      @@LisetteCraftsandTells
      Lisette,
      I finished Al Fresco - an older DAC. It’s a scene in Italy with the building facades and cobbled pathway with dining tables. It’s about a 50x70 or so. If I framed it the way you just did on those bars it would have taken away a lot of the building facades and window planter boxes - which was the best part of the picture. There’s no “margin” along the sides of the painting. I did see someone on TH-cam paint over the white canvas margins with black paint. This is what you would see on the sides of the frame. And you wouldn’t loose any of the painting.
      I had to totally sympathize with you when you were cutting into the corner drills. It was scary for sure.
      For a while I stopped buying kits. But now I’m doing it again. Lol. Just bought some Craftibly 4.0. But I think I’ll use all my points and get Brookside Retreat when it comes back In August. Then I’ll no longer be a Diamond Level. Lol
      I’m finding I don’t care for the older kits I bought two years ago. Do you know a way I can sell them? I don’t think I’ll ever do them.
      Always look forward to watching your channel. And you honest and humble opinions. 😊

    I've been wondering how I'm going to frame 2 pictures I have. I have used foam board for smaller pictures which works okay but it tends to warp if you glue the canvas to foam board and the edges don't look nice and neat. I've looked at ready made stretched canvases and those are way too costly. I like this stretcher bar method, and I've watched some videos and yours is the first where you did it exactly the way I want to do it. I want the edges and top and bottom to have the canvas/drills showing. I've seen some videos on here where washi tape is showing or the white border of the canvas with the drill color/symbol legend on it, and I'm thinking, who would want to do it like that?? It looks so unfinished. Congratulations! I was scared right along with you! Haha!! Great job Lisette and beautiful picture. I love Josephine Wall's art.

    Looking at the site to order it says”
    (make sure your painting with 3cm edge extra, i mean the canvas size should more than the wood frame size 6cm at least)
    sounds like I’m suppose to add 6 inches? My picture is 30x40 those numbers are listed should I select those or add or subtract 6 inches? That would make it a custom size, I’m confused.

    • @LisetteCraftsandTells
      @LisetteCraftsandTells  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Janet - if you are going to frame a small one - just know that if you're taking of 6 cm (not inches!) that it might alter the total effect. I'm not sure if I would recommend this framing method (with the drills going over the side) for small paintings.

    • @vagal2312
      @vagal2312 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Janet, I haven't done it before, but this is also how I understand it. To me, if the canvas had 3 cm extra edge on all sides, you could measure the framing to fit the edge of the actual picture, roll the sides up that do not have the picture on it, and no need to cut into your actual diamond field. I have 2 that currently need to be framed and this is the approach I am going to take. I just feel the only reason you would need to cut into your diamond work is if there isn't enough canvas bordering the picture.
