Did anyone else notice that almost every vehicle regardless if they were in the officer's lane or not pulled over to the side of the road. You never see that anymore.
It seems to be a regional thing. Where I used to live in Pennsylvania, people didn't seem to move over much if they weren't directly in the way. In Indiana where I live now, everyone, even on a 4 lane highway with center turn lanes, will pull over completely and stop or nearly stop. The only time I don't see people do it here for obvious reasons is a divided highway.
@@Wolf_IT wow Indiana? I'm from SC. And honestly it was something we could use to brag about. If it was a emergency vehicle or funeral we would pull over. It started getting bad about 10 years ago. My father was a fireman for 25 years and never complained about it until the end of his career. One time he had issue were they went to housfire outside town in a community were everybody is nosey. He was driving the truck that night and gets to the house and cant get in the driveway for all the people blocking it and the driveway pulled over being nosey. He was seconds away from moving the car out the way with the damn fire truck but the car was moved. Unfortunately the way the country is now its gonna get worse and worse.

especially in a more rural county like this appears to be. I can safely assume even running coed and doing 110-120 down the freeway I could plan expect a 5 minute response time if not longer. Like if its shift change and most are at the Sheriffs Department then its even longer. Unfortunately Deputies are rarely in my end of the county. Usually not very busy.

Not sure what the point of your statement is, police are here to protect us and if it takes minutes to respond then that is the reality of it. Putting it all in perspective. We just watched a 5 minute and 45 second CODE 3 response time... and we didn't see the two or three minutes BEFORE the video clip where dispatchers were telling officers where to go and why. When your life is on the line you do not have time to wait.
Notice the following distance when an expert driver is behind the wheel? Man, if only everyone would follow that far behind in light traffic... so many accidents could be prevented.
I realize this isn't a pursuit in which most of these polices are enforced but if you can prevent it, don't ever lead with a slick top, mark or unmarked. if you got a unit with a outer lightbar let them lead. Most pursuit polices wont let a unmarked slick top lead the pursuit. Major visibility issue.
With the lights on most unmarked in America that's not true at all, most of them have a better light set up then marked units, if you were to see what passed here in Ireland you would cry it's that bad.... Cars in America are lit up like a Christmas tree 🎄
@@almilhouse9059 but it is true. Especially for the cars. Without the extra height of the light at being on top of the roof all the lights are then below the roof line. In traffic that’s bad. Your light are then blocked by any vehicle around you. So busting a busy intersection can be very dangerous. Going between a two lanes of cars no one from the sides will see you and these days no one hears anything either. Cars are made quiet as hell now on the inside then you throw on the music way louder than it should be…. Add all that up and you got yourself an accident. Again it’s very true and that is why many departments have this policy.

They can initiate a pursuit but a lot of departments have it in their policy that if there is a marked unit involved as well that they take the lead. These are policies I have read from departments I have been to from their policy books. I never claimed to be an expert. I brought this up because I have seen the policies first hand and know it’s true. Yes not all departments have this policy, everyone is different. Maybe you are the one that should. Also my degree in criminal justice and experience in the field would beg to differ. Also: the reason I explained is the exact reason those departments I know for sure put those policies in place. (Another great reason for a dash cam, because that's an unfuckingbelievably bad day for someone refusing to yield to an emergency vehicle / hindering an emergency response, not just a simple traffick ticket...
