it’s so weird hearing the parts the song would’ve had if matt was on the recording, makes me imagine how different cavalcade and this whole era would’ve been if he was still in the band
Not heard of this band until yesterday when BBC 6 music played the studio version of this track. And as soon as he started singing i could hear Captain Beefheart. In fact, the whole track, to me anyhow, sounds very much like Beefheart. Really good stuff. Love it.
I think so lol. They *love* putting in little melodic references like that in their songs. Pretty sure I heard bits of Beatles' in their boiler room concert

I actually would prefer a studio version with his played instead the saxophones and violins in the song.
I thought he was still a part of the writing process, just not actually playing on records/at shows
that low tuned ass guitar he’s playing adds so much to the song
@@DoggBann Yeah, I'm pretty sure he technically is still in the band
I miss Matt :(
THAT DRUMMER! THAT RHYTHM SECTIIIIIOOOOOOON!
this is literally me when I hear three encores of oh sunny boy :)
Backed only by black midi
Can't wait for this one to come out as a studio recorded song
Wait no further
John L
It's here
same
What’d you think?
the composition of this shot is so cool. Especially when matt, geordie, and cam are synced.
these guys sure love naming songs
ohhhh... so that's what the song was!! I remember once this song ended, I just went 'what the fuck was that??" in a confused, yet mind blown state
You were there?
@@chiquitodaviii2913 Pretty sure I was a few ft behind the uploader
i miss matt
Really hoping he comes back man. I didn't even realise he was my favorite until he left
I do too, I hope he’s alright.
I miss the long improv jams they used to do constantly on stage
I keep coming back to this video. Drumming is impeccable.
That middle part reminds me so much of King Crimson.
It's the guitar polyrhythm stuff. You're so right.
@@muzakfan yep, and also the atonality (or should I just say clashing notes) involved. Super cool
Straight up some level five shit

Gang of Four meets Deerhoof. Tasty.
AWESOME!!! Progrock is still alive ... I hear a lot of King Crimson influences ... and that's alright of course
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS DRUMMER MADE OF?!?!?!?!?!?!
Play drums starting from the age of 2 and also be in pretty decent physical shape outside of drumming. That's how.
is that a little YYZ reference at @2:26 lol

Jonny Greenwood stepping in and out of the shot
So cool. Reminds me of mahavishnu

Is it just me or is this song highly danceable?
Johnny Greenwood?
Not even close
That ain't Jonny Greenwood thats Johnny Leenwood
Is this Lee´s Palace??
Yes
This is worse than primus ;)
No sax= much better
Said no one ever
The KEXP performance with the sax was pretty sick. Had a cool lil solo in the middle and everything.
I thought i was alone in this whole world.
More Sax = much better
