  • After a little back and forth between Disco32 from me ordering the incorrect part to them sending incorrect replacement I've finally got the correct one. Everything is up and running and PTT works great. If your looking to run coms from your Baofeng to your helmet the Disco32 Nexus is the way to go.

    Thank you for the video. Between you and other people making videos for these earmuffs, I was confident in this purchase. I'm glad I came back to this video with regards to the PTT and the high vs low impedance PTT. **FYI you can find the model number in either battery compartment**. The papers and info received from Brownells and OTTO don't specify this information and now I know the proper PTT to purchase.

      No problem. Been running these awhile and love them. Considering a second non helmet mounted set.

      Looking at getting this same setup, is there a breakdown list of the parts I’ll need? I have the same boafeng radio already

    Not a whole lot of vids on these Ottos, but they look like they’re the right bang for your buck and quality at first glance. Maybe you should drop a review on it - since there’s not a ton on them it could be an easy way to boost some channel views!
    One question though - why not use the Otto PTT?

      I can definitely try to throw together a move detailed review. Pretty much only run these now although they are always helmet mounted. They are great set of ear pro.
      When I was looking Otto didn’t offer them for the Tacs. Looking at Otto site now they are offering the “Nexus” so are selling cable I purchased direct from their source lol Disco32 kinda has corner on that market and I’m sure holds the patents around adapting to non-military radios.

    Nice rig. The UV-9G is FCC compliant to use with GMRS, they have a different headset connector that snaps and screws into place, much more secure than the Kenwood. Just FYI.

      Thanks a buddy and I were just discussing the UV-9G few days back. Did see they are running multiple pin connector. I had a custom elastic radio pouch made that goes over the kenwood connector so it pretty secure and still able to slide out and disconnect quickly if need be. There’s also a UV-9R that my understanding has Kenwood connector.

      Not sure I’m fully understanding question. The push to talk is the Disco32 Nexus. The cable that goes into the push to talk comes with the Otto Noizebarrier Tacs.

      Sorry not sure I understand question fully. After I decided on them Brownells got them in within roughly two months or less. I’ve seen them take months to come back in to stock everywhere so it’s hard to say exact timeline if you were to backorder.

    How long is the Disco 32 PTT cable?

    • @itsmillartime6916
      @itsmillartime6916  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They offer two different lengths. I went we it’s the 20” to provide more mounting options. I will say 20” is pretty long. Other option was 6”.

    • @cleontotr
      @cleontotr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@itsmillartime6916 Do you think the 6" is long enough? I can't decide between the two but I leaning towards the 6". How do u like the Otto's?

    • @itsmillartime6916
      @itsmillartime6916  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cleontotrlove the Otto’s. Honestly want to buy second set that I leave off of my helmet. As far as the cable if you intend to mount your radio to Chestrig or plate carrier 6” should be fine. If you want capability to mount on belt or elsewhere 20” provides the needed length. I have my 20” looped with Velcro loops holding it together currently. The Spiritus lv119 has internal routing so if I run cable inside 20” would also be required.
