Though I'm in the later half of my 30's, I had never played Wizardry until this remake hit. After playing it, my mind was absolutely blown that code made in 1981 still held up as well as it does. I soon came to the conclusion that Wizardry might just be one of the greatest RPG's ever made. An insane thought given how old this game is. I just wanted to say thanks for brining more attention to this remake, sadly it has not gotten nearly the attention it deserves.
I sunk many hours into Wizardry 6. Worth checking out. Wizardry 7 is cool check out original and gold versions. Wizardry 8 is odd duck. They changed perspective, and it's real-time rather than turn based.
Hark, what luck! One of my favorite fellow dungeon crawler likers has graced the comments section! Lol, thanks for watching, duder! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
TY for this interview. Ms. Phillips is a gamer soundtrack treasure. I was born in 1973, and Wizardry was THE game I wanted to play. My cousins had it, and when I stayed at their house one summer I was accused of being there to play that game. Not entirely, but it was my main objective. Then it came out for IBM/PC/MS-DOS. Yay PASCAL! I wonder if the "Thundarr the Barbarian" hidden tile trigger was kept in the remake, and how they fiddled with it.
Congrats! I feel like Winifred is a big get for a relatively little channel. I really appreciated getting her thoughts on the differences between something like GoW vs. Wizardry.
I've always thought that the interviewer asking the questions should be edited out! If they are asking the questions properly.. the person being interviewed will inform the viewer.
The new OST is great, though I'm still a little bummed there isn't a toggle for the old OST because it was one of the main reasons I bought the game. I hope they go and add that in at some point
A bit late but finally got around listening to this! It's insane how illustrious Winifred Phillips' career is! Based on her pieces here, she was a great choice to helm this project! Who knows maybe I will pick up the PS5 version? :)
This interview is absolutely wonderful. She speaks with so much passion, and she has a true grasp on what makes wizardry so fantastic.
Wasn't aware that the OST was freely available. Thanks, I'll just be borrowing that for some potential D&D sessions...
omg... THE Skoad??
Bruh. This is so sick. What a resume Winifred has! She crushed it with this one.
Thanks, duder

probably because it's a very simple 1st person dungeon crawler and not a 3d action rpg
Very cool interview! Love hearing other musicians talk shop.

This reminds me that I need to actually go and finish the remake now that it fully released. Stopped playing it a while ago because of other games.

What a sick video and what a talented and fun composer. Just awesome.
That's a spotless dungeon. Hats off to the ghost maid! Clean walls 👍
Hate spotless dungeons. Gotta keep an eye out for gelantinous cubes.
This was a great interview. Thanks for posting this.
Poggy woggies.
We used to have the NES version back in the day

fantastic video brother, Winifred did such a good job on the OST 😫She really hit that Dungeon Crawling/Fantasy feel on the head.
Right? Just excellent work. Really stoked I got to chat with her for this.
Great work Brendan - fascinating interview
I need a remake of Wizardry 6-7-8 in the style of Wizardry 8.
And a ultima remake would also be welcomed
Winifred is such a fantastic composer and a very nice person

Thanks, Tony! Yeah, we had a great chat. She really loves games and has so many cool insights about how to make music for them.
What a passionate woman, very charming indeed. 10/10 would embark on a quest for her
