CSX L306 - Goodells & Marysville, MI 10/20/22

CSX's local train from Flint, Michigan is making quick work of its trackage rights over the former Grand Trunk Western mainline to Port Huron. The train will enter CN's Tunnel Yard at Port Huron, move onto their own tracks via the former Port Huron & Detroit, then terminate at St. Clair Yard. They'll drop off their cars, pick up some new ones and head back to Flint. It was a rainy and cold day, but the vibrant fall colors put on a good show.

I've heard many railfans call it the Foreign Flyer. I don't know when it got that name but it likely got it shortly after CSX abandoned the C&O Port Huron Sub. from Port Huron to Avoca in 1988 and got trackage rights on CN's Flint Sub.

I think this train is CSX L306. It used to be D711 and the PH&D Local used to be Y513 & Y514 but CSX changed all of symbols. From what I've heard from other local railfans the D711 & Y513 merged and both trains now go by L306.
