Absolutely FANTASTIC! Thanks! LHR is really specific about speeds to fly and keeps you fast until the end (final flaps at 7:30). Spoilers required to slow down here and the low-speed aileron was interesting to watch. The condensation was great! I enjoyed it. And it reminds me that I still do want to be an airline pilot after being stuck as a poor flight instructor for 5 years due to the economy. Thanks!
I've only flown with United once before and really liked it I really liked that you could listen to the pilots chatting to air traffic control. In fact during during my flight across to New York I remember the pilots were chatting with other flight going in the same direction swapping email addresses. In fact I think this was the flight I was on United 94 to New York JFK
I wasn't aware that 9R was used that often. I had spoken to Pilot for a major airline at LHR and they too said that it's not used as much as the other runways for landings. Like it though, especially for departure. Brilliant video.
Great video, I love flying with the United T7s no matter how old they are. Had the pleasure of having N778UA as my first UA T7 ride and it was a rocket. Ch. 9 is also a definite plus, even more so than the map.
ATC English is universal / worldwide for all airlines / airports / countries...all the words used in the US are basic english as is here in the UK, just with some subtle / minor differences in pronunciation, re-arranging...obvious times of confusion are like floor levels (ground/1st, 1st/2nd, etc), also where we walk on the pavement here, in the US you walk on the sidewalk, but the pavement is the road surface!
@B0eing1992 Long flights are kind of realaxing. I've gone on many. I in fact flew this route! I flew British airways though. The meals are sometimes good too. And your chair reclines a bit more. It's pretty fun!
@stevop21 Thanks, nope 09R is normally open for all aircraft to land on if there is nothing departing like here. But in the mornings like this it is more common
@stevop21 Nope Departing Flights get priority, the takeoff runway is only aloud to be used for landings if there is no aircraft departing and missing there slot. Like after the Alitalia departed after we landed a Delta 764 Landed.
@draoi99 Thanks for the information although at LHR atm they don't mind it. I have hooked it up to car speakers very loud while the police go by and airport secruity
Ohhh right, yeah if I remember correctly we hit a Jetstream that created a Tail wind of nearly 200knts. Sorry I'll correct that, I think anyway this was nearly 2 Years ago now!
@fpx2gwak Ohhh, put headphones on full volume and up against your mic, i have 2 mics so thats why it goes from L to R and that noise is the bits around the headphones :)
That's marvellous. How did you record the ATC? Is it allowed? I heard somewhere that it's illegal to monitor ATC in the UK. Hence you can't get any UK airport on LiveATC.
Nice Video And Epic Plane Too. In December Im From Pearson Toronto To London England To Italy Pisa. On The Way Back Im Going From Italy Pisa To London England To New York To Toronto Pearson With british airlines and the planes are boeing 777 boeing 767 airbus a319 and cr7 How Did You Get ATC Included?
@B0eing1992 Nope, you or others may but I weirdly don't. I can sleep fine on planes I'm just worried about sleeping through all the way til touchdown! Once I land I normally just go back home/hotel, eat, look at the pictures/videos then go bed. Simple! Jetlag only lasts 1 week. If you go auzzie it's more like 2 I think. Depends
@smarttubber123 Saying "goodbye" or other proper greetings of the day is usually a practice of courtesy between pilots and controllers. Even though they don't see each other or will never meet, they are still acting as a quasi-team to get the job done.
I wonder what version 777 this was, I usually sit at the same position on a UA 777 and its seat 31 A or K, the two stand alone seats next to the lavs/crew rest areas.
@BringEllisTheHoriZon That's OK. They don't really enforce it but it's best not to be seen or heard doing it. However, if you have a two-way and interfere with broadcasts you could have some serious trouble.
@BringEllisTheHoriZon According to Section 5(1)(b) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1949 as interpreted by the UK Radiocommunications Agency in their information bulletin of January 2001, it is an offence under that act to listen in on ATC, without permission. That's why LiveATC don't carry any UK streams. Maybe the law has changed recently, but I haven't heard anything about it.
Very nice video......Audio from Heathrow ATC makes it more exciting!!!!

This was very well done. I've never been to LHR before but from what I can tell, it is a VERY busy airport.
I wasn't aware that 9R was used that often. I had spoken to Pilot for a major airline at LHR and they too said that it's not used as much as the other runways for landings. Like it though, especially for departure. Brilliant video.
I love watching this approach. You are so lucky to travel the world. Keep them coming (with ATC of course)
wow, i love the ATC chatter in this, esp how it ties in with the approach, very nice quality also!
It is amazing that they don't have accidents, with one side speaking American and the other British :))
Wow a nice sunny day at UK :-) great video !
I loved Channel 9 so much when I was on boarded
Great video, I love flying with the United T7s no matter how old they are. Had the pleasure of having N778UA as my first UA T7 ride and it was a rocket. Ch. 9 is also a definite plus, even more so than the map.
Wind was 090'/04knts. 220kias is what you're talking about, that's not wind, that's Indicated Airspeed. 220knts is 253mph.
Great video!!! I have the same flight from SFO to LHR, not as good a video as yours though. Im flying on UA954 next week, can't wait!
Great video! I heard Delta 6 from my hometown DTW around 4:40 :)
what a majestic wing.
Very nice video. Going in my favorites. Keep these vids coming!

Were you in Business Section?
How did you record the ATC Communication?
Just adding the ATC made this one of the most exciting clips!
Wow love the air brakes at the end

Very nice! Love the ATC
the headset you get with around 9 channels to choose from which includes music etc .. well I think its channel 7 that does Live ATC of your flight.
Ohhh right, yeah if I remember correctly we hit a Jetstream that created a Tail wind of nearly 200knts. Sorry I'll correct that, I think anyway this was nearly 2 Years ago now!
How do you get the ATC and what camera are you using? By the way, great video!
hey great video! Question what was that white thing over the wing?
@fpx2gwak Ohhh, put headphones on full volume and up against your mic, i have 2 mics so thats why it goes from L to R and that noise is the bits around the headphones :)
CooL! You fly alot!

How Did You Get ATC Included?
You said "Flying almost in the middle of Hurricane Earl where we got a Tail wind of 220mph"
United's Channel 9, put headphones on mic. I used a Sony HX1 in this video. Thanks!
@B0eing1992 Nope, you or others may but I weirdly don't. I can sleep fine on planes I'm just worried about sleeping through all the way til touchdown! Amazing video, which livery was this?
Navy blue livery, light blue livery or Continental/United liver?
@HeathrowSpottingHD How did you get the ATC inside the airplane?
Great video. Can I just ask, how did you record the audio off channel 9 onto your camera/device?
@draoi99 On united you can listan to ATC on there audio channel 9 then i just put my headphone to my mic on camera
Jesus 22mph tail wind.... must have been cruising with the throttles at idle ha ha.
Nice video! How did you record the ATC?

@PCnever Awesome! Don't matter ;) Should upload dude. Thats a nice flight with the day flying, sunset, sunrise ;)
@YourNewsUk1 Please read the comments below! United offer a Audio channel where you can listen to ATC. Simply put headphones to mic on my camera.
I wonder what version 777 this was, I usually sit at the same position on a UA 777 and its seat 31 A or K, the two stand alone seats next to the lavs/crew rest areas.
I noticed my house!!!! at 03:22 planes turn over my house towards the thames, then follow heathrow pattern!
Did you use earphones for air scanner?
hey that's a Singapore Arlines A380 at 9:24!
@MrTrekster123 Yup, ATC where deffo making it clear sayin each callsign :L
Did the pilot request the flaps to deploy?
A 100knt Head/Tail wind is pretty average for a normal jetstream actually!
ok after the frequency change y do they say goodbye?
Bet that was confusing. UA 934 and UA 954 lol
How do you get the ATC?
Qantas have a strong presence at Heathrow..
How did u tune into atc?
@B0eing1992 Actually.. That's one of the best bits ;)
AHAAAA LOL :) That is one heck of a ufo!!!
