I don’t get why herpes is so seen negatively in society. For fucks sake HPV causes CANCER and warts, gonorrhea and chlamydia can lead to INFERTILITY. And syphyllis: blind, seizures, skin rotting. And HIV death. Herpes just itchy balls or zit-like blisters once or twice a year. Most have the oral form anyways.
The stigma is the worst part. For the longest time I was DEAD scared of catching hsv2 and one day I did, and realized it’s not as bad and scary as I imagined it to be.

I am not here to judge, but I have to admit I am a bit confused by anyone saying they are/were angry about contracting Herpes if they made the decision to Not take any of the precautions to help prevent transmission. On top of that, unlike most potential sex partners, this person already knew In Advance his potential sex partner was Herpes Type 2 Positive. I am glad he made the decision to let Love lead his heart, but if he did not want to be infected, then there are/were several ways he might have prevented that and still remain In Love.

How could you get upset when you already knew ? I could understand if she never told him. But maybe he was more upset with himself for no longer using condoms. One out of 6 adults in the USA have HSV-2 (genital herpes). As someone else said, sometimes you get it even if you're using condoms. And, it's not as big a deal as other STI's. It's not life-threatening. It's a bit of big deal if you're pregnant and have genital herpes, and want to deliver vaginally. The MD's can help you with that.

good question. This is a touchy subject. I truly believe there is so many variables to this. Outbreak, Immune system, how many times you had sex with that partner Ect. The list goes and on. Remember just because you had sex with a possible infected person doesn't mean you're automatically infected.
