whoever they were, thank you, I've taken a spill while in an ambulance( not the driver fault, I feel it could've been worse if didn't make the move he did.) I understand evey second counts but so does safety, if you are or were an EMT & you're reading this... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE ❤
not sure why ambulance slowed down on that intersection when it was secured by the police. they should have passed with full speed and not slow down and lose seconds. this is why you have police escort, so they insure you're safe
@@mirilikolar because there are LOTS of very poor drivers here in Canada, who pay little to no attention to what’s going on around them, that’s why it’s better to be safe than sorry.
@@mirilikolar Because a police escort doesn't stop drivers? Last time I checked, a red light means stop, yet plenty of people die from drivers that don't stop. If that ambulance gets into an accident and the patient or family member dies, the only person to blame is the EMT driving that ambulance. They put their foot on the pedal to make the ambulance go through the light regardless of the circumstances, so I commend them for taking the proper steps to ensure a safe transport. A few seconds rarely ever makes a difference in someone's life if they are in the back of an ambulance, regardless of what you think.

38 year LEO here. Depending where you were years ago up until today many agencies resources didn't provide any. When I started career we had 2 officers North County, 1 South, and 2 East in a 1800 Sq mile County in Florida. Here in the Netherlands you see this very often. Here we call this sort of escort VTB (Verkeers Technische Begleiding | Traffic Technical Escort) but here we use Motorcyclists because they can accelerate very fast and so get fast from intersection to intersection.
Many times I've heard about life and death emergencies, but this is the first time I've ever seen a real one. My compliments to the motorists at this intersection who somehow sensed something serious was happening and they stayed right where they were, out of the way.

The quickest run I heard about was a run from Pembroke to Ottawa in the 1970s. An officer got shot and was taken to the hospital, but the hospital in Pembroke was not equipped to deal with gunshot wounds. The police escorted the ambulance to Ottawa at an average speed of 90 miles an hour.
One escorts are gut-wrenching for first responders. Having done them during my career, I can imagine what is going through their minds as they hustle to get the patients to the hospital in time.
Why did the ambulance slow down at the intersection when they have police escort blocking traffic?? One police car should stay in front of the ambulance at all times and rest blocks traffic ahead to clear the road. The police did a good job!
I hope I never see an escort in my life, because that means something truly awful has happened. Namely kids or first responders are hurt, usually critically.
Seems a bit jank why is the suv stopping when the crossing is already blocked seems like wasted energy... We have the escorted vehicle the pace and 2 sometimes 3guards. Guard one would race to the next crossing stop and wait guard 2 would pass to the next crossing and play leap frog the pace never leave the escorted and is in total radio communication with guards to see when to speed up flow down lane to be used so on aim is the escord never stops and the speed is smooth.
Couldnt you get the same effect with 1 cop car that is a few seconds ahead of the ambulance to create the initially traffic halt. People would stay put once they heard another siren coming. This is not unlike when I see a fire truck. They almost always travel in pairs so I know another one is coming after I see the first one.

It's still a good practice to slow and be prepared for the unexpected. While every second counts 2 or 3 seconds lost in the slowing process won't be of any detriment. Easy to talk when sitting at the computer.
I hope it was not Trudeau in that ambulance becouse if it was in my opinion they should have went slower and taken the scenic route showed him the grave yard and a few points of interest like the gas stations high prices cost of food at the store and building materials Al the lumber yards ...
