Yeah, the Create scaffolding is kinda missing the point imo. It's nice that you don't have to worry about distance, but half of what makes vanilla scaffolding so useful is the fact that you can easily take it down by just punching out the base
I've used create scaffolding extensively, and honestly, I prefer it simply because it is easy to extend your platform or go up and down. You can also easily remove the scaffolding with a wrench so it is not that big of a problem for me at least

fun fact: planetary gears are used IRL are used in Automatic Transmissions to govern RPM/Torque output. More th(san likely you can use them to take a mechanical power source with a lot of Torque (Stress units) with low RPM to give you more RPM. Just be mindful that in this mod: the planetary gear DOES reverse the direction of rotation. IRL: Planetary gears don't always do this. Differentials are also used in automobiles: particularly in automatic transmissions in the rear axle allowing both of the wheels on the rear axle to rotate at different speeds which is instrumental to allowing a car to turn while also still directing power to both wheels in a turn.
The planetary cogwheel is very useful small space requisites, such as stackable, builds without adding to much complexity to the overall build that general gear-shifting, generally requiring large cogwheel "trains" or lots of the redstone gearshift chain-drive. It is, in my opinion, superior to most other speed reductors, other than the redstone resistor from Create x Valkyrien Skies mod, and better than the traditional speed increasers, i.e. speed rotation controllers, gearshifts, and chain-gearshift, due to it's flexibility for specific use-case, I personally have used them many times for a variety of things that would be more difficult without it such as reducing rotational speed without *needing* a redstone input and small-scale independent stress generation arrays for miscellaneous tasks in an overall larger project, like making a tiny 3x2x3 water wheel and cog speed assembly for spinning mechanical pumps that would have otherwise required long chains of shaft, belts, and/or chain-drives resulting an overall superior design with less complexity, and the reduced complexity is very useful when create decides to update and change/remove half of their features (like shadow steel, refined radiance, integrated circuits, that one tool that used to be in create that was very convenient)
irl, planetary gears are a coaxial version of differentials. in this mod, both shafts appear to be connected to the sun gear, while the planetary gears are fixed and the outer wheel is spinnig. irl, the outer gear is usually fixed when using it as a fixed gear ratio and the two shafts on either side spin at different speeds, which makes chaning them trivial.
shalz i would be up for teaching you some basic destroy, its really fun and interesting when you get into it, its a bit daunting at the starts but its amazingly good!!
The Coaxial Cogwheel is good for the start when you use cogs to get fast shaft speeds, as you normally have to take up a 3x3 area to make the cogs speed up, now we only need a 2x2
Something that can be used for the coaxial cogwheels is doing gear up ratios. You know how you gotta speed up the gears for things like the mixer when making brass? Or when you wanna make your press faster? Well, with this you can more easily stack the coaxial cogs on top of one another with the regular cogs to keep everything nice and compact. Rather than having to spread the gears out so they don't stack on one another and break.
@@destroyer1952 Yeah, I saw. Worth mentioning that it was a year between .4 and encased released, and putting casings on cogs weren't as well known back then, afaik
4:10 it would be insanely useful for speeding up as it saves a lot of space and makes some builds less ugly, plus a more simplistic way to swap the rotation
4:00 Planetary gears are often used in precision machines like industrial articulated robots (cycloidal gearboxes work the same but can transfer higher loads). So there are uses, I just don't know how you would use them in Minecraft, but I'm sure people can build crazy stuff with them.
Planetary gearsets are used in automatic transmission cars. (They're used very differently than just fir a speed increase but that gets into a lot of technical knowledge). This mod is cool because the block model is literally what a simple planetary gearset looks like.
That corner piece for shafts is a real thing, but i'd assume it would need to be pretty stable in order to not break the second you try rotating it. (I think it needs support)
I am pretty sure coaxial cogwheels can be powered by redstone to make the shaft inside "connect" to the gear. Making them perfect for creating gearboxes.
the planetary cogwheel seems so obvious in its usecase, its gear multiplication where the large cogwheel and the multiplied small cogwheel are essentially in the same block.
You didn't know that the differential can go perfectly in trackwork because, cars IRL(in real life) have those to make turning smother for the powered wheels and, here's an extra one, you can connect them horizontally sideways
