Winter camping at its finest! Nice and warm inside the tent, great food, snow outside!! I was going to ask before, what brand of tent/ awning is your blue picnic table cover? Not sure what you call those. Seems like yours is rain and snow proof- is it easy to secure from the wind? I really need one of those for shade and rain for summer car camping. Thanks Scott- have a Merry Christmas! 😄🎄🎄🎄
@@JenniferLupine It was a great campout, I’m glad I got to that spot before it got snowed out for the season. The pop up canopy I have is from Z Shade. Mine is at least 10 years old but probably closer to 15 years old and is definitely showing the age. I put a link in the description to one of the same size and brand sold at Lowe’s but it may be different since mine is older. It has held up great over the years and would be in better shape but I have not taken care of it like I should have. Leaving the tarp part attached to the frame all the time and going down rough roads has worn some holes in it. And the frame has a broken clip causing some sagging. But it’s definitely held up and come in very handy over the years.
@ Awesome! Thanks! I noticed it seemed to keep you dry in a recent video where it rained a lot!! Ok, pop up canopy- Z Shade- thanks and thanks for the link!!
@ Yup no problem, the one trip where I slept under it as my shelter I had another tarp on top of it but that was due to the holes worn in it over the years. I’m debating replacing it with the same thing or going up in size to a 12x12. I tried an 8x8 but they are too small for a rain shelter. Merry Christmas 🎄
@@scottalpine I’ll definitely check them out- we recently got a small camping trailer, but I still like to cook and eat outside, as long as the bugs are too bad, we’ll remember to take the blue off when we store it. 😉👌
That drive in was a bit scary. whenever I see branches drooping across the road from the weight of snow I'm afraid a tree will come down and seal me in for the winter. Those evening shots looked very cold. The clouds being held back by the mountains made me think you were east of the cascades. hope your drone was ok.
@@easycamperdandog I was hoping for a nice time lapse of the clouds flowing over the hills but they didn’t seem to move too much. Drone seems ok, it’s hard to pilot and drive at the same time 🤣.
@ Yes definitely better to drop the drone rather than the truck. I’ve thought about getting one with all the fancy tracking and obstacle avoidance features but for how little I use it I can’t justify the expense.
@@scottalpine oh my, I thought that all of them had the tracking and obstacles avoidance ! even the mini one that's just 200$ from DJI. it's not the case apparently so I am not going to buy a cheap one then, like you say I am not going to use it a lot so cannot justify the expense, furthermore in New Jersey where we don't have much places we can fly those
@ Yes some have the avoidance and tracking and some don’t. I use a DJI Mini 2, I believe the newer versions like the mini 3 and 4 have avoidance and tracking capabilities but I get by with my older model. I tend to not use it as much as I thought I would so dropping several hundred dollars on a newer one just doesn’t make sense. I also have a Hoverair X1 that does track a person and is light and easy to use but I still don’t use it much.
Nice little adventure, excellent video very peaceful and soothing, I enjoyed it a lot !
@@positiveattitudebymichusa Thank you. I was hoping for more snow but it was nice to have some clear views too.
Tent was toasty warm! Was worried you might get stuck. My son is home from school so we were able to enjoy that one together. Nice trip Scott!
@@goldfinger180024 There was a couple little slip n slides but fortunately I was able to keep going. Thanks for watching.
Enjoy looks exciting

@scottalpine I was wondering if you were flying that drone or if it was using a follow me automation. Better than crashing the truck
