I put a Solas 12/14 Impeller and Stainless Steel Wear Ring on my Sea-Doo Spark

  • Having trouble getting your spark to wheelie? This is the video for you! After a bad wear ring diagnosis I figured I might as well do the impeller while putting in a new one. The Solas 12/14 got the nod along with the Solas stainless steel wear ring and reliable tuning seal.
    Video includes background on the impeller, install, and lots of POV footage.

    Had the 120hp tune on mine first and followed up with the prop and wear ring: it feels much more vicious out of the hole and in mid range punch. Top end I think it almost identical to stock (51mph GPS) which is a huge win: no trade off.

  • @stevek8377
    @stevek8377 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    You can keep the wheelie without VTS you just gotta put all your weight on the back, and lightly hold the throttle, it drops flat once you get above like 8mph. But if you have it up high enough it won’t accelerate past about 9-10, just gets a little harder to control lol

  • @BELLON
    @BELLON ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The speed is a guess speed from the rpm? 🤔 I always thought it was a GPS speed, that's why you have the satellite icon?

    So when I was a kid I had a 1994 XP which apparently had 80HP and at the time was the fastest thing in the water. Turns out the top speed is on par with this. But this thing looks way lighter and more stable. My father had a 3 seater GTX without VTS. I can tell you by adjusting the VTS all the way out of the water you get much more speed. Your handling tanks and your stopping. The old ones had a plastic pin that moved up and down. Mine would stick and show I was all the way in the water when I was all the way out. I came in to dock and cut the throttle but the thing kept going. I couldnt turn either because it was essentially gliding on top of the water. Needless to say I jumped off with no injury and the craft had a small bump with the pier. Nothing a little fiberglass filler and paint didnt fix. But in short get the VTS.

    isn't the speed on these read by gps... that's why the little pic of the satellite up top. so cavitation wouldn't effect speed reading... with gearing/propellers you can't gain both unless you are just far out of wack to the point of big losses. you either gain torque/take off or speed. but not both.

    To me the way to go would be to buy the 60hp and tune it with a Solas prop but since I want iBR and Seadoo doesn't have the iBR as an option on the 60 hp I'd have to get a 90hp.
