as a judge can also be a fairlady
what about "The Fearlady"? Love the show marty and moog have literally seen every episode 4 or 5 times. Your show has got me through 3 leg surgerys now and about 2 years of being in and out of the hospital. Keep up the good work. from ohio, usa P.S. marty love the mira have watched those videos most. i have a 1988 subaru gl 4x4 that everyone has given me crap about for the 8 years i have owned it. But i love it even if it is a "Nugget" to everyone else.
Fearlady
+1
side note the original Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady was Julie Andrews. "Marry Poppins"..
All I hear is that the Fairlady needs anti-lag. DO IT!
Anti-lag trashes your turbo.
And your manifold.
You need a stig to do timed laps to see which is faster to rule out the driver error.
Name for the fair lady: RBZ
RB- the motor
Z its a Z series
3:04
Timothy Javier oh hahaha didn't hear that lol
hmmm BRZ?
I think Marty came up with the best name THE ANTI-NUGGET just sums up the vehicle perfectly
Call it Fairlad...just take the y of the badge lol
I know a bunch of channels do junk yard builds or find an old car fix it up in the junk yard and drive it off a lot like Roadkill but it was be awesome to see you guys do an episode where you guys do the "fix a car in the junkyard and drive it off" please do it that would be a great episode !!! Also mcm/roadkill Aus 2019 !!!
Fairlady+Skyline=FAIRLINE
nice! Or the other way 'round, Skylady?
I like Skylady better. FairLine is too close to Fairlane as in the Ford Fairlane which while admittedly was Badass wasn’t exactly a Double feature of JDM.
Do an 86 next! Please!! During one of your MCM meets you said we need to do an 86... do it! Love the videos, keep it up!
Name it the Bearded Lady
Yeee! You mentioned one of my name suggestions (FearLady)! If you don't use it for your 240 I sure am gonna name mine...FearLady Z - custom badges and all! Cheers!
Lady-Z 💜
Spotting the majestic Unicorn in her natural habitat sounds awesome!!
Nobody liked the name "Michael Datsun" cause the car is a Shelia :)
That’s cool as hell about the licence plate. I do hope you can take the Z down to the drag strip soon and do some runs!
The Mighty Z would be awesome!
Mighty car mods + Fairlady Z = Mighty Z
Corner weighting and suspension setup would make a really good video
That drone footage is amazing!
Fair lady comes from the Nissan CEO travelling to NY and watching the stage show of 'My Fair Lady'
Absolutely love this build, im taking my ta22 to get rego tomorrow, Can't wait to hit the track with you boys in Melbourne 🤘
Call it the 23Z, it seems fitting given how much thought and effort went into making the number plate
Congrats on the build. It came out better than anyone could have wanted it, but I would take Super Gramps over the Fairlady for a daily driver.
What are your plans for increasing boost on the low end? Turbo chargers aren't designed for linear boost, but I'm curious about whether you intend to balance it out more, and your ideas on how to accomplish that.

I loved my 1972 240Z possibly one of the top three cars I ever had, all hills seemed flat
You guys need to do drags because all theses kids have now clue about how the power works. You shouldn’t have to explain it so simply anymore 😢
Love you guys keep doing what you’re doing ❤️
Marty's face when he hears #AllRoundDongHammerOfGladiatorialGoodness for the first time...
Perfect.
When are you gonna make the type-R Mini 4 wheel drive with a CR-V gearbox?
Considering Miss Daisy and the drag Cressida have both been on show at WTAC, will the Fairlady be on show this year?
Quick question! How did you guys have a playlist link with the '240Z S3 E7' in the last video above the video title? Anyways - keep up the great work!
