    Thank you for posting on landscapes. My passion is portrait work but I want to learn about landscapeas as well. I learn so much from your channel - it's the education I never received as an artist!

    I'm surprised you don't have a larger following. Your teachings have been invaluable to me and my artistic journey. Whenever I'm in a quandary, I always come back to your channel for guidance. I never understood the importance of colour mixing or values before I stumbled upon your channel, but you've taught me so much. Thank you for that.

    What a masterpiece, if you start analysing it, it has so much abstract texture that makes it so precious, and much much more than just a landscape, which itself is beautiful.

    Excellent demo, you make it looks so easy! I just started landscapes, takes me a long time to do everything right now. For example those atmospheric perspective faraway tones i take ages to to mix... Quick question: What led you to hold your brush that way? Does it help with that 'irregular stroke' thing? I have heard the imprssionists always held the brush more towards the end of the handle but I always forget to try and do that and end up holding the brush like a pencil and probably makes the strokes too tight. Gotta remember to try that grip next time.

    I have been learning from you for several years, and have found all of your teaching to be of great value. However, your color mixing instruction has had the greatest impact on my own painting journey. Over the past twenty years of instruction I have been taught by many high level international artists such as yourself to copy works by my favorite artist at least once a month or as often as possible as an exercise in understanding tonal values, color harmony, and brush strokes. Can you recommend a printer? The one I have (Canon 9000 series) never gets the right values or even the right color. I am using my iPad with a thin glass screen protector, which is ok but not as good as a glossy print.

    Another excellent video. However, I can’t seem to understand how those very neat piles of premixed colours appear on the palette. Continuous and repeated mixing on several sheets of palette paper? I’d need a full sheet of plywood to get all of those mixed. Ideas?

      Debes esperar q seque la primera capa1 a 2 días dependiendo de la cantidad de aceite y solvente q hayas empleado....La regla de oro es la primera capa más solvente q aceite... las últimas capas vas disminuyendo el solvente pues tendrá más aceite de linaza....De este modo en las siguientes capas de pintura ya secas vas ajustando el color ...😊😊😊

    That’s what I’ve doing, creating my reference in mid journey and then painting it, I feel that artists that present the ai generated image as a final work are not that ethical, if you’re not able to paint it the don’t present it as your own… I think hahah

    Dude, you are at Bob Ross level now. I LOVE your work and learned so much from you but lately you have been “not challenging” to say the least. And this AI image creation is such a lazy way of organizing a composition, letting it do all the work for you while you just copy it. Setting up your own scenes and composition is the true artist eye. Come on now.

    • @oldgold5848
      @oldgold5848 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Comparing a proper artist to Bob Ross is a bit of an insult. He was entertaining but very formulaic. This guy can paint.

    • @alannciooo
      @alannciooo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cmon dude, let him do what he wants. Why everything has to be "challenging"?, literally, he said he wanted to practice the abstract brushes, and if AI can do a lot of the previous work like composition and setting all the subject, I don't see bad using it as long the goal to achieve is in mind. If u want some challenges, go search them!

    • @artistaccount
      @artistaccount ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree but maybe draw mix paint is getting comfy with painting new things fast. these past videos are quicker than most of his I think he'll realize he can do it with his mind's eye. And he'll go down a more spontaneous road

  • @johnpyra7956
    @johnpyra7956 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to be completely honest, your portraiture and still life are amazing but the landscapes need to improve. The values aren't strong enough to add drama, if you compare the original photograph the cloud has this ominous feeling and the trees are denser. the trees in the painting do not have this feeling at all and everything is too much in the midtones. Thank you for your tutorial.

      If my memory is working, no, he doesn’t throw it away. A few years ago, in his earlier videos, he talks about what he does with the remaining paint. I forgot what it is, but he doesn’t get rid of it. I’m sorry I’m not much help. All I can say is listen through his videos from 3-4 yrs ago. AND if it wasn’t Mark, it was from The Paint Coach that I’m referring to. 😂
