He was saying his bankai wasn't suited to spar.
Even if we go with the "make someone stronger" route, giving Chad bigger muscles will make him stronger, but it won't be the same as honing his skills which he was trying to do
Also when Askin realized his arm was getting messed up he jumped back, revealing the Bankai’s limited range... once he got clear the effect of the Bankai was reversed, making me think that if Chad got restructured he’d only stay restructured while near Urahara’s Bankai.
Another idea I had is that perhaps Urahara can control how his body is restructured, but he can’t control the restructuring of other people within his range (like how Shunsui’s Bankai traps everyone nearby regardless of Shunsui’s wishes). Everyone in front of him just gets restructured into chaotic, nonfunctional messes 😅 hence why he didn’t spend any time tending to Yoruichi once he used Bankai.
Yeah, i was also wondering how Tekken was going on and on despite Kisuke not actually having said it like he claimed.
He could have also been lying in order for Renji to get a little training or he just didn't feel like doing it himself

on a second thought, we don't know how much Benihime is grown together witth Urahara. We've seen actually a lot of Bankai's who stood neutral or even loyal to their partners, for example Zangetsu, Mayuri's bankai or even Kenpachi's..iirc even Gramps bankai didn't went havoc (god bless it didn't)

@@aizensosuke1491 not every Zanpaktou. Zangetsu stood with Ichigo, Nozarashi stood with Kenpachi, Byakuya had control over Senbonsakura, Yorouichi had control over her zanpaktou, there where some many zanpaktou's more muramasa wasn't able to get hold on

Didn't think the ending was terrible, Kubo just didn't get the time to set it all up.
Edit: I think Urahara meant that his bankai wasn't good for training people.
It wasn’t bad, per se. More like ‘incomplete’. Some stuff (like Kisuke’s end, and my boy Grimmjow only showing up for like 4 pages and not even getting to fight... >:| ) was obviously rushed or skipped altogether, but there were a few subplots/character arcs that were wrapped up really well. Shunsui was always one of my favorites, and I love how we got to see him finally step up as a leader and put the team on his back even after he lost his best bros Old Man Yamamamamamamamoto and Ukitake. But the best imo was Byakuya’s arc. Specifically his relationship with Rukia. Everything from the entire series sort of came full circle. Great narrative symmetry. I like symmetry. Very nice. 👍
And, of course, though not ‘the end’, exactly, finally, after ~600 chapters of waiting, we finally got to see Old Man Yamamamamamoto get serious and flex on basically everyone like a goddamn boss. Just like “Aight, check it out, you lil’ whippersnapper... Basically, pretend like what I’m holding here is *the sun* with a handle attached to it. Unless you wanna get hit with *the sun* (which you don’t), you best BTFO. Oh, and basically, pretend like I’m also wearing armor made out of *the sun* too. Now, come at me, bro. Oh, wait, first let me summon a goddamn army of flaming skeletons from the millions of people I’ve killed over the last 1,000 years or so. Actually, a bunch of them used to be your friends. Lol. Ok, ok- *now* come at me, bro. I’ll wait right here. Take your time.”

I think the reason why Kisuke didn't wanna use his bankai to help Chad is because anything that is reconstructed will only stay that way until Kisuke deactivates his bankai so for a more permanent solution was to have Chad train against Renji, and lets face it Renji needed to train with his bankai too
He’s the most interesting character that made a sword named after a princess look cool

It's a punch in the gut everytime I remember the Saturday morning His wife Linda post on Fb that he had passed. I hadn't spoken to him for so long after we stopped working together. Gotta hope hope to see him again in some form or other. He is missed but not forgotten.

It isn't like he had no room to grow either. His fullbring was never completed, I can imagine a full body transformation for him. Heck if Kubo wanted (Or if the editors and suits had let him) Chad could have easily been able to use abuelo's coin as a fullbring. You can have more than one (riruka and ginjo can attest to that), and that coin is EXTREMELY important and significant to Chad.

Urahara liked Chad, but he didn't like him THAT much lmao. He was too lazy to train him, so he got Renji to do it.
No. His original statement holds up. He told Chad that his Bankai wasn't one for training and he was not lying. Chad would have been dead in an instant. The only worse Bankai to train against would be Shunsui . Who's Bankai was a suicide pact. Not sure how Chad could train against being taken apart physically.
More likely explanation is Kubo didn’t know what Urahata’s bankai was at that point in the story. He didn’t plan that far ahead.
@@PaulXPZ while that could totally be true, at the time he made it sound like his bankai was potentially too dangerous and I stand by the point that he was right.
The same could be said for Shunsui who didn't want to use his bankai against Stark.
Also why is it that we're assuming that a bankai that has dissection as its theme is somehow consequence free?
Urahara really didn’t even need to use bankai to train chad. He’s more than capable of going toe to toe against opponents who use bankai with just his shikai.
The thing is, it’s urahara was capable of successfully training ichigo without using bankai and I’m pretty sure chad would still get some trading done if urahara only used his shikai

But kisuke...this bankia definitely deserves this video and the one he made before. The lack of bleach and it being my favorite means I could watch tekking yall about it for about a years worth of what I've watched him make about one piece

I took that line about his Bankai to Renji in training Chad as in it is not the best for direct combat, which is what Chad needed to bring out more power in his Fullbring. He didn't need to increase his physical strength but to increase his spiritual pressure with a direct combat bankai being more suited for that. Loved the video hope you make that video of things rushed in the TYBW arc and maybe even how you would change those particular moments

@@demonking-zm3rs the CFYOW novels will be officially released by Viz in summer 2020. While I've read synopses and bullet points for them I'm saving the actual reading til they come out. Just hope they stay faithful and don't tone it down like in the manga.

I love and respect tekking so much but i guess this is my favorite character am a little disappointed but i guess maybe i just wanted everything about the character not just the zanpacto

The Recess arc has a nice ring to it.
All these kids accidentally get sold OP soul candy that awaken some type of primal spiritual reiatsu that only kids can have because of their natural wonder and merriment and partially developed brain. Like the candy instantly develops the rest of their brain and has crazy and random side effects depending on what kind of candy it was and the kids individual personality. You could have the typical bully bruiser, the smart nerdy kid, the gothic lolicon, the kid who’s abused by his parents secretly, the popular kid, the athlete etc etc. Ultimately it’s something to do with purity or puberty or some ish like that.

The meta answer to Urahara's answer is that Kubo just didn't want to show it yet. A proper in story example is that Urahara is a very shrew man and its power is reserved as a last resort for someone he HAS to kill

I think the reason his bankai isn't good for training people is because while yes it's can heal and support people it does so in the most unpleasant way possible. The way it stitched things together I imagine that it hurt like hell and they look kind of haphazard, like the repairs and modifications only last for so long. Now I imagine that if anyone in Bleach can regrow someones eyes it's Urahara (much like how Miyuri rebuild Soi Fon's arm) so he can get away with using abilities like that in the long run, but trying that sort of thing on someone else seems more iffy. So he could probably train with Chad and keep him going for a long time, but by the end Chad would be a mass of stitched together tissue and pain, in need of a few months of healing to get back to normal
the way Isshin described Zanpakuto in his fight with Grand Fisher, anyone can alter their sealed form at will. Grand Fisher said the sealed form's size is proportional to their spirit energy, but Isshin said Captains can alter it at will or otherwise their swords would be humongous

The angled hilt reminds me of Dooku's lightsaber and how it was described to deceive the enemy in where the blade was actually going to strike. Dooku was also revered as a master duelist and in a class if his own for the knowledge he possessed, kinda like Urahara in a sense. 😏

@@Narinjas You must be a newer Sub to Tekking. If you watched back when he was reviewing Bleach you'd understand the true nature of Barry before his reformation.
My best guess is that his Bankai's effects wear off once cancelled, and what he meant by "strength" was combat training to help somebody develop both strength and experience.
Chad's abilities were not fully realized. Benihime certainly could have made that stage of Chad's arm stronger, however I suspect that reconstructing his arm at that time would have prevented Chad from evolving his right arm further, and possibly preventing his left arm from developing.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the theory that Benihime's Shikai reconstructs herself while the Bankai reconstructs others. it goes well with the rule that Shikai and Bankai have to have a relation and be similar somehow.

Urahara was head of the Science Division, so running a traditional sweet shop is a pretty great idea. He surely knows enough about chemistry to make incredible sweets, and the traditional style excuses his old-fashioned soul society fashion and mannerisms. Throw in his partner being the head of the Stealth Corps and its gonna be a pretty solid cover.

He's not wrong his bankai isn't really for training people, renji's bankai was really good for training people especially Chad... It just sucks renji did a shity job
No but he theoretically could have made Chad a super soldier esque character instead of “guess it’s time to punch someone again”
@Game Insane, and if he did what skills would he have learned about his powers and how they work? Training has more to do with the challenge, mental progression, obtaining skill than it does with the natural by product of physical strength improvement.

Been waiting for the Bankai vid for my favorite Bleach character for quite some time.
If there's one good thing about how Bleach ended, it's the fact that it left a lot for fanfic writers to work with.

It always makes me happy to see tekking make a bleach episode, i started watching anitube with th original bleach videos and keeping up with the chapter reviews was a weekly routine really brings back the memories of simpler times when tekking had no bedroom but some nebulous void with chapter pertinant objects instead
At least Chad got a few victories under his belt. Poor, beautiful Tatsuki was clearly being set up to be somebody in the first arc and then just kind of... disappears.

I feel like his reconstruction would have to have limits otherwise he would be known as one of the best healers. Maybe he has to take material from somewhere else in his body so there is a finite amount he can regenerate?
Mayuri was a scientist and experimented a lot of stuff on his zanpakuto but I believe urahara’s zanpakuto was based on modification or liberty to experiment like, in shikai he had access to that blood energy and could do multiple stuff with it, liberty to design and modify kidou, and with his bankai he could modify structures
you know his bankai and Shikai ability's seem very different. so how about this, while in his Shikai he is able to reconstruct spirit energy and form it as he likes? for example in his fight with Yami and the Balla's he turned it into a cancellation ability rather than an offensive attack. this would not only make his sword stronger but give him quite a lot more techniques for him to use.
