I think there's a very strong argument that people who aren't familiar with franchise histories should have their opinions validated as mucb as a seasoned vet to see if the game is a good start point for the average customer and not ONLY longtime fans. For me it was MGSV:PP. I had never played a Metal Gear game ever up til that point... and i was obssesed with this game for a year! Brilliant gameplay, immersive systems and amazing cinematics. But i understand why longtime fans didnt like the story or advanced sci fi setting despite being a prequel. Another was DMCV. Never played a DMC game, saw this one was coming out, thought "why not" and omg one of my favourite games of all time. It even has a "previously on" cutscene to bring you up to speed. So yeah I think its very important to hear if a game is a good jump in point to get people to try out previous games. Thanks again TB for your wisdom!
To the dmc topic: it was the first one Ive ever got to play and I gotta say that I somewhat liked the coloured enemies, cuz I kinda forgot/ didnt want to use all the weapons because it was a bit overwhelming for me, this way I was "forced" to practise them a bit and I ended up using them a lot more than I wouldve otherwise
2021's no different. Plenty of sites like Destructoid and TH-camrs have made a living off negativity. Even Jim Sterling admitted that his non-negative videos didn't bring in much revenue although he's more focused on game company politics than game mechanics.
I don't like tlou2 or alan wake or the DMC series etc. There is some games that i simply dislike or even straight up despise *ahem* tlou2 *ahem*. But i don't go out of my way trying to say that DMC5 is objectively a bad game... Because it's not...why?. Well i can tell that it's a game made with love and passion and is made very well. If it ain't for you, don't go out of you're way trying to say or convince that this particular game is objectivly trash, even though that it looks extremely well made and is made extremely well. And then they say"it's my opinion" tlou2 story isn't bad, it clearly was written with a lot of passion, even though that it can be a bit generic for some people. Same thing goes for things like gameplay. It's simply just ain't your cup of tea, even though if tlou2 have alot of plot holes or whatever, it's still well made. Objectevly trash games would be, games like the golem game.
You're absolutely wrong. DMC 4's combat is better in every single way. DMC doesn't even have half the depth that DMC 4's has as it lacks switchable style sets, streamlines the combat way too much and makes combos an absolute breeze to pull off that even the most unskilled and dumbest of players can master easily, whilst veterans are stuck with a combat system that appears deep on the surface but is actually quite shallow. It's not bad at all though, it's serviceable, but claiming it's anywhere near DMC 4's combat is laughable. Platforming is the only thing DMC did better I'll give it that. By the way, DMC on consoles couldn't even hit 60FPS, and was instead 30FPS, whilst DMC4 on consoles ran at 60FPS and even Looked better.
" gameplay was better than DMC 4's" Dude, just because gameplay in DMC: DMC is easier to understand and dumb down it doesn't make it better at fucking all xD
Every opinion is subjective, therefore I can't be compared to how you feel about something you didn't enjoy. I like better the rhythm and flow of the reboot, you don't. And that's okay.
@@Iamthequick i would argue that DMC4 has objectively deeper combat. Some opinions are less subjective than others. Now you saying the combat is better in the dmc reboot i can see your point. It has a much wider appeal so more casual players can enjoy it.

Still relevant and appropriate today. Miss TB greatly.

goddamit i miss him.
I loved the thief game. I need to go back to it and finish it. It was a lot of fun, I got maybe 20-30 hours in it.
I loved it up till chapter 5. It turns into a bloody horror game for that one level and I did not expect that. But I really loved it overall.
Im replaying it now. It actually has a lot of depth

;_;7 I miss you sir.
TB and his viewpoints will live on forever in gaming

The DMS reboot's story was bad... but the gameplay was better than DMC 4's.
