Well the fact is they're right, it is. But I agree with you because the problem is that the conditions necessary to get PLA to biodegrade are very difficult to create and should more realistically be described as compostable. And even then, the conditions required to compost PLA aren't something your average person can set up easily.
For reducing my waste, I use plastic bottles and pot noodle pots to start growing plants to at least a seedling stage before I plant them in my garden. Last year, I used them to grow garlic, chilli plants, pea plants and a small amount of wheat in the garden and I also had potatoes and raspberries in the garden. This year, I’m wanting to get a few more raspberry bushes growing in pots from cuttings and try growing tomatoes and onions this year.
I am against banning plastics and the like at least for now as they exist for a reason, cheap and available, but these alternatives are very interesting and many of them deserve a real attempt at implementation. Edible cutlery (I like the meal themed favors, very smart), Fish Edible Can holders, bio-plastics (for some applications), etc... if enough of them hit market capacity, it might be enough to reduce or even eliminate the dependency on trivial use of plastics.
Replacingvanimal grown meat with "lab" grown meat IS a significant invention. The amount of land, time and resources needed to grow animals for meat, while only so much of the animal is useable, is realy costly. Thats why meat throughout history was and is more valuable/expencive then plant based food. "Lab" grown meat doesnt change anything about the product, but it makes the "meat growing"process much more efficient. Instead of growing a cow on a large field or stable, and having to throw parts of it away in the end, while letting it produce animal waste like methane.... Instead growing meat pieces directly needs less space, less waste products, no animal waste, and is more easily quality controlled. Not to mention, no animals get slaughtered.

I found someones leg bone in the ocean when i was 10 cause i thought it was a weird and cool looking stick😭😭😭
that sounds terrifying
oh god-
I found an arm
For reducing my waste, I use plastic bottles and pot noodle pots to start growing plants to at least a seedling stage before I plant them in my garden. Last year, I used them to grow garlic, chilli plants, pea plants and a small amount of wheat in the garden and I also had potatoes and raspberries in the garden. This year, I’m wanting to get a few more raspberry bushes growing in pots from cuttings and try growing tomatoes and onions this year.

@Noah Taylor well fuck you too
@Noah Taylor why you mad bro???
Those are some incredible inventions
That club making it's own power is smart. Reminds me of the micro-universe battery from Rick and Morty 🤭🤭😂
would be cool if they installed that floor in gyms that would do a world of good. :)
So u watch rick n' Monty I like em
I mean morty
@@charlesaustria4433 yes, definitely. Who doesn't?😂
I bought two terraplanters after watching this! Brilliant!

Well done, Reduce - Reuse - Recycle is a way to go in the better future!
Such an amazing video ruined by Google adverts, 10 min length and 6 ads. You getting gready Google.
all of the clips are of inventions saving the world
everybody liked that
Finally some very cool inventions Earth can thank.
Plastic bags and bottles are now banned in my country from today
Amazing. Which country?
Lucky. Plastic straws here will be banned in June
These inventions are GREAT BUT, we NEED to vote for politicians that will act on change and actually make USE of these inventions on a bigger scale!
"Refuse"
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle
This video made me happy, thank you.
I completely 110% WOULD RECYCLE but my neighborhood doesn't allow/have it, because it costs too much.
*bruh momemt*
Then carry your recycling to the nearest drop off location or pay for it yourself.
No excuses
I’m so glad these inventions are being made :)
"so um... where's the food?"
"the food is in the plate and spoon sir"
"oh... wait wut??"
Just want to say that for most animals you can actually use pretty much all of it, even if it's not all for human consumption
Im surprised they didn't mention the plastic eating bacteria that was developped a little while ago
ikr? i wonder how thats going...
Tbh, our stomach are filled with microplastic. That's sh*t. I feel like plastic eating worm is a better alternative.
If you think about it, if those were to get out then they could potentially destroy a large part of civilization. But it’s not like we’re not already destroying it.
@@ioele1000 plastic eating worm is better.
@@yeetusfeetus713 the issue with plastic eating worms is they wouldn't be able to properly go after the most important plastics in the oceans. And to answer jailbaits statement. The bacteria could be made to only survive in salt water. Making it almost impossible for it to attack land based plastics and destroy what is left of our civilization.
Good to hear there are good things happening in the world 🙂
And there’s that one a hole “iTs jUsT a DrOp iN tHe BuCkEt”
Bravo! Bravo! Encore! Encore!

Excellent inventions. We need more like this.
If lab grown meat is tastes and has exactly same texture as meat ik then I'll be glad yi switch
Have you heard of impossible meat? Taste, smells, cooks, feels, and looks exactly like meat
@@teddycat7218 interesting
@@teddycat7218 how widespread is it? I never heard about it.
@@galactorsus_i.n.c I'd say it was pretty popular in the burger king lovers, since it was one of the first popular restaurants to feature it. You can search up mark rover and he has a video with bull gates in it, talking about it
@@teddycat7218 I had the impossible burger from Hungry Jacks, Australian Burger King, and it gave me wicked shits.
Thats the first good news I've heard that came out of FL in awhile!! Great job, the ideas people can come up with, with no help from the govs.
Can i be the next elon musk? Am just 16😊
You can do it lad!
Well most of the 16teens wants that...
First you have to learn to spell “just” right and use proper grammar.
You sure can don't listen to the haters do your thing and don't give up
There’s only 1 Elon.musk u could just be another one..nvm my English sucks
There are big businesses that are responsible for dumping loads of waste into the environment, and there all small or even large organizations that work to preserve it. There really are some good people out there.
"Where ever possible reduce reuse and recycle." Is NOT good enough. We must grow up and ELIMINATE. That means major lifestyle changes. These and all other cute products like these, at the very best well fix a drop in the ocean of problems. If successful they are only good for making money.
Tech Vision, my harsh tone is not towards you. We must all stop and eliminate all harmful behavior.
i like what you are saying...i feel the same...
@Lebundon and i understand where you are coming from too...but i can agree with you both...i will place my comment below
the thing is, it is all amazing, but when can i know that what i buy out of my supermarket and what i throw away does not keep me awake at night, WHEN? is it like fusion, always 30 years away!? i want it now! all of it on every shop shelf...not in the future, but in reality, right NOW! are these natural non petroleum based plastics public domain, or are they patented? i want to be able produce it...and for it to be financially locally sourced, not as cheap as chinese goods that comes from the killer of recycling, but biodegradable, and healthy, to create jobs in my country, and change the conventional old pollutive process into one where i know my kids and grand kids wont have to see plastic lying around for decades to come........please place links in the description of how to make my own and teach my local produce how to...because most of the money we give out on food is largely going for the disposable non degradable junk we pollute the biosphere with..
Like I said these trinkets means nothing. When your head is on fire, massaging your stubbed toe is not the right action.
My leather jacket was made from sheep hide.
Ot wasn’t specifically killed for it, it was one of the local sheep herd, meant to protect the grasslands from invading forests. When they die they get shipped off to food and cloth industry.
So I wear a piece of my home 😅
7:17 ok so holy snap 4% are considered wild animals this is including sea life that is crazy
They said mammals so it's only whales in the sea not fish (also birds or insects). Doesn't make it much better but at least a little.
I call bs
fish are not mammals but i share your concern
Very interesting.Good ideas.
