WOW that Snow Globes performance was masterful. Freaking untouchable together. WHen Greep tunes in with the slide guitar just so ELEGANT just MM. MAN. Probably one of their best performances. Then that finish. Jeus christ.
@@miguel-vo1cb oh, I thought it was a cover of someone else's song this whole time and wondering why I couldn't find it anywhere lmao. Now I know that there's a reasonable chance of it being on the next record.
Just beautiful. I have only discovered these two bands recently. They are as brilliant as each other individually and reach even greater heights when they play together.
Both bands have completely destroyed the whole 'the new music just isn't as good as the old music' trope. Reminiscent of lots of forebears but derivative of none.
Yup. This is only part one of part one, so about half of the freestyle jam including Snowglobes. More will no doubt surface in time. Gotta get Born to Run and Eff You up at some point.
@@LouSmith its so fascinating to see these performances, do you own the windmill or do you just have a long history with these bands, you dont have to answer but ive always wondered since ive started wondering, thank you so much for recording anyways!!
@TakaOh haha. No I don't own the Windmill. I first set foot in it in 2011 when I followed the Fat White Family there after seeing them play at my regular music night Easycome acoustic. I just got a name for doing immersing, one shot videos, and also photos, and after a few years, I got a free pass, any gig, any time, so the Windmill became like my second home. Other venues were also happy for me to film there, so this had been extended to the George tavern, Venue MOT, and Amp studios as well as one or two that have since closed. For other venues, the bands themselves are happy to put me on their guest list. So yes, I have a great relationship with the venues, and many of the bands, but also the regular music fans and ecosystems surrounding the scene. I run a very rock and roll screen printing business, providing many of the bands'merch requirements and also shooting their early promo videos, so am supported financially like that. It's a great niche I've made for myself, and is really my entire life. Long may it remain so. As long as I am able to produce quality and relevant material, I'll keep at it. I'm 61 now, so hopefully a few more years. Undoubtedly, my efforts bring revenue and early exposure to the bands and the venues, so it's win win. I would say that just recently, with the cult of celebrity that social media brings, that the space is getting more and more full of people filming and documenting the shows, which I don't think is totally a good thing, but inevitable at the same time. I'm still, I think, considered the best and most influential of these, and there is a great feeling of love and respect for me when I go out, including a degree of protection from unruly audience members who think it's their right to upend me for getting in their precious way. I live it and love it.
@@LouSmith you are such a lucky man rhat you have made the thing you love into your life and job, im guessing you love the newer bands that have come out of that area, im much younger than you but i aspire heavily to have something like this. ive mostly watched your videos of bcnr and black midi because those are two of my favorite bands right now, but i know theres an extensive list of bands that youve filmed, and ill definitely binge your videos when i can. keep doing what youre doing, i respect all of it immensely.
@TakaOh thank you. Yes, it's worked out pretty well, and yes, I love many of the young bands coming through too, so I'm happy not to chase after the bands that have flown the coop. If they play a secret gig in a home venue I'll be there. There's some great bands on here, current stuff you may like, Pyongyang, Y, Charlemagne, Magnolia, honestly the list is endless. These ones from your preference for BM BCNR. Generally if I'm gonna stand in front of a stage for half an hour or more, I've got to think they're worth the effort, so I only film acts I really like.

Georgias' heavenly snow globes harmonies. Sigh.
we need a full black midi new road project, like at least an ep

I think quite a few people would agree on all points. Really beautiful.
i think they should release this version of "snowglobes" honestly, i cant see how a studio recording could top how great this performance is
It's pretty great. Tbh I'm like that with most of the early recordings of songs on the album.
They probably will.
I'd kill to have anything Black Midi, New Road related, but this song in particular needs to be sent out to a larger audience.
I’m sorry
And somehow the album version blows this one away. Some of my favorite lyrics ever, the album version!
