- @triggerpod co-hosts Konstantin Kisin and Francis Foster joined Peter Boghossian for Spectrum Street Epistemology (SSE) in London. The discussion was held in front of Middlesex Guildhall, the building housing the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Peter offered more than a dozen claims to Konstantin and Francis, initially focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Topics include Hamas, “proportionate” military response, Israel’s right to exist, anti-Semitism, the incitement of violence, and the limits of free speech. This is part one of the conversation.
Konstantin Kisin is a Russian-British author, satirist, and cultural critic. He is the author of “An Immigrant's Love Letter to the West,” a bestselling book about free speech and cancel culture through the perspective of an Eastern bloc immigrant.
Francis Foster is a cultural commentator, well-known comedian, and former teacher of English and drama. Before launching Triggernometry, he co-hosted the “Probably Offensive” podcast.
Konstantin and Francis co-host Triggernometry, a podcast dedicated to free speech and open discussion of controversial topics.

Everything is about religion, because religion is about an individual's world view, not whether or not they believe in God.
@@jswets5007 Hmm, not sure I'd agree with that. Don't religions and ideologies have to involve an element of faith to count as religious, whereas an individual's worldview can (often does not, but CAN when it's not ideological) be based on tangible proof?
@@RaefonBIf you dig far enough into a worldview there’s a leap of faith. You may think it’s an obvious leap, but how can you be sure you have enough tangible proof to make that leap? Confidence/faith
Most examples would lead to a “oh so you’re defending [insert atrocity]?!?”
@@dabidibup I'd agree that within every individual's worldview there is likely to be some stuff that involves a leap of faith. But outlooks/opinions on some issues can be fully-informed by hard data/tangible evidence. So I still disagree with your original statement that "everything is about religion" because how you're defining religion is foggy to me and the statement seems too all-encompassing. If you were referring solely to the discussion in the video about the Israel-Palestine conflict, I might be more inclined to agree; did I misunderstand the original comment?

Three of my favorite people! Long live critical thinking, free speech and and open dialogue!
That konstantin guy tries so hard to be tough but hes such a douche lol
Not see the last trigger doc with Doug Murray being an arrogant sanctimonious prick claiming all the street protests are anti semitic and the Israeli government is justified in destroying Gaza even if Hamas is an unelected junta ….
May these two be together forever. They are a fine example of human relationships. And PB is wonderful.
Peanut butter?

Easily Peter's best vid I've ever watched. Shows how people can disagree about things without feeling attacked personally.
Thank you!
@@drpeterboghossian, you are urged to become VEGAN, since carnism (the destructive ideology that supports the use and consumption of animal products, especially for “food”) is arguably the foremost existential crisis.🌱

Because it was done between ppl that actually want to debate and discussing different ideas and points of view...and not just simply shut down the other side or talk without litterally knowing anything on the matter, like all woke ppl do, putting lived experience and feelings way above facts and logic...
@dimercamparini yeah those 2 individuals who had the opportunity to come over and say their point of view to a massive audience refused. The left does not want to debate their ideas and beliefs but rather they want to live in an echo chamber of single thought
The Lebanon was a majority Christian country, Beirut considered the Paris of the middle east and after they charitably took in Palestinian refugees, things changed. Within a decade saw the country destroyed, Christians murdered & leaving became majority muslim. There was no support from Christian nations, the Israelis provided a safety zone on their border for Lebonaese Christians. Same with Jordan, took them in & they wanted to ditch the king, help then came from Pakistan. Probably answeres the question as to why Arab muslim states decline to take Palestinians in, say they are a deslabilising element.
Easily the best 40 minutes I've spent this week. Intelligent, thoughtful answers from two men willing to admit when they felt that they were not informed enough about something. Brilliant! Can't wait for more.
I feel exactly the opposite...
Only a few minutes in and such ridiculous answers.
They seem to be shaped by so much propaganda rather than reason.
Maybe that's the case for you if you're not listening to the other side of the arguments.
These comedians need to stick to comedy.
I used to watch their shows every week, but on this issue they are terrible.
Same with the Ukraine War
@@MattAngionoI agree answers straight from bbc news 😂
@@canyonsand I agree with you that evidence should be provided for these claims. But he's probably labelling them as comedians because they both were stand-up comedians, Francis still is, and their podcast (the 'RAW' episodes, less so the interviews) is a comedic take on social commentary...?
Not intelligent. Very naive answers sometimes!
@@MattAngionoConsidering it was an opinion exercise, I would be interested to know the propaganda claims. If you recognize it, you know the source and misinformation. Or is propaganda code for opinions you don't like?
Man, this was great. Please do more of these with well informed people. It’s the kind of debate we need.
Prior to viewing this, I saw a clip of a UK citizen being arrested for criticizing migrants for flying Palestinian flags in his neighborhood.
And others being caution by the police not to fly the English, or even the British flag.
@@AndyJarman Link to the clip?
see a few of these recently
That look at the end, "screw that, let's do abortion" is perfect.
Can't wait for part two, keep up the good work.
This is a beautiful example of 2 people who don't necessarily agree on a heavy topic having a mature discussion about it. I also feel like they aim to enrich each other and not "win an argument". Obviously these two know each other well and they made the possibility of having these discussions their life's work but it's beautiful to see the result of that work.
I truly love it when my fave creators come together to colab. Everytime the TriggerPod lads visit America, we (the viewers) get such a treat in different content & Peter visiting England here is absolutely doing the same thing.
Peter, I am (as always) so very intrigued & appreciative of your videos & dedication, thank you. Your street epistemology has become a firm fave way for me to sincerely attempt to listen to others opinions & understand why they hold them.
Edit- Cheers to all involved for a great, thoroughly enjoyable & interesting convo! 🇬🇧💫🇬🇧
We will need a bit more of this collaboration. Well Done Gentleman.
Thank you!
So happy that KK brought up Thomas Sowell. No one else explains this world as clearly and logically without emotion-just facts like Thomas Sowell!!
It's not like Thomas doesn't have a bias.
There's a reason for the phrase "cherry picking"
Evidence isn't proof.
Remember, there's alternative evidence on many issues.
I'm not saying he's wrong about everything, but be careful, he definitely is pushing a worldview
Shout-out to whoever brought everyone a coffee at 19:23 😃
Saw Konstantin on on Chris Williamson and instantly liked him a great deal. Francis grew on me a bunch on this ep., even after watching many Triggernometry episode since Modern Wisdom.
Peter, it’s so good to see you joining with other big names. As long as your SE method isn’t a household term, it’s incredibly underrated. I think it will catch on as long as you keep reaching out
Reid and I are doing our best! We’ll be putting out some great new SSE content soon!
It's delightful to watch people who really get the concept to play!! Thanks guys!!!
Thank you!
I was _not_ expecting this collab, but I guess it makes sense. That was super interesting, glad there will be a part 2.
What a treat. Konstantin and Francis always manage to be both thoughtful and entertaining, and this discussion was no exception.
Except for them being wrong about so much!
I say this as a fan of several years.
They've lost me here though.
Just propaganda essentially, or they've been duped into believing it
@MattAngiono What were they wrong about and what is your evidence?
@rogerward801 Well, I already answered this, but TH-cam deletes comments it doesn't like.
Just answer me how "Hamas is the problem" and how "this would be solved if we get rid of Hamas?"
How is that possible?
Can you get rid of an idea?
Did the war on terror work?
Why, then, is there still terror happening?
Why was there conflict in Palestine before Hamas came into existence in 1987?
They ignore all these points, obviously, so how can we even have an intelligent conversation about the conflict?
@MattAngiono They did not put all blame on Hamas. They also acknowledged that it wasn't a religious issue as Muslims and Jews had been living side by side for centuries. It is a territorial issue. A 2 state solution has been proposed by the Jewish side several times but turned down by the Palestinians. The extreme Palestinians want it all and are not willing to accept a Jewish state
@@rogerward801 that's factually untrue.
They didn't accept an unfair deal...
Look at the numbers of what was taken and what they were offered.
It was completely unjust.
You would reject it too if it were your home.
But it's ISRAEL that won't accept a fair deal.
Also, explain how a 2 state solution is even possible....
Gaza and the West Bank are NOT CONNECTED.
So Israel is going to separate the state of Palestine?
Are they going to let Palestinians come and go freely?
Are they all of a sudden going to stop being racist?
Also, you didn't answer my previous questions....
How can you get rid of Hamas?
Will another resistance not take its place?
Again, you can't really talk about this intelligently without at least acknowledging the occupation and the consequences of that!
Love KK n FF. They represent us regular people trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world, through a bit of humour too.
Wonderful, Peter! Thanks for interviewing the boys!
Thank you!
This is the crossover of my dreams!
Totally agree! 🎉❤
This is so cool. Very smart to maintain the format. You want to bring people to the street. We've had enough of talking head interviews.
I love seeing this format with intelligent people that continue to discuss and ask clarifying questions. They then articulate their position, belief, or view of the topic. No crazy diversions. They also contemplate the question before responding rather than spouting off random crap they’ve heard.
I think the reason why you don't see people who represent the woke Left engaging in open discourse, aside from merely regurgitating talking points that are fed to them via social media, is that 1) they just want to be right and validated as such regardless of whether it has sustainability in the real world, 2) they are too lazy to invest in actually thinking thoroughly about an issue, 3) they feel more empowered in blind anger than being humble before the truth.
Very true. They don’t know why they are so emotionally supportive and invested in the cause nor can they accurately and concisely describe it or give current examples.
This format has to be one of the best I have witnessed.
It tables good questions that then allows for nuance and perspectives to be given AND developed - something seldom able to be shown in general back and forward 'argument' in a panel situation.
Well done all of you.
I love seeing this done with ppl who can actually disagree and converse still
they barely disagree.
You got these two moving so much in just one video, they can skip cardio today. 😉
Ha, true!
Boghossian's debate model/system is purdy cool.....well done PB..
The state of Israel is disliked if not hated by most other Middle East countries because in spite of it’s size it is highly successful and democratic. Jealously is a factor
Jealousy and Jew hated. Like always.
Great stuff! There's always been a tendency to underestimate Francis; much of the time he only pretends to be a blunt instrument! Here he shows his edge. Brilliant questions. Five star content.
Thought I'd watch first few minutes of this - here I am 40 minutes later.
same!!
Imagine if our political leaders had to do this as a live debate.
I feel like voters would be far better informed and we would get a visual representation of when they just didn't answer the questions.
They wouldn’t play because they would have a sudden attack of gout.
There has been plenty of visual representation of when they just didn’t answer the questions, there’s just too many “blind” people out there
No offence to registered blind people meant
PB, another great episode with two of my favorite gents! FF and KK are really funny, but also incredibly thoughtful and honest. Looking forward to seeing P2!
Much appreciated!
I absolutely love Peter asking these questions. I love how he is so curious about it all. And so willing to explore it.
This kind of public conversation is so desperately needed between 2 good faith actors.
Intellectual honesty in a fruitful debate (so far), thank you for the epistemology!!!
These three guys will disagree but still end up in the pub for a pint! That’s how things should be! 🍻
the english don't dislike the french for religious regions. the germanic tribes didn't sack rome for religious reasons. Genghis didn't conquer the world because of religious differences. wars in japan weren't mostly because of religious disagreements.
So fantastic! Having the Triggernometry guys play shows how well the game can work when players want to be rational (including acknowledging the limits of their knowledge) -- more, please!
Three of the most thoughtful and reasonable guys on YT. Love you all.
Can't wait for part 2
Three of my favorite people having a favorite type of conversation of mine. Chef's kiss.
bravo Francis… takes balls of steel to stand behind these convictions at the moment. ✌️
What a great, engaging and thought provoking conversation. Really strong material
Thanks
Eye for an eye limits the bounds of retributive justice in a tribal system that is prone to feuds where revenge can quickly accelerate. Excellent conversation.
I know it’s not insightful.. but I didn’t know Francis was so tall! 😮
What an interesting discussion Peter! It's always great to see Konstantin and Francis as well so a discussion between them regarding your questions was such a thrill to see/listen to. It's great that you have street epistemology with both passerbys and also like this.
Three intelligent people talk to each other. Nice. Unfortunately, that does not happen too often these days.
What a treat, 3 of my favourite people having intelligent and enlightening debate. Thanks guys we need your wisdom now more than ever.
Congrats to Konstantin for being the only one to take the lid off his coffee to take a sip. 😂
Would it work if politicians debated like this? Really love the style of this interview/debate. Mind blown!
This was incredible. Thank you. Taking a nuanced position and honestly showing your reasoning and be ready to change your mind is always a pleasure to see.
Wow! Awesome idea for a colab. ❤ Triggernometry and Brown Belt Boghossian. 🙏🏾🇺🇸❤️
This is the mashup we never expected but thank you so much for it!
An excellent example of how well this discourse works.
Well done everyone! Intelligent conversation!
Thank you!
Wonderful, thank you Peter. Watching, thoughtful, intelligent and caring people wrestle with the horror that is unfolding before our eyes , is like water in a desert.
This also has moved me to dig deep into my own soul, before opening my mouth.
Look kids! People who sometimes don't agree can get along!
Absolutely eye opening….wonderful 👏
Keep on doing these please. Keep showing how civil discourse, reasonable debate, calmness, politeness and above all how important critical thinking is.
It may feel like cycling, wash, rinse, repeat while trying to get through to our woke indoctrinated youth, but this content stays and will be watched, even by silent observers and they will sit and think.
I once spent a day with you several years ago in Orlando and was too afraid to open my mouth about all my thoughts on what was happening in my atheist group regarding social justice warriors. Now seeing your work I wish I had. Thank you for all you do.
I have watched Anthony Magnabosco applying your method years ago and he really mastered it, but I have to say, I'm very happy to see you doing it yourself in this format.
Involving two people in the discussion and illustrating their different viewpoints is really helpful.
In addition, one-on-one SE always had the risk of leading to a confrontative argument, I feel like this format puts you into a moderator role and helps to avoid confrontation, making people more open to reflect on their views.
I will be attempting this method with some of my students. Fantastic!
Three excellent men in the podcast space. Wonderful to see the cross-over and engagement.
Enjoyed listening to the thoughtful, measured, and considered answers to some common questions concerning the Middle Eastern conflict at this time.
Thank you so much. This is a very good interaction. You become richer watching people like this.
It was a pleasure listening to these fine and intelligent chaps. One of your best discussions yet!
Love this. Thank you for helping me keep sane ❤

1st Ammendment (in USA) does not allow for calling for killing people nor thratening to kill people.
4:21 Is it bad I started singing "how do you solve a problem like Hamas..." to Rodgers and Hammerstein "Maria"?
haha😂 but yes😮 it scans much better to sing "I'm gonna wash hamas right out of my hair, I'm gonna wash hamas right out of my hair, I'm gonna wash hamas right out of my hair, and send them on their way"
😊j/k!
Hmmm... wasn't sure what to expect of this one.
Found it surprisingly interesting.
The questions and the way they were framed pulled me in. Thinking about how I would answer them myself.
I was intrigued by the way KK and FF each thought about each question. Attempted to give reasons for their thought processes. Agreed to disagree on some issues, and recongnised and were open to a valid argument.
I didn't always agree with either or both but could see and understand where they were coming from.
Sometimes, because I felt a bit more knowledgeable on some of the facts and background.
Sometimes, the reverse. When one or other, or both, seemed to have a better knowledge, understanding, or argument, that made sense to me.
I enjoyed the format and the way Peter challenged them to explain their reasoning.
Look forward to Part 2. 👍👋
Same here, didn't agree with all that KK and FF said, but their willingness to be transparent about their thought processes and logic behind their stances is what we need to see more of in the world. And Peter's format and style of questioning was, as always, an essential factor in helping that back-and-forth to flow calmly.
This should be broadcast on public television.
Semi biased questions. Would’ve been good if you asked them questions pertaining to both sides. Regardless the format was well executed. Was a bit wild to see strongly agree for the question regarding military taking care of limiting civilian casualties.
Good point on why Daily Wire is not a fair replacement. We need a Totally Unbiased media (ALL of them) to Fairly and Impartially cover EVERY side of EVERYTHING happening around the globe.
One thing a lot of people don't realise is that Hamas were mostly elected due to disatisfaction among the people of Gaza with how Fatah managed their daily lives (rubbish collection etc) and with the perceived corruption of Fatah. Support for their charter, while not negligible was far from a primary driver for voting them and the vote was much closer than the seat allocation reveals.
And they've had no chance to vote for anyone since 2006
This was fantastic!
Brilliant work fellas!
Thanks for this!
Thanks for watching!
Omg yay! This is to much fun!
"I hate to sound like Jordan Peterson here but it depends what you mean by peace." So good.
Brilliant exercises.
Brilliant piece of work cannot wait second part
Respect to KK and FF. Two good guys
What a fascinating format, I feel more broadly informed on your subjects!
Very interesting, thanks guys!
Thank you!
Excellent format by the way, I really enjoyed your program and will subscribe.😊
I enjoyed this greatly. I can't help but feel that I want want some sort of separate recap video for these sessions in which Pete summarizes his thoughts about the session, as well as adds additional clarification/explanation for key points of the session. Maybe I am missing something. I am relatively new to the videos, having seen them intermittently over time.
What a awesome idea to figuring out of this conflict from different perspectives, I love you guys and keep up your good job 👏🏼 ❤🙏

I love all three of you guys and especially seeing you together!!! 🙏
Thank you!
Everyone has great jackets on.
Loved this! Nice to have some intelligent participants. There have been several participants in recent episodes who are either blinded to opposing arguments by their religious beliefs, or seem to lack the capacity for critical thinking. Great discussion
This was so so insightful ♥️♥️♥️
Great episode Peter , Konstantin and Francis
This crossover was as good as when Charlie's Angels went on the Love Boat! I want to do Street Epistemology, but what are the chances of just stumbling upon it?
thanks guys, keep fighting!!!
fantastic!
I ❤ed this! Well done Peter. Well done guys.
Great Format, pls continue !!
We will!
What I absolutely love the most is how Konstantin and Francis are able to steel man opposing arguments and take them down on the merit. This to me is the essence of critical thinking.
