Wow, thank you for the great camera that you are filming your video's with, Mr Butler, very clever and clear,I haven't seen any video's that can rise above what you are doing, 👍⚡🏁🇺🇲,I wish I lived closer to you so I could visit you and shake your hand for a very well deserved compliment, and you could install a set Andrew's N4 cams on my 2003 Anniversary Sporster custom...👍👍👍⚡⚡⚡🏁🏁🏁🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you for those kind words. It’s nice that folks notice the camera angles. It’s hard to set up each angle but I hope it helps folks see better. Thanks again. And as my channel grows I will probably do some traveling to different events and swap meets, so you never know when we might bump into one another!
At 2:36 you mention the stock cam spacer that you don't want to forget to put back in. You know, the one you're talking about at 1:10:00? Can't figure out why so a large gap? Haha, that is so my life!! Thanks for the vid, bud! Loved watching!
You say that you are not a professional. Well, I say not true. You will not get half of the builders to do or check what you do, for instance, bleeding up lifters. I don't think many would do the same. Old school We have a big Harley dealer ship here on the Central Coast they have had so many complaints that the word is they are struggling. I am a mechanic by trade, not a motorbike mechanic but a car, but after watching your builds, you have given me the conferdence to put a big bore kit in my own bike. I love the videos 👍 Shaun Australia.
Thank you for your words of flattery. I try to treat each bike like it’s my own. Maybe one day you’ll be inspired to open up an honest shop there! Where there’s a need, there’s always an opportunity. Thanks for watching and let me know when your merchandise arrives!
Great video, I think the difference in cam play came after the case was clearanced. Looking at the cam and crank gears, it looks like the cam went in farther after clearancing and that probably caused the end play to be too great.
A gun light, or a "bore" light would help in showing this hard to light up areas. They are only about 20 dollars and have a flexible head with s small led light.
Lots of good info.... I'm almost in the middle of what your showing. HUGE help. What do you think about metal oil breather gear versus the plastic oem ?
Durable is good. But I figured if something goes STOOPID in the cam chest.... might be better to have plastic blowing around versus metal chewing stuff up
There is the school of thought that says the plastic gear can/will become impregnated with very fine particles and become a fine grinding wheel in time. Im goin with a metal one and keep a good eye on my oil and filters. Just my 2 cents.
For sealed Bearings you a pick and pull the seal off you will Be shocked at the anount of Grease they put of sealed Breaings . Not real genious for Grease . Dont trust sealed Bearings .

Moving that rod before using the puller, now that was an impressive piece of info. Thanks! Really have enjoyed your vids!
@@whizkeyman2022 very good of you to make that observation.
I wish more videos were this good. You defentaly have a new subscriber here. I'll be waiting for part 3
Thank you for your support! I’m editing part 3 now. Will be uploaded tomorrow. It’s a long one. Thanks again!

I did put it back in but it was still a .06 gap. Once I put the .050 shim in it was perfect. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great video, as always. Best information I found on evo cam replacement. Keep on delighting us. Best regards from France. 👍
Thank you for that wonderful compliment! Part 3 will be coming this week.
Thanks brother!! Great work!

Another gem of a very informative video 👍
Thank you for those kind words!
This was incredibly informative, well shot and I appreciate the effort that you put into what you do!

One of the reasons I measure the old cam verse's the new one, a few different ways of doing it.
That’s a good habit to have if
the old cam was set properly.

I agree. I put a .050 shim in and it brought it at the perfect .010 needed. Part #3 video will include this. Thanks for commenting and watching.
@@butlercustoms awesome catch.

Great idea! Since this video my family got me two small snap-on lights that are much better than my big one.
very helpful info i just did my top end and found that f you use the heat gun on the piston the pin will go in and out easier
Thanks for watching and commenting!
you took the time to walk me through the lifter bleeding down bit and dang bro you saved me and my bike@@butlercustoms

Great question. I’ve never had an issue with the plastic ones. Some people don’t like them and would rather have the durability of a metal one.
