Probably a joke, but just in case this is a serious concern: Traffic signal preemption requires giving the time for traffic to clear in the conflicting directions, including pedestrian traffic (time for a person with a mobility disability to safely cross). In Berlin it's always been a feature as long as I can think of. There was a traffic light nearby where I always had to wait for minutes whenever there was a bus at the bus stop nearby. Because the bus would automatically communicate to the pedestrian traffic light to not become green (as the bus was too close to it - the system would 'believe' that the bus was soon gonna cross the street). Usually, the bus drivers would have shift turns at that specific stop. When I was flying out of Houston Hobby airport a few months ago, I noticed that in the parking garage, there were LED lights above each parking space to tell you if it was occupied or not. The lights was red the spaces were full and green if they weren't. That made finding one a lot easier. That's a pretty genius and simple invention that should be found in every parking garage.
@@Ravencos I don't think they have, but ambulances can just drive from red lights and everyone else has to let them go first if they have sirens on. That is even taught in driving schools... But buses take longer time to stop and start moving after stopping, so not having to stop would save time and make more people want to go with a bus, instead of going with a car, reducing the co2 emissions...

7:07 I didn’t know a old Rock Band knew that much about the World 😂

Im from Germany,Mecklenburg Vorpommern
Any particular reason why these women can't walk AROUND the grates?
3:24 The traffic light priority thing was already set in my town in the 90's.

Hayleigh Moody melborn😂

Kaylee Marie hahaha yep
Hayleigh Moody I know right it annoys me so muuuuuch. From central coast. The fires are quite bad in aus rn
For my engineering course project, a friend and I created a phone charger which worked by walking. Was pretty cool, even though you would've had to walk miles and miles to get a 5% charge lol. I recon it won't be long to a decent version of this is created.
thats awesome👍
Hey, just wanna tell you, that the invention of signals from busses to traffic lights is already a cummon thing in Germany for a pretty long time now. We are using this for years by now.
This put a good smile on my face .this means we are going forward. 😉💝
These are all great, but that light up bike lane is amazing! :D
They say money doesn't grow on trees..... *But electricity can!* 7:17
Paper comes from trees😐
People 100 years ago : in the future there will be flying cars
Me on 2019 : Eating pasta
What that makes no sense
Cool
This is literally the worst joke ive heard in my life
Wtf is that even meant to mean 💀
People didnt think about that in 1919..
I'm from Calgary, Alberta in Canada, and honestly I just thought those footprints on the grates were a common thing everywhere, although I never knew what they were for until now.
Melbourne is spelt top with a borne but it’s said melbin but u spell it with bourne
eeeElla_unicorn_ 98 nah it’s more like pronounced Mel-bne
Bro this TH-camr can’t pronounce anything. That triggers me!
I think we aussies call it Melbin or Melbene
@@aidanobst4284 I think melbene is very off my friend that ene, creates the same sound that gene has
What melbourne the one in florida or the one in Australia
Is it just me or did you do 13 twice

I was waiting for my food and i said I’ll wait till number 12..... and then BAM 13 again... I had to rewind it just to make sure that I’m not just high!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Dee Harden what the hell I didn’t peep that lmao 😂 😂😂
BrOOkLyN Prince go back and watch I’m telling you I though I was buggin lol
I noticed that too. But, because there were two number 13s, that means we got an extra fact which is a bonus!
Singapore has that in most commercial building parking lots
12:43 That's basically just pressure plates in real life....
Hahaha redstone bro
This is how many times he said France 😂

I don't see what's wrong
We have stoplights with countdown timer so you can estimate when to stop and go 😊
I found it funny when he was talking about the e tree and said a water trough for Animals just as that guy was taking a drink
They should invent something that shows drivers behind you that you’re waiting for pedestrians. Tired of getting honked at when I’m turning right.
That would be called, driving lessons.
Simple, turn slower to return the point
3:40 how about for ambulances instead of buses
Don't they already have something to change lights?
@@Ravencos I don't think they have, but ambulances can just drive from red lights and everyone else has to let them go first if they have sirens on. That is even taught in driving schools... But buses take longer time to stop and start moving after stopping, so not having to stop would save time and make more people want to go with a bus, instead of going with a car, reducing the co2 emissions...
@@Jansku1111 FINALLY SOMEONE INTELLIGENT THAT THINK BEFORE SPEAKING
Just like how a lot of inventions were created during the industrial revolution, we can do it again but for the wellness of the environment.

Lol it annoyed me to
Only auzzies that live in Melbourne really understand 😂
Same!

1959: THEY WILL HAVE FLYING CARS IN THE FUTURE!
2019: Vehicles filled with water

1:00 the only problem is we already have anough light pollution
Oh good gawd! Have you NO DEPTH to your thought processes?!!
No one:
Not a single soul:
Him: Mel-born
It’s Mel-burn
They always mispronounce it
This angered me sooooooo much
Yeah
9:09 we have the same in some Cities in France but it's different. In an underground parking there is a light at each spot. Green = available, red = taken. Way easier to find a place to park your car.
I've seen them in a few European cities and in UK cities like Liverpool and Birmingham, its a very good idea
@Christian Lee rj
We have that in some cities in Norway to
Singapore has that in most commercial building parking lots
Several of the inventions I think would be awesome to have available for residential use,
Not just the Municipalities.
"VR Urban Planning": I'm cracking up at the two guys in the lower corner gesturing to each other at imaginary buildings while they're both wearing VR sets in front of their eyes ! 🤣
Here in Philippines, I think they are no plan
These things remind me of something....
Now I remember.
TH-cam!
I've been talking about Smart Streetlights for years now, and I'm glad some has already made them (even 3+ years ago). It not only reduces electricity bills (even tho most streetlights are LED, it still adds up), but will also reduce light pollution, being both better for the health but also great for star gazers
[02:02] #17 Speeding Ticket Robot. I dont like that solution. It circumnavigates TWO problems that should be dealt with first;
1 - Don't drive too fast.
2 - Cops should not need to fear for their health carrying out routine tasks.
1999: We’ll have flying cars pretty soon
2020: smart lights

That's true because of all the corruption and embezzlement in most municipal government.
i like this guys voice because you cant tell if hes old or young
The "peddle charger" is ingenious! Those should be everywhere as a choice.
I'd love to see some vertical gardens in my city. Any idea if that could be done to a house?

Those foot spa’s are a foot fungus hot spot! That’s one of the most unhygienic things I’ve ever seen 🤢
Eww!
It could be chlorinated. How’s this why different from swimming in a pool? Heck, people swim in lakes all the time with no “sanitation.”
@@kimberlyphifer2391 A healthy lake has natural sanitation. But you're right about the swimming pools.
As apposed to swimming pools? All they have to do is have bacteria-fighting chemicals in the spa...much like public swimming pools!
