    Its so nice to hear you talking about your doubts and uncertainty while you're painting. Ive never heard any artist admit to them 😊

      That's a good point. I think having doubts is a prerequisite of being an artist. It means you are assessing your work and wanting to improve. Whether or not you admit to them is a matter of ego...

    I'm having fun watching the video. I'm a Korean student who wants to start oil painting this time. I have a question What kind of oil are you using? I bought a linsed terrefin, and I'm curious about the rate of mixing oil. I asked you a question with a Google translator because I can't speak English. Please understand.

    LOVE THIS. I've created a "library" of Midjourney images that I would like to use as the basis of a painting (I'm just beginning, and creating AI "paintings" actually led me to want to try actual painting). It seems to be a fantastic tool for artists, and a way to use AI, rather than rally against it. GREAT VIDEO!

      By using AI software you are essentially allowing the programmers of the software to do all of the creative work for you. The devs are the ones that designed the software to create new images in a set matter.

    A word of caution about using AI generated references, one of the easiest ways to detect them in from inconsistent lighting. For a painter, you're literally supposed to be drawing light. This can cause a LOT of issues if you're just coasting.

    Like the painting. Been thinking a lot about AI as a tool. I’ve played around with adding an AI generated background scene to a figure that I’ve painted. I’ve created several background scenes and picked out the elements I like for the final painting. I think AI will be a positive thing. Will allow an artist to push the boundaries of ‘HumaN’ imagination.

      Humans are still doing the creative work for you. The developers program the software to manipulate images in a set way. The developers are humans that are doing the creative work for you. To get true artificial intelligence would require a fully conscious being that is capable of independent thinking. Something that is far off the map. AI should be called developer designed manipulation in the context of the software people are using for image manipulation.

    • @BenKrisfield

      @@johnbloom1109 All the creative work is being done by me the artist. Very little is being provided by AI. All AI is doing is providing another perspective. I think it is massively overstated that AI is going to be the centre piece of art projects. Authenticity is important to me, and I have no intention of producing art made by AI. AI apps are no different than a brush, a tube of paint, a pencil.

  • @johnbloom1109
    @johnbloom1109 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not manipulate the photo in light room and Photoshop to get the desired image that you want? Don't see the point in painting from photo. Photo looks nothing like real life. It would be better to manipulate photo in light room and photo shop and then print. Once you start copying or even working from photos you are essentially photo editing.
