I also love the fact that he makes these videos because it educates and promotes sensitivity and awareness towards South African animals to social media. I see commenters young and old showing interest and passion and that's so wonderful!

I was crying. People can be so cruel. It’s amazing how these organizations make a huge difference to the world and is so sweet and shows how cruel the world can be. Don’t be one of those people and make a difference and try to help the world from people who hurt animals for money. Don’t become one of those people and make a difference.

I have long been a lover of animals and supporter of causes such as this. I'm too old and have too little money to volunteer, but seeing this makes me so happy. I pray constantly that rhinos, elephants, and lions--and so many others--are not made extinct. I am jealous of you all--I would LOVE to kiss a baby rhino!--and grateful for your service to these amazing creatures. xo

In the early 70's I was in North Africa (Mali) to help support the people during a devastating drought gripping the region. Jon, you reporting and involvement in the same continent is one of the most awesome and under reported crisis and is greatly appreciated. I hope the world will grieve when the top predators die off. Most people don't care because it doesn't affect them directly. Once you kill off the top of the food chain, the rest will collapse.

I completely respect that you are raising awareness about Rhino poaching, how we can help end it and help in the mean time to help the Rhinos. The lady that started this has an amazing work ethic wow she is also very lucky as she is motivated by love for this species and dedicated to ending poaching what a calling.
I just love what you and your peers do. We human beings need to realise that this world was never meant to be just for us. Animals are our fellow creatures on this planet.

I live in south Africa. The problem with rhino is a serious one.. in fact, two days ago two male rhino were shot in the Reitvlei reserve just 2 km from my house. Not to be cynical but the monthly average wage in South Africa is around R17000 , with rural people earning most likely a quarter of this.. To put it into perspective.. a rhino horn costs around 1.2 MILLION RAND PER KILO.. so the average person would have to work 24 years to see similar returns..So you need to understand the temptation that poor people face, they honestly don't care about any rhino, or your feelings for that matter. All they want to is literally feed and support their families, by a house, car, send their children to university ect... Unfortunately the majority of South Africans, particularly poor black South Africans don't value conservation as they don't see how its a financially beneficial to their lives at this point in time. A huge cultural/mental shift needs to take place if rhinos are to be saved and if things carry on as they are then we wont see rhinos for much longer, that's just reality.
About the dehorning, I agree that rhinos should be dehorned for their protection but I dont agree with the thought of changing the law to legalize the distribution of rhino horn and the reasons are simple. If rhino horn is legalized, it will drastically increase the demand of rhino horn. Therefore making it almost impossible to keep up with demand with Asian markets. This is further complicated by the fact that rhinos have a long gestation period+ slow horn regrowth, thus making farming rhino really difficult. Also, logically.. do you think a ivory dealer is going to buy rhino horn at 'market price' or is he just going to get the closest poor person to shoot it for 10th of the price..?? You will have a situation with tons of rhino horn on the shelf.. but wild rhinos are being killed indefinetly. Then lastly I would be concerned as to where the money generated from the sale of the horns would end up. The majority of the horn is either held by SanParks or private game reserve owners. I have a feeling rhino conservation will receive the last cut of the profits whilst private owners and government officials will benefit financially. My post might sound grim...and thats because it is...I dont want to sugar coat the situation.. this is a crisis and we need international help.

Really love what you are doing here with these rhinos =D I work in conservation too in french polynesia, and it is so hard to get local people to understand that their biodiversity is important. Although, we often go talk to children at schools to tell them about conservation. Kids are really the best audience, as they love to learn and they always repeat everything we tell them to their parents. Hope Lofu gets better, continue with the good work

Really cool video man. I've been watching a lot of the wild Earth safaris and I really miss seeing the rhinos. But, I understand why they don't show them. They've always been one of my favorite African species. Thank you for volunteering to help the baby rhinos recover from their horrific experience of watching their mothers murdered. It is hard to imagine how a person could so viciously kill any animal in my opinion but especially a mother Rhino/elephant in front of their baby. Lofa looks so sad, clearly mourning his mom heart breaking. These little babies need and deserve so much of our love.

My favorite Animal is the Cheetah for sure because they are so unique in many ways like they can't retract there claws like the other big cats they are the fastest land animals on earth and there spots are beautiful I have always wanted to be up close to one but never got the chance and I have always wanted to see a king cheetah thank u Jon so much for all the videos u have made

I have an idea to maybe ruin the market for rhino horn. Lace the rhino horns that have already been removed by park staff with poison and put them out on the black market. After a few dozen Chinese die because after ingested the tainted medication then perhaps the market will die off out of fear.
+Donald Baker That's messed up, and would entail letting some more animals be killed, let alone the whole conspiracy to commit murder..
There is already something like that done with Elephant tusks where a special paint is placed along the tusks that seep inside, ruining the ivory.
A better idea is to put fake rhino horn laced with something that makes cocks stay limp out there for about ten years or so. After the Asian men see their cocks go limp immediately after ingesting the fake rhino horn, maybe they'll start appreciating Viagra.
