This is the best Brompton accessories video. Some really clever ideas. My only suggestion for better lights would be Bontrager RT lights. One on the seat post just below the seat, and the other right in the centre under the handlebars (The front light needs rotating inside it’s mount). The perfect Brompton lights setup.
Almost everything I know about brompton I have learned in this channel. Lots of content and no boredom. This video too. Thank you. Greetings from Italy. Ciao
@@EverydayCycling I was going to say the same thing....my saved video list for Brompton, is pretty much all your videos Victor. I'm seriously considering ac-line black edition and your videos are helping to me see how handlebar choices and after sales upgrades can happen. I do have to say that the Brompton website bike configurator in the UK is pretty poor and I'll be going to a physical store instead and I now feel better prepared to ask the right questions! Thank you!
Victor I was debating a kickstand as well, to get more use out of rack. I found the Minoura SLMV-1 Mini-Velo Stand on the internet. Cost about 65 Us Dollars. I just installed it. Very stable did not have the issues you found. Weighs 155gm. I did find it snapping in the up position, and hitting the rim of the back wheel. To stop that I wrapped velcro around the top of the kick stand, and secured with black electrical tape so it does not slide down. Could also use a dot of Crazy Glue, but I wanted to be able to get it off if I did not like it. Velcro tape stops the inward travel of Kickstand. Thanks for your work on behalf of us all. You made an engineer out of me!
I'd consider the EZ-Clamp Spring absolutely essential, to not have worry about aligning the clamp for a tiny cost is soooo essential and the first thing i'd recommend any tri-fold bike rider!
As a bike pro ( i'm Dutch) and owner of one, i would strongly advice to use some protective tape like Lizard skins frame protector, and a dynamo hub like a SON is also a great upgrade...
Hi. Please say more about the protective tape idea. Edit: I looked that up and it appears to be handlebar grip tape. The main objections I would have to that are: 1. Grip tape has a reputation of collecting moisture under it and rusting out metal parts. 2. It covers up the pretty paint job if you value the color of your Brompton (would be OK to cover some areas of high wear, but not most of the frame).
I'll add two upgrades I find handy. 1. The Brompton's handlebars don't leave much room to mount gear such as a GPS. Search ebay for a "bike handbar extender." That'll let you add a 20 cm bar for accessories. 2. An Ibera PakRac Mini Commuter rack I had on a mountain bike fits the seat post on a Brompton perfectly. You can use it on its own or in addition to the lower-down Brompton rack. As a plus it can be used with Ibera's extensive line of quick-release bike bags at prices that are typically cheaper than Brompton-only ones.
Today I used my wheel extender and really struggled to keep my bike from tipping over. Thanks to your detailed videos, I realised I'd fitted the extender on the left. But, I think I need a rear rack to achieve good stability when rolling my bike. It would also give better ground clearance thus preventing further damage to my fender. And great tip on the kick stand modification. You, my son, can come to the UK and stay by me for FREE....with just one condition - upgrade my Brompton Electric JUST like yours!!!
Finally!! Finally a demo on how to install a Klickfix .. i bought it after watching your video few months ago..but i haven't installed it yet until now cuz there's no instructions and i don't know anybody with handyman skills lol..so thanks for showing how to install it

Great upgrades! I like the extention EasyWheel that clicks. Very nice! It was a great solution for the kickstand, they are very helpful. Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
@@EverydayCycling If it is fully loaded it is more difficult to balance. And on a daily basis I always have to pay attention to where do I place the Kickstand to keep on balance.
If possible, you always want your kickstand closer to your payload... that's why on standard bikes, the one that fits on the rear triangle is best. I haven't been paying attention... Brompton has not yet made the "easy wheel" standard? Shame! For me, I think that little plastic gizmo that keeps the clamps aligned/pushed out might even be the *top of this list* of upgrades. Thanks for your great videos!
The original wheel that comes stock these days is much better than a few years ago, so if I didn't have EZ wheels laying around, I probably wouldn't have replaced those. But there's still some noticeable advantage because of the bearings on the EZ wheels versus bushings on the original. The springs are a neat upgrade!

@@RidingBikesinSanDiego yeah, that clip she has this is interesting, but for my money that and the rack are imperfect answers to the fact Brompton could had put a bit more thought into the City bag design; the battery takes up so much space. I love the drone shot at the beginning of the video, it’s very cinematic. I also learn that you can’t push the bike with weight on when it’s folded. Would you recommend people to get a R model instead of a L if they haven’t already bought a bike yet? Great video Victor!
Thank you, Paul! I prefer the looks of the L version, but for someone who will often push the bike when folded, grocery shopping for example, the rear rack is a MUST. Now, not everybody likes to push the bike. Some prefer putting it inside of the shopping cart, so it's really up to how one uses it.
I was able to order my electric with a rack so the store installed it for me before I picked it up. Got the larger front bag, but the battery still eats space up inside it, so I strap a larger box to the rear rack when delivering baked goods for my wife! Rear light is relocated to the rear of the rack too, nicely done by the factory.

Really helpful. Thank you. The main thing for me has been wider handlebars. I swapped mine to Joseph Kuosac ones which sweep in slightly but the grips are in line with my shoulders. The normal bars are 152 cm across. The JK bars are 160, but I cut mine to 158 cm. the bike folds fine. Thanks again
Hello Victor have I missed a video where you describe your experience of the Brompton electric? I remember when you got it and then that night you took it out for a spin but I have not seen anything since then . I’d be pleased to learn of your electric experience Douglas
The Rear Rack is such a great addition to an Electric Brompton I am amazed it's not the standard configuration. Adds back more than the pinched luggage space lost to the battery and assists rolling when folded. Love my X roller bar, so easy to deploy with the right toe. Considering OMNI wheels, 2 or 4 though? Thanks for your interest, informative vids. Take care
I forgot to reply to your comment but I looked it up and it seems very neat for the Brompton. I won't get one now, but definitely will next time I'm in the market for a bike mirror.
Saddle and grips were the first thing to get swapped on my electric. Had a B17 and Brooks GP1s spare, so on they went. Think its going to be JK low rise bar next, not happy with the vague M bar feeling after so many years on S bikes
My B17 "World Traveler" was the first thing to go on my electric B, from my old M6, shortly followed by Ergon grips. (and I turn the seat bracket upside to get extra height on a standard seat pole - perfect)
Check out CRG Lanesplitter mirrors. They are for motorbikes and fold inwards when in tight traffic. I have a pair on my Ducati and my bicycle. Anti-vibration, and replaceable mirrors if they break.
Thanks for your great videos! Did you happen to play with GoRack? How did you like it? I thought you mentioned it in one of your videos but I could not find a review on you channel.
Thanks for the Excellent upgrade options. I dont currently own a Brompton but im torn between a Brompton B75 entry model in Ireland New at €900 Euro or a used Dahon EEZZ D3 for €500 used in really good condition. The extremely Light weight Dahon comes in at 9.7kg and the Brompton B75 at 11.6KG One concern id have with the brompton is that accessories seem really expensive compared to other brands. Each has their pros and cons.
You don't have to use the original accessories, but may buy many special items from China. I have bought carbon clamps to hold my, original titanium struts on my Lightweight, as the original metal ones actually weighs a lot!
Hi thanks for the video. At the end you say that you are not happy about the rain. Does that mean you cannot ride the electric Brompton in the rain? Also in one of your videos I saw some orange wheels on the rack which make it easy to roll in different directions please tell me the name of the wheels or which video you install them in so I can get some. Thank you :)
E aí Victor! I have a question about the rack-less grocery shopping you showed at @5:00. I know it has been a while, but would you say it was still usable as a grocery cart without the rack, other than for the noise? My main question ATM is whether to go P-line with our without a rear rack, as I might want to use it for grocery shopping...
This is a smaller, more convenient mirror for the Brompton: CatEye BM-45 Bar End Bike Mirror (£12.99) - fitting is the same as the one shown in this video. I been using it on my Brompton for 3 years. It has a very stiff ball-joint between the mount and the mirror to allow for precise positioning. If you knock it in transit it will move, if you wack it really hard (against a doorway for instance, it will 'pop off' and it's an effort to 'pop it' back on). There's no distortion, vibration or magnification. It sticks out about 2", doesn't effect "the fold" (I'm from the UK, we drive on the left, so it's on the right - non-floor-side when folded) Get one, it will make your cycling safer... at a glance, it'll let you see if it's a truck, bus, or car that's coming up behind you and trying to squash to into the gutter...
@@EverydayCycling I just checked, and it may not... (I've just corrected my comment) Without actually fitting it to 'your' side I couldn't say for sure, but it's movable by hand, you may be able to rotate (close it) it out of the way so it doesn't strike the ground...
The one objection I would have to that mirror is it adds 2"/5cm to the width of the bike, which can make it hard to fit in some tight spaces if you ride in very dense urban environments. (Nonetheless I have added it to my Amazon wishlist.)
The rear rack bag you clicked on but didn't discuss looks great! My heels clip low hanging cargo so is there more on that bag that sits above the rack please?
Hi Victor, it’s Will from Chicago. I am interested in purchasing several upgrades for my Brompton such as the hinge clamps, seat post clamp, ez wheels, handlebar catch and several others. There are many options available for these but I am struggling with the color choices. I am totally colorblind and unable to distinguish colors from each other. My bike is a flame lacquer black edition. Because it is a black edition, my initial thought was to purchase all black upgrade components, but after considering this, I am wondering if it’s too much black. I’m thinking all the black might be boring. Most of the components are available in silver, gold, titanium color, and of course black. I am wondering which color you think would coordinate best with flame lacquer black edition. I realize this is personal taste, but for me everything is shades of gray. Hopefully you are familiar with the flame lacquer color and can offer some advice. If black really is the best, then it will help me to know. I appreciate you help and look forward to your response.
The mirror will touch the ground after installation in H6L model. The only solution is to upgrade from L to R. Even when you demonstrate folding handlebar with mirror it’s with rack installed.
This was such a huge coincidence! Imagine my face when I got notification about your video yesterday. Hahah i was like: "Did Michelle just use my title?" hahah Thank you!
just curious, you had a Jan video on the non-electric and installed a GOrack, and said you'd bin the brompton rack, may i ask why you've changed your mind since getting the electric and you've reverted your favourite to the Brompton rack as opposed to the GoRack?
Nice video Victor thank you, I've added a rear rack to my electric but a bit stuck on moving the rear light as it is connected to the battery, how did you do yours? cheers Dave
Hi Dave, what's the problem you're facing? I just cut the zipties that attach the rear light cable to the seat stay and unscrewed the light. Then the light came off with 10in (25cm) of cable, enough to route up the rack stay to the rear portion of the rack.
@@EverydayCycling Hi the rear light is wired into the battery/hub and I cant see the cable extending along the rack unless I splice it. just wondering how you did yours.
@@bigphatphotos5028 can you send me a picture of the right side of your rear triangle? I want to see how your rear light cable routing is done. I assume it is the same as mine, so you shouldn't have run into issues. I didn't cover it in the video because it was straight forward to switch positions. Please send it to victorsabioni@gmail.com
Is there a way to attach a ‘double kick stand’? Also, the bag that you use for groceries, do both sides open into a panniers or jus the one side? That you for the videos.
The easy clamps may also be bought from AliExpress in a - better version with an internal metal spring, which I favor. And the small wheels are useless on anything but a very flat surface. I use larger wheels, lately I have ordered a 10 cm wheel size. And why a kickstand, when you are able to just fold the backframe, as a stand! Without the bag, of course.
Hi there , i enjoy your video , it gives good ideas , i am intrested to buy à Brompton bike... they say not more than 100 kg total ... is it true by your experience... i am 84 kg and i want to do some cycling touring ... in total it will be a little more than 100 kg... thank you for your time !!! Sincerely yours Luc
I put a similar kickstand on and it’s stable even with loaded bags. I dunno maybe there’s lots of variance in them. That and if I did want it a little longer I’d probably put a rubber ferrule on the end or something
@@EverydayCycling different brand (“snowinspring”) but pretty much the same thing, was £18 on Amazon. Seems to be many brands with the same item. Must either all be from the same OEM or they’re all clones of each other I did mod it a little bit: cut the top of the mount into a V shape to fit around the bottom of the rack struts so I could take the wheel off more easily
A non Brompton rear rack VOID warranty. His electric Brompton is within 7 years warranty - that the reason he use Brompton Rear Rack , not the GoRack on another video
Great video - as always :-) just got the EZ Clamp springs, an invisible but very nice little upgrade (Brompton should consider making a deal with the developer and make it a standard component)...
Nothing shown should add more than a few ounces put together. I have ridden an e-Brommy and the motor alone without the battery adds a few pounds to the front and noticeably unbalances it when lifting the bike one-handed but not when riding. Based on my personal experience test riding an e-Brompton at the Brompton Junction in New York I would not recommend it.
It's pretty safe. Just make sure the seller has a good reputation. The link I put in the description is exactly the item I purchased. It took three weeks, with Christmas and New Years in the middle, so it shouldn't take longer than that.
@@EverydayCycling thanks for the comeback and you’ve motivated me to add this to our 2 Bromptons. Film at 11....(or in April when they say they’ll arrive)
I can tell you that I'm 5'10" or 175cm tall, and I use the standard seat pole at full height. But... I remove the seat and turn the mounting bracket upside down, making the seat "overslung" not underslung as it were, and that gives me an extra inch and a bit height, perfect for me and leg extension without locking my knees on the down stroke. Tweaking the fore-aft angle of the seat helps too, so for a while carry the Allen key for the seat so you can adjust it on your first rides. If you're a 6 foot plus person, you can order the bike with the extra high or extended seat pole.
Hey Jerry, it did get goopy on my Kona, which I always park outside, but not on the Brompton. I believe long exposure to heat and the sun is what makes it kind of melt.

Think its going to be JK low rise bar next, not happy with the vague M bar feeling after so many years on S bikes
I may fit my B17 on it as well!
My B17 "World Traveler" was the first thing to go on my electric B, from my old M6, shortly followed by Ergon grips. (and I turn the seat bracket upside to get extra height on a standard seat pole - perfect)
The kind of your videos are geting perfect 👍
Thank you, Thorsten. Good to see you here!
Please would you make a video on installing the rear rack on an electric Brompton? Thank you.
I miss these videos, come back @EverydayCycling!
Thanks for sharing! The main problem I see is that I use the mirror on the other side, i.e. bar end is 1 inch from the ground... =/ would it work?
@@EverydayCycling I just checked, and it may not... (I've just corrected my comment) Without actually fitting it to 'your' side I couldn't say for sure, but it's movable by hand, you may be able to rotate (close it) it out of the way so it doesn't strike the ground...
Oh, and thanks for you content and videos, they're very informative and watchable (from the UK at 3am...)
@@EverydayCycling here's a link to show you the size: th-cam.com/video/eG9RKO8bB2c/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=PushReset
The one objection I would have to that mirror is it adds 2"/5cm to the width of the bike, which can make it hard to fit in some tight spaces if you ride in very dense urban environments. (Nonetheless I have added it to my Amazon wishlist.)
I have the ikea poncho in my bag just in case. Haven't had the need to use it as yet.
Great mods!! I especially like the rear wheel extender and the kick stand. Thanks Victor!!
The rear rack bag you clicked on but didn't discuss looks great! My heels clip low hanging cargo so is there more on that bag that sits above the rack please?
Yes, I talk about it on this video (after 6m27s): th-cam.com/video/DNvuMouYy-Y/w-d-xo.html
Love it! Great minds think a like, lucky number 7 😀
This was such a huge coincidence! Imagine my face when I got notification about your video yesterday. Hahah i was like: "Did Michelle just use my title?" hahah Thank you!
@@EverydayCycling It could have been my face if I'd release on the weekend! I had Friday off though so I beat you to it. :D
@@OneLessCar ahaha love it!
just curious, you had a Jan video on the non-electric and installed a GOrack, and said you'd bin the brompton rack, may i ask why you've changed your mind since getting the electric and you've reverted your favourite to the Brompton rack as opposed to the GoRack?
Nice video as always Victor! I'm curious, how much does you Brompton Electric now weight?
At 6:51 what is that under the rear bag that clips to the rack? Is it part of the rack or separate?
Great video. Maybe a bigger foot on the kick stand would also help. Just a thought. Regards Northern Ireland..
It would. If I find a way to make the foot bigger without having to weld anything, I may do that too.
Can you please do a video on how you can carry a dog riding a Brompton? Thanks! ( rear and front)
Where can I get one of those bags that clips onto the rear rack?
Is there a way to attach a ‘double kick stand’? Also, the bag that you use for groceries, do both sides open into a panniers or jus the one side? That you for the videos.
The double kickstands I've seen attach to the normal kickstand location on a bike, which the Brompton obviously lacks.
Hello what is the size of your caster omnia wheels?
Love your videos. I would love to get ahold of the EZ Clamp Springs. Do you know where they can be purchased in the United States?
They're only sold straight from the manufacturer in the UK. Shipping is about 5 usd and gets here in about 2 weeks. Not bad!
Can you tell me what that rear bag and clip system is?
The easy clamps may also be bought from AliExpress in a - better version with an internal metal spring, which I favor. And the small wheels are useless on anything but a very flat surface. I use larger wheels, lately I have ordered a 10 cm wheel size. And why a kickstand, when you are able to just fold the backframe, as a stand! Without the bag, of course.
He wants the kickstand so he can leave luggage on the rack yet keep it upright without riding it. He said this in the video.

Hi Victor, the Ezwheel extender u used will it cause heel strike when riding? tks
Not when retracted. You obviously have to push it in when riding the bike.
Accesorios que te hacen la vida más fácil
Absolutely!
Is it the same brand? I think there are better brands out there for 3-4x the cost. This one was $20.
@@EverydayCycling different brand (“snowinspring”) but pretty much the same thing, was £18 on Amazon. Seems to be many brands with the same item. Must either all be from the same OEM or they’re all clones of each other
I did mod it a little bit: cut the top of the mount into a V shape to fit around the bottom of the rack struts so I could take the wheel off more easily
One of the catches on my Vincita Nash rack bag is broken how can I replace it
Hi, what would you recommend as a rear rack ? The one from Brompton or from another distributor ? Thanks
A non Brompton rear rack VOID warranty.
His electric Brompton is within 7 years warranty - that the reason he use Brompton Rear Rack , not the GoRack on another video
Great video - as always :-) just got the EZ Clamp springs, an invisible but very nice little upgrade (Brompton should consider making a deal with the developer and make it a standard component)...
that's a neat product, thanks for mentioning it
Where can I buy an EZ Clamp?
Does it have a magnetic catcher?
Hello, for a brompton electric which easy wheels are you using? and can you put the bar extender and the easy wheels without a rack?
The bar extender works with any Brommy AFAIK. The rear wheel assembly is the same in all cases.
Bem legal, vc poderia fazr mais =) Me faz falta deles em pt também =)
which brompton bag are you using in the video? How many liters is it?
Do the accessories you put on there add a lot of weight to the bike? Do you think the bike is light enough to ride without the battery?
Nothing shown should add more than a few ounces put together. I have ridden an e-Brommy and the motor alone without the battery adds a few pounds to the front and noticeably unbalances it when lifting the bike one-handed but not when riding. Based on my personal experience test riding an e-Brompton at the Brompton Junction in New York I would not recommend it.
Nice work and info, thanks. Never purchased from AliExpress...is it safe?
Also, did you wait a long time for delivery from AliExpress? TIA
@@Gogogordy1 It shouldn't take that long, they're probably giving a longer estimate to avoid complaints.
am I the only one waiting for my name to come up but didn't? 😢😂 great content as usual!
Oh, it seems like your subscriptions are private, so your channel doesn't show up to me. =/
My Dahon has a kickstand. And he same problem occurs if you move the front wheel and it topples over.
How tall are you? Just want to imagine myself riding the bicycle before getting one.
I'm 6'0 on the Brompton electric, and I manage to get full leg extension.
@@napilopez cool. Thank you
I’m 6’3 (~36 inch inseam) so I have the telescopic seat post. Would recommend a test ride before you buy.
What kind of rear rack do you have ?
That's the rear rack from Brompton. They sell it separately.
Does the glue on the electrical tape get goopy in the hot and humid Georgia summer?
Hey Jerry, it did get goopy on my Kona, which I always park outside, but not on the Brompton. I believe long exposure to heat and the sun is what makes it kind of melt.
@@EverydayCycling Thanks.
What about bag holder just under the seat? But not on seatpost.
