What's funny about the space race, is that despite losing, the Soviets paved the way for the modern exploration of celestial bodies, by sending unmanned rovers to the moon. So who really won?
They did rovers as a rush job just to get a milestone cause they weren't gonna make it. Plus the us got a lander on the moon first. All of the us rovers have no relation to the lunokhod rovers either so they really didn't do much for later space exploration.

You should add building spacestations in planets orbits and maybe automatic rocket lauches to deliver resources between the planets.
Also maybe a solar system map so once you known where the planet is you don't have to log it again.
