    Aaron is such an inspiration for me. While I love many different genres, his style just speaks to me. I love the focus on melody, the punchy, catchy riffs, and the insanely crisp production. Sometimes I even show his music to non-rock, non-instrumental listening people and even they can always appreciate it.
    My only complaint is not hearing you two jam together. I get that the heavier stuff is not the Captain’s style, but Aaron definitely could play some bluesy stuff as well. Would have been cool to hear a little back and forth.

    You know, I love the Captain in this. He really just seems absolutely enamored with Aaron’s knowledge and his ability to speak to everyone with that knowledge and his experience.
    Truthfully, a lot of us younger guys don’t get Fenders and Gibsons the way more seasoned guitarists like the Captain do - but Aaron speaks that language perfectly, and there’s a genuine joy emanating from the Captain because of it.

    Many of the very best Schecter guitars are made in Korea at one factory. That factory was at NAMM and are now selling their own brand, Crafter. They are virtually the same guitars with quality parts and wood. Yes and all have stainless steel frets. They will sell for the about one third the price as without Schecter they have removed the middle man. A Strat with better than American specs and at minimum the same quality of fit, finish and build is about $350.00 USD.

    Interesting interview. Aaron really seems to know his stuff and Schecter sounds like a great company to work with, not a huge amount of artists that get both production & custom shop versions of their signature instruments.
    I'm usually not a huge fan of Aaron's tone tbh, that clear & crunchy sound definitely suits his playing style and his music but it's not the kind of tone I like to use myself; just a personal preference, I like that angrier spanky tone that John Browne and Rabea utilise. So I was thinking that these Schecter Solstice & Equinox pickups were not really my kinda vibe. But through that Victory amp they sound amazing. Brings out that percussive hit that I love, especially on that inner coils position. I suppose it just shows how much effect the amp & cab can make. Those pickups are clearly great at bringing out the clarity and have a nice push to them...nice to know they are versatile enough to get Aaron's smooth crunch as well as more aggressive spiky tones.
    Great that the pickups will be available separately too, I was wondering why they weren't listed separately on the Schecter website when there is clearly going to be some demand for them. Although it's a shame that Schecter pickups are quite expensive to get in the UK. I just ordered John Browne's Colossus bridge pickup for my Schecter Reaper-6, costs £225 (that's $280) and has a 3-4 month lead time. Even Bare Knuckles are cheaper but I went ahead anyway as the dealer I asked put a lot of effort into finding out how to order them from the custom shop, and I want to get some of Schecter's Dark Side single coils in the future anyway so was good to confirm the dealer can get them. And of course it's nice to support the artist too (well...I hope John gets a cut from signature pickup sales as well as the guitars).
    The USA 7 string looks really cool in that colour. I like fancy wood tops but the right solid colour can look really smart. And it's cool that Aaron's got his process of starting simple and experimenting with more things along the way. Would've been nice to keep the circle inlays on the USA models though, they look really smart. Interesting to hear that a hardtail version of the 6 string is likely to come (assuming that would be both import & USA). Would be cool if they could apply the same thinking to the 7 string and release those with the Gotoh trem. There really aren't that many production 7 strings with a vintage type trem available...I've tried one so far (Ibanez AZ24047) and have another one coming soon (Legator Opus OT7T) but would be awesome to see some more choices on the market.

      @DISSONVNT 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@srh361 And I qoute "it's the pickup that's on your guitar is probably the single most important element to your tone" followed by him trying to correct the sentence because the conversation was referring to tone while playing. The semantics of it while convoluted still refer to the same end product which is the tone you get when playing it. Absolutely nobody ever refers to tone outside of a full signal chain because it's irrelevant outside of that fact. From an acoustics side of things, your string type would have a bigger difference than your pickups any day, flat wounds vs cobalts have a distinct difference same as hexcore vs a hardwound. Your entire comment made zero sense.

      @@DISSONVNT That's not what he said. At 19:26 he said "The pickup that's on your guitar is probably the single most important element to ITS tone" referring to the guitar's tone. And there are infact massive discussions about the difference in tone between single aspects of the signal chain under the assumption of all other parts of the signal chain being equal. That's basically the only way to talk about pieces of gear.
