What do you mean? They are pressuring them to sell? I'm sorry but if I lived in a sh*thole like this I would be happy to sell too if anybody were buying!
Hey Mikhail :) it is sad in the sense that the people staying in those buildings have most likely worked long and hard to be able to live there and have the amazing view that they have, all to have the hotel groups come in there and want the residents to leave and move somewhere else. Putting ourselves in their situation, we would not be too happy to have to leave a place in such an amazing location. Hope that I have explained that a but better 😄 and thank you for watching!
@@SarahandMarek Guys, first of all most of them didn't work long and hard to get this amazing view. They (or their parents) simply received these apartments from Soviet government for free. The fact that they got an amazing view was either pure luck or a bribe. Secondly, even if they did work long and hard, why do you see these hotels as monsters? If they are offering market prices for these sh*ty apartments, what's wrong with that? Or, do you suspect some sort of evil capitalist conspiracy?

@@SarahandMarek New York New York for almost 30 years. Born and lived in Tbilisi all my previous life. It's different city now. Not like it was in my times.
Now THAT is a city that we would love to visit! 😯 and we can also believe that Tbilisi has changed a lot over the years, cant even imagine what it will look like in next 10 years 😄

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this with us 😊 We really enjoy learning about the Georgian language and culture 🇬🇪❤
"From our limited experience it is quite said to think that these large hotels are putting a lot of pressure on these smaller blocks of flats just to have them demolished so that their guests would have a better view".
@@mikhailiakoubovski Man its a traveling blog, not politics. Plus the subject depends on a country - its laws, ability of individuals to fight for their rights against corporations in courts, level of corruption... So yes, generally speaking u are right, but life on the ground is often not "logical" due to our ignorance about humans as social animals in different cultures and different time-periods. Everybody thinks he knows the right formula that always work....
@@lussdoru3108 Well he started it!!! Marek made a political comment - I just reacted. Oh well...
@@mikhailiakoubovski I know "he started it". But when I hear some political nonsense on a travel or any non-political channel - I just ignore it cause we all have different opinions, values and people cant be educated (or brainwashed) and have personal experience in every field.
Batumi and georgia isnot europe or asia.Georgia is Caucasus.and we are caucasians. 🇬🇪👍good luck to other episodes...❤
That's really interesting 🤔 thank you so much for sharing it with us 😊
Hah McDonald's get leveled ⬆😁
True that! 🕺🏼🍟
No, you are in Asia.
No, it's the Caucasus. By every measure, Caucasian civilization of native peoples.
Georgia is not in Europe, it already belongs to Asia
It's the Caucasus. Not Asia, not Europe. It is ethnically, linguistically, culturally, including writing purely and originally Caucasian. Caucasus is it's own and always has been and always will be. The terms Asia and Europe are fantastically incoherent themselves.
FYI.........Georgia is NOT part of Europe.
Fun fact for the day, having spent some time there, we learnt that there is a small piece of land in the mountains that is classified as European soil which in turn means that Georgia is part of both Europe and Asia at the same time
