How to Record Voice on Windows 10

In this video learn how you can easily record your voice and audio on Windows 10. I walk through two different apps - the first is the Voice Recorder app that comes pre-installed as part of Windows 10. It's basic but gets the job done. Next, I show Audacity from www.audacityteam.org, which is a free and powerful voice recording app. I walk through how to get it and show some of the basic functionality.

Hey man, thanks for the recommendations. They were very helpful. After your video I used the standard windows voice recording program, simply because I needed something quick. She is relatively good. But unfortunately, at least for me, the volume of the produced recording is very low. But I also tried the one you also recommended Audacity and in fact her sound seems much cleaner and louder even at low PC volume settings. So thanks!

You only need one if your computer doesn't already have an internal one. Most laptops do, most pcs dont

This totally saved my day. Making a bunch or training videos using a Doodly software. The audio is really bad. I don't want to invest in mixer and complicated DAW programs. the Audacity did great!! tahnks

Kevin - I appreciate your great videos. Timer in Audacity? Is it possible to record a radio program which is available as a podcast (e.g. 50 minutes long), where I press the START RECORD button, but leave a timer to stop the recording? In the example above, I'd set it to STOP RECORDING at 51 minutes. Does such a facility exist in Audacity? Thanks
